You're missing out then. The Dromon is amazing, one of the best defenders and maybe attackers you'll find in case of war. Nothing can touch it early game.

Underrated theme for sure. I prefer Shoshone's war theme though, it still sounds very solemn like the peace theme.

Does anyone else miss the Tectonics map from Civ 4? I sure do. Those mountain ranges... It'd be perfect for Civ 5, because of choke points in mountains. I miss the time when civilizations could be isolated only by mountains, especially for multiplayer. Proper adjustable sea level was great too...

Tiny Islands, Cool temperature. Denmark is amazing there, Berserkers destroy everything.

Probably Order, simply for the happiness per monument. Also a tenant has the ability to have a free courthouse upon capture. Autocracy is better though for pure conquering with all the boosts to military units, but you won't get as much happiness as Order I think.

Trust me, Culture Victory depends on expanding and getting key wonders. I found it out the hard way as Poland. I had a few good wonders, like the Broadway, Statue of Liberty, hell even Sydney Opera House. I got all the theming bonuses, had a diplomat everywhere, open borders, trade routes...

Yeah I was disappointed when I discovered the culture per turn was hilariously low, kinda crushing my hopes for a possible Morocco cultural victory. While the gold bonus is nice, I think the culture per turn should be buffed somewhat.

In my experience, the puppeted cities did indeed prioritize on World Fair, and it was awesome to have all those bonuses. I didn't even need Venice (which wasn't building much anyway, trust me the ability to buy buildings and having the money to do so is worth it) I trumped them pretty well.

BABYLON. They are aggressive and very good scientifically; a horrible combination. Warmongering while having a ton of advanced units is very scary, and I try to get them into wars to keep them busy. I find that if you leave them alone, they will have the highest amount of points.

People who think Venice will be as bad as Gandhi and India will be surprised, that's for sure. Great Galleass is an excellent ranged/melee defender, ability to take city states helps Venice both expand in land and in diplomacy, and double trade routes means double the money. I can imagine that...

Meaning... it's really quite good, unlike what most people thought. not only that, galleass does last a while before frigate.

Play as Venice with other new civs on Pangea... As funny as it sounds, I'll actually enjoy a break from expansion via Settlers, and quit worrying about civs building near my territory constantly. It'll be relaxing just simply puppeting all city-states near me, without worrying about...

1. Venice The mechanics would make it fun to try it out. That screenshot of Venice absolutely dominated pretty much made me extremely hyped up for it. 2. Shoshone I love the idea of the extra territory, especially since I find that my cities are too small early game. Pathfinders are awesome too...

As soon as I click on "Begin your journey", bam the game freezes. It was working perfectly before, now all of a sudden it stops working... I already reinstalled it, tweaked a bunch of settings for the game, and nothing... Someone reported the same thing a year ago and it's never been...

Assyria seems rather dull compared to the other civs. And it has a unique ability that should already be available for every civ once they ransack a capital. I was pretty satisfied overall with the selection though.

Ah yes, it works by publicmaps folder. It's still inconvenient though... :/
