On Standard and smaller maps, if you fail to secure a religion you are creating an opportunity for the AI to easily obtain a religious victory. I realize you can create holy sites in different cities that have different religions and create missionaries to avoid a predominant religion but...
What are you supposed to do with all of these apostles? Some you can kill for the relic and others to convert a couple barbs but the rest? Is there some reason they get so many?
The newest iteration of the game surely has gotten away from beelining Technology and Tech Buildings. I just finished an India CV where I went relatively wide (9 cities) without any campus districts. My order was Commerce/Religious, Industry, Theater, and finally entertainment as I needed more...
I lost my first game today. After learning some of the mechanics on my first playthrough I decided to fire up a small Pangaea domination game with Tomyris. I'm cruising through Civs and get to Ghandi on the other side of the map, I had to cap 2 cities to get to Delhi and as I capped Calcutta...
In pic related why am I suffering ideological unhappiness? Three civs have received ideologies each with the same amount of influence with me and each a different ideology.
I've been playing more Continents Plus lately I find its somewhat more difficult to get 4 cities up and still be as happy/growing like I would with Pangaea or Continents.
Anybody out there go 3 cities into a mid game aggressive stage, OR do you still go 4 cities start?
I had that happen today out of the blue, I didn't vote for myself I voted for Persia whom I had a DOF and would have won anyway with the most diplomats and he voted all of his for me. Kind of Weird
I've never really used Resettlement as social tenet but could Indonesia make it work if you had a nice small island off of a Pangea plus or Continents Plus Map with Oil or Uranium? How quickly could you get it up to say 10 pop and start contributing back what you've put in assuming you are gold...
Tradition or Rationalism; assuming that there was a lock that prevented you from taking rationalism if you opened tradition. I know I'd just go Liberty into Rationalism but is there anyone that might go Tradition into something else like Patronage?
Military caste now eliminates unhappiness from civil unrest after capture.
What do you think about this change would you still prefer Tradition or Liberty in your Domination games?
So I'm playing a deity game on Oceania (a map from scrambled continents which by the way is really well done and IMO is the best water flavored map). I just finished producing my fleet of great galleasses and I go to select produce University and Hanging Gardens is still available on turn 115...
Korea is really good civ maybe the best civ for CV. I'm sure to many Korea fans already know this but I've only ran a few games with them and those were straight forward SV. Wonders provide something like a half GS worth of Science. Your guilds crank out science before Rationalism and get you...
When trying to decide whether or not to delete obsolete units it would be helpful to know whether those obsolete units contribute to your military strength. I might be inclined to play an Honor Game and keep my obsoletes in cities to gain +2 culture and +1 happiness and then go Autocracy and...
Going for a DOM victory on Small Continents/Deity with England. Went Tradition and then left side of Honor. I basically beelined SOLs and got to 50% experience from Military Tradition around the time I got to a critical mass of SOLs. The Tech pathing is probably not going to matter as I've...
Does anyone have experience dropping shrines from your Tradition build order on deity? I've already dropped them from my liberty openings where I open 3scout/2pathfinder openings on hill starts. Over the past several games I've been too late to get a pantheon, when I have gotten a pantheon its...
Playing a Deity Pangaea game with Attilla but I'm not really interesting on warring the entire game unless forced too. I sort of want to do a hybrid CV/DOM game and I'm wondering has anyone had success going three policies into Liberty and then going Aesthetics prior to Rationalism? I really...
Throwing down a deity level challenge on small continents featuring post patch Japan. Civs with naval strengths have been selected for this game to provide a bit more of a challenge since small continents and island maps are generally thought to be less challenging than Pangaea or Continents...
Assuming you can get Jesuit education which on Deity is a crap shoot at best, do you think you can get a decent SV turn time? I'm working on it and I think if you have the space to drop 5-6 cities Piety/Rationalism/Order might be competitive with a standard Tradition/Rationalism/Order SV. What...
