I must emphasize that Civ III's civilopedia is the most intuitive, easy-to-use and best put together in-game manual I have ever seen. Good job Firaxis :)
Okay, I've been looking over the current compilations of strategy for this new game and something I've noticed is the inconsistancy of the community's opinion towards building workers first in their first city, or putting it off until their population grows more.
As most of you know, while...
Civilization Stories (along with Civilization Modding) embody the creative and artistic spirit of the Civilization Community. But what makes a story?
A story is more than a game report. It looks past the surface hammers-and-coins of the Civ Game. It sees beyond the gaming mechanisms and sees...
Something new about this game is that settlers and workers no longer cost you population, but instead stop all population growth while you're building it. All of the food you collect goes towards the unit instead of population growth.
That being said, when is the best itme to build a worker...
I have 4 neatly divided stacks of units, each with 3 swordsmen, a pair of their own catapults, and an axeman and a crossbowman apiece. Each one was has two promotions. That's 28 units.
They are parked outside of Washington, which is defended by 4 units (longbowmen and axemen assorted). I...
That's all I have to gripe about. The civilepedia isn't that well put together, and neither are the "advisor" screens. They're hard to navigate and to effectively use.
But other than that, great job Sid :)

Honestly, where is society coming to these days?

I've been playing Civ for a while, but I lost my disk, crashed my computer, and had many other bad things happen to me. Final story, I haven't played it for half a year. I just re-bought it a week ago.
I'd like to get my skill level back to how it was before. Maybe a...
Eh Can we sticky this?

Unlike Tomoyo's archives, this archive is dedicated to those solo story reports that are well-written, engaging, and praised by their readers. I will not hold strict prerequisites for qualification, but here are the basic guidelines:
1) The story must be...
Okay, well, Firaxis has released the Opening Soundtrack - Baba Yetu - to Civ4 already, and it's a pretty catchy tune (at least, to me). When I tried to find the lyrics, I got really stuck. Christopher Tin (the composer) appears to have mixed around the words of "The Lord's Prayer". "Baba...

I was thinking about this even before the details for Civ4 came out, and I was quite disappointed. Wouldn't it be better to name your own religions? Then there wouldn't be the confusion and gripe about religions that aren't in...religions that are...
Religions, as it seems, are pretty much...
The opening soundtrack to the game is nice. Does anyone know where I can find lyrics?
All I can find is the "Lord's Prayer" in Swahili, which coincidentally begins with "Baba Yetu"...
