    Random city joined my empire

I believe the trigger is that the enemy city is in disorder, and you have a city with lots of happy people in We Love the King/President Day celebration.

One thing to watch for is if you leave it in Draw Land mode and you start clicking on units or cities it changes the land under them. You can right click on a square for more options. I need to make the right click not "Draw Land". I am happy someone else is still interested in Civ Win.

http://www.dynacomsoftware.com/CivWin/CivCracker.zip There is no installation kit. It is just an .exe. Copy it to a directory and create a shortcut. There is no documentation. If you try menu items before opening a saved game you may crash the program. The about box lists all the Civ...

    Biggest Caravan payoff?

I believe Urtica is correct in his calculations. I built this and got 121 trade in Rome and 92 in Washington. After reducing the city size to 20 they had 1 extra food. So the cities will toggle between 20 and 21. City improvements except for the Colossus do not matter. They do not change...

Byte 11 is the trade as last calculated. My calculation was incorrect. I was giving too much trade for the republic and railroads.

    Biggest Caravan payoff?

If you take away railroad and flight from the Americans the bonus goes up to 279. It is not city size or civilization size. It is the amount of trade the city produces locally. If you change the Fish to Gold and wait a turn for the trade to be recalculated the bonus goes to 413. Take...

20 = #of specialists, 21-22 identify type of specialist, two bits per specialist the bit patterns are 00=none, 01=Taxman, 10=Scientist, 11=Entertainer Byte 11 doesn't match Trade, Shield Production or Wheat Production. Example I have a city size 27. Shield Production = 28, Trade = 56 (not...

    Exceeding 128 Units

Dack is looking into whether this is possible in Civ DOS. It may only be possible using CIV$ if it is possible at all. It appears to be very random as to whether the game (Civ Win) will do it automatically. It does it in some cities, but not in others. In some cities I can't even force it...

    Exceeding 128 Units

Something like that. I am playing a game where I created a bunch of these units. The game is fickle. It won't leave them in this state. The units move in and out of this state on their own. Don't know what triggers it. Right now I have 23 units in this state and have 143 units total.

    Exceeding 128 Units

I have looked at some other games that I have saved. There are almost always a few human units that are saved in the city info, and not in the list of units. I have not found any case where a computer player has units saved this way. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. They don't...

    Exceeding 128 Units

I just discovered something about CIVWIN that I did not know. I searched the forum and did not find any information about this "feature". While developing the map/game editor for CIVWIN I came across a city that only had 1 mech infantry in it according to the list of units. But when I...

I have looked at the shorelines a little closer. They are more complicated than the rivers, hills, mountains and other land forms. They also look at the corners.

In the CivWin the images are all in one block 1472x400. I figured the oceans were the same as the rivers but looking at the only images for the ocean they just don't look right. There is a block of all the images for the various land types. Desert at the top down to jungle at the bottom...

    CivWin Editing

I have started drawing using the actual graphics from the game and am at the "square" look. I have figured out drawing the rivers, roads and railroads. I am looking at the images for the shoreline, and am having trouble understanding when to use what to draw the rounded shorelines. If...

Finding out cool things every day. Located the data that defines the unit types. Today I made flying amphibious settlers who can move 3 squares at a time without regards to terrain type. They still found cities and build roads. I am curious to see if I can make diplomats into some kind...

I created a 4 player game using a map of Europe that I found here. A mapOut.txt I am starting as the Egyptians. I had to move a couple cities because I wasn't player number 1. Every city I move gets destroyed by Barbarians on the second turn. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong...

Thanks for the reply and being willing to discuss this. I have figured out a lot, but still have questions. There are values in the .sav file that I don't undertand. I very much appreciate your help so I can avoid doing things to the map that cause problems down the road. My first attempts...
