Haha, funny (:dubious:) story: After patching the game, it fails to load for me. Not the save, mind you - the game itself won't start! :wallbash: The screen goes black, the harddrive seems to spin from time to time, but then nothing happens - I've waited for several minutes before giving up...
Absolutely, thanks a lot! :goodjob: As a lurker who never opens the game, it's much easier to understand what's going on.
And forget my question about how many cities you plan to have...I understand surviving has a higher priority right now.
This is a somewhat late reply, but I needed my frustration to cool down somewhat before coming back to CFC. ;)
I for one would have liked to see this game finished as well, and if we get 1-2 volunteers that would be nice. I'd be willing to regularly check if I can load the save, and as I've...
Well, the save doesn't load for me. I don't know what to say, other than thanks to all for playing, lurking and commenting, and that I've liked to see this through. But in the end, the game has won: I'm fed up now with all the problems it throws at us trying to have fun.
Thanks for the game, all!
One reason for that was because we conquered our whole continent even though we wanted to pursue a space victory. Every Civ game would have been decided by then and the last turns boring, on almost all levels of difficulty. But refraining from conquering these idiot...
Thanks Gold for playing the turns - I know you've stopped playing Civ 5 completely, so kudos to you for trying to bring this SG to completion nonetheless! :goodjob:
That the save still crashes for SleepingMoogle doesn't sound well though. I'll try to load it myself tomorrow and see if I can...
During my turns, I re-bought alliance with Genoa and Singapore. Our research pact with Alex completed, and we got Dynamite out of it. I signed another one for the heck of it, even though it won't matter anymore. Later he asked for free wine, and I caved in simply for the sake of making the end...
It turns out I do have the Mongolia DLC installed, go figure. Sure would have been nice for the game to notify me of this (or even ask me before installing). I absolutely hate it if programs change things without my consent, if it's not security-related.
That means I still...
Okay, so MuLepton has an older Steam version than I do. Some threads indicate that this might be what causes the problems, but then I don't know how to fix that - I cannot revert back to an older version of Steam, and if MuLepton updates to the current version, in all likelihood we won't be able...
Sorry for the late answer, but it's not always easy to sneak in computer time on weekends due to the family. :crazyeye:
Steam updated for me, so I tried to load all three saves again - no dice, the game still crashes. (I won't buy the next Firaxis game before it's been out at least two months...
Congrats Firaxis: Shipping a game with broken game mechanics is one thing. Also having this kind of bugs still in the game after several patches is insulting. :wallbash:
MuLepton, could you try to play an additional turn and post the new save? Maybe that will work.
