    [R&F] Patch broke Civ VI

I only use the built-in Windows Defender for anti-virus/malware, and haven't gotten any notifications.

    [R&F] Patch broke Civ VI

I can launch Civ 6, but none of the DLC or expansions are recognized in-game. According to steam all relevant files are installed. I've verified game files, even reinstalled the game but no dice. Guess I just can't play the new civs today. A bit disappointing.

[GS] Eleanor of Aquitaine Discussion Thread

She's alright. The fact she can be used as a leader for two different civs is interesting, but I'm just not a fan of alternate leaders in general. According to interviews given for Civ V, the leader screens take the most work and the other bonuses and units take less. If that's still the case...

    Music of Civ VI

My favourite from the ones announced up 'till now is Mali, but I like the Maori and Inca a fair bit too. The other ones have been really underwhelming to me.

    [GS] Inca Discussion Thread

Looking good! I can see how some might think they're a bit boring to play, but I think there's lots of people who just want to have fun building an empire in this game. I think the Inca are well suited to that.

Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm need to be offered on the Nintendo Switch

Oh damn, I wasn't even aware the DLC had been released! I must say, I do think it's a bit scummy to sell them seperately right after release like that... This is a 2 year old game at this point, it wouldn't have hurt to just include all the DLC with the game. Anyway, I bought those packs too...

First impressions of Civilization VI on Nintendo Switch

I think I finished around turn 250. I had medium zoom to the point where I could see a single city and its surroundings, but not much more than that. And yeah, that framerate was a bit rough. I must add though that I did turn on the day/night cycle. That may not be a great idea for handheld...

First impressions of Civilization VI on Nintendo Switch

I just finished my first game (standard map, fractal, King difficulty) and found the game to slow down significantly as time went on. The framerate takes a real dive as units fill the screen and districts and improvements are built. Scrolling the map becomes a bit of a chore, and even just...

    [R&F] So...How's R&F?

I finished three games, and none of the new mechanics ever changed the way I play. The different ages just happen, and they don't really seem to matter at all. Loyalty has not been an issue for me, and in my experience only makes warmongering more powerful. The governors don't add that much...

    [R&F] So...How's R&F?

I'm not a civ veteran, having only played V and VI, but Civ V's expansions added drastic improvements and additions that changed the game fundamentally. Yeah, that also had to do with the fact Civ V was a bit barren in its vanilla state, but still. That's something this expansion doesn't really...

Hottest Female Leader - Post R&F Poll

I don't think any of them look that attractive. Throw us a bone, Firaxis! Voted Jadwiga, because she looks so innocent and queen (king?) next door-ish, and Cleo, because she seems way into you when she's friendly.

The loyalty system ... oh my God

I don't know how I feel about loyalty. It didn't seem like a very big deal in my Shaka game, but maybe that's due to their loyalty bonus. I was able to conquer city after city, and loyalty issues would mostly sort themselves out (I did have one or two cards with loyalty bonuses and a governor)...

    [R&F] Anyone getting attacked?

Just finished my first R&F game on King, and I got a lot of declarations of war. Sometimes even from allies. Most of the time they wouldn't even send any units though. I fought two actual armies though, that invaded my territory.

Civ VI Artworks from Firaxis Artists

Have to agree with this. Civ V's forests were perhaps not the prettiest, but they were very clearly forests. In Civ 6 I find myself having to check twice to see if a tile actually has forest on. There's tile improvements, wonders and other stuff on the map that have a few trees on them as well...

[R&F] Inevitable thread on "Flirtatious" and "Curmudgeon" straights-only traits

Wow, it's just like my Japanese anime! I can get my very own harem of civ leaders, and then the next game they'll be allergic to (wo)men so they'll hate me. Fantastic. When will they add tsundere and yandere traits?

    Language translations for leader sayings

I can translate the Dutch voice clips from the following video, but I don't know the in-game translations or anything. Maybe it helps. Agenda approval: Dutch: Nederland floreert met elke zending die u ons stuurt. Translation: The Netherlands flourishes with every shipment you send to us...

    Music of Civ VI

Another strong soundtrack for Civ. The only ones that disappoint me are Mongolia (Prefer the very similar Civ V version.) and the Netherlands (This song has absolutely nothing to do with the Netherlands. I'd wager 99,99% of the population have never heard it before. Otherwise it's okay though.)...

[R&F] Philosophy of Civilization Choice in R&F

In many ways I think they don't follow their own guidelines, and some of those don't even make sense anyway. First of all, they don't seem to care about region representation. Many of the civs in game right now are from regions that were already (somewhat) represented. Macedon is an example...

    [R&F] Mapuche First Look

Pretty cool, but I feel like we already have a ton of military focused civs, even in this new expansion. We're gonna end up with Mongolia, India's new leader, Mapuche and most likely Zulu as your new militaristic civs. Feels like a lot to me. I was kinda hoping they'd take this civ in a...

    Language translations for leader sayings

Yeah, Wilhelmina speaks modern Dutch. From the limited footage available now, it looks like the on-screen translations are accurate. In one of quill18's Cree videos she says: "Nederland floreert met elke zending die u ons stuurt." which the game correctly translates to: The Netherlands...
