It was more a matter of political correctness. No more discussion on the 'fatherland' or stuff like that. All the parties valued the importance of the partisans' resistance against the Axis as "true patriotism".
After WWII there were two main parties in Italy: the Christian Democrats and the...
Thank you, compliments from you are a honor!
And well, I'm taking a Ph.D. in Economics: believe me, I'm not that good in that stuff :D but in terms of actual money I think I usually know what I do; perhaps I should consider switching to a different career, what a fool I am! :p
:D
Oh, and with no cheating, no version upgrade, no changing code, no starting with France and no re-starting the game (I got the UHV with the same initial start I had tried previously - it's a matter of playing effectively, despite luck plays a role).
I DID IT!!! Thank you all for your support.
What I did was the following. I founded Timbuktu on the spot, Selagu or whatever it's called just north of the two Ivory resources, and sent one settler north to meet Spain. They traded CoL for Divine Right, and eventually opened borders. Then I...
Ah, and for a series of reasons, I don't want / I cannot upgrade my current version of RFC. I just want to understand whether the Malinese UHV in version 1.61, 600AD is absolutely impossible, or just very very difficult/rare. I really want to make it, I'm making all the UHVs in order, I've...
How can I attach images to show you my city placement?! I want to share a screenshot, but both the 'Attachments' icon and the 'Manage Attachments' don't work to me. Anyway, I found Timbuktu on the spot, and two cities in North African coast. Borrowing names from the Arabian city map, I found...
I tried again today; it took me long since my graduate classes have started again and I also had to relocate to a new home in the Bay Area.
Unfortunately, with ca. 3000g (ca. +70 per turn) I cannot get the first condition triggered. That is ridiculous, as in a couple of turns I would reach...
Thank you! i'll try this out, I didn't think about the Great Merchant. With that, I should be able to get 3000 gold!!! If that would not be enough, I would really become desperate.

Hi all,
as the title says, I'm stuck in my Malinese game - I know that the first UHV is the most troublesome (except maybe the first one of Ethiopia) and this is so in particular in the 600AD start; but I can't believe that some other civ has more than 2000 gold in 1300AD with a progression...
Another quick question for Rhye and for you all.
It's about the last UHV condition for Japan in version 1.61, never lose a single city before 1850. I understand that I have to avoid that foreign civs or barbarians conquer my cities, cities going independent due to instability is still ok; but...
Hi all,
I am currently playing with Germany trying to win the UHV. Per se, it looks quite easy with the only trouble being maintaining a decent research rate.
As I do not want to overexpand my Empire, I want to conquer as few cities as possible. Here's the question: how does technically...
You're right, I was confused by the count of the total citizens in 1200AD which is misleading, one should look at the demographics screen. Anyway, I finally won, thank you.

By updating BTS to 3.17 I could register the 2nd UHV but now I have problems with the last one, although I am sure of having the highest world population on 1200AD.
I have reported the problem in the proper bug thread, you will also find the save file from the year 1200AD...
Ok, I installed BTS 3.17 (I already had RFC 1.181 or 1.810 don't remember, downloaded in July) and I have no more problems with the 2nd UHV for Indians.
However, NOW IT IS THE 3rd UHV WHICH DOES NOT WORK (always playing as India).
I surely had the highest world population on 1200AD...
