I was under the impression that they just multiplied your tourism. But the game doesn't really explain much and most of the modifiers are additive.
For example Leaky (300% tourism from Artifacts) and Heritage Tourism (+100% tourism) is not 6x tourism from artifacts, but actually 3x (200+100)...
How do you do it?
Personally, I don't pursue a victory condition, but rather how inclined to war I will be and then eventually pick a win condition that goes along with it
So basically.
1.) Peaceful, only war when "needed". (Culture, Diplomatic). In some cases I won't even attack if they...
Has anyone noticed this? Usually renewing is pretty automatic but if the friendship/alliance ends a few turns before victory, they'll refuse to do it. Even more interesting is that they will renew instantly if you click one more turn after winning.
So does that mean the AI is aware you'll win...
So I just bought NFP, and wondered if there are any differences in terms of strategy between the two.
I know of the Diplomatic Quarter and the bonus for initial CS bonuses is smaller, but what else? How does the Quarter play into your games?
Also do people need NFP to play NFP with me?
They don't seem to be getting the boost from Pingala, Synthetic Technocracy, or Integrated Space Cell.,
So do we hit Synthetic Technocracy only for the power?
Only modifiers coming from Ruhr Valley and Amenities when I have Pingala's promotion.
So they changed the last diplo vote to be +2/-2 but you have to have 20 points by the start of your next turn. This means you cannot simply win just by having 20 points before the final +2/-2 vote like you could before. But this vote is basically impossible to win beyond small maps without an...
I can't move the sculpture out of this museum because the other art museums are off the page. I think the click instead of drag option works, but that option overall is pretty annoying and requires a restart.
Indeed I found it simpler to just trash the sculpture by giving away to people...
I've seen this going around but have been unable to confirm this. The problem is the game doesn't show progress of current tech and maybe I don't have enough gold to make a difference to reduce by a turn. Can anyone confirm?
Edit: Confirmed to not work. https://forums.civfanatics.com/posts/15702059
If you switch to a t3 government, you receive a tourism penalty if the other civs have not reached a t3 government, and also if they have a different one. If you are winning a cultural victory, the AI will generally be behind in the civics tree unless they are a cultural civ.
On the other hand...
Ok, serious question since I don't pay attention. I noticed the AI doesn't seem to clear its land or seems to ignore forests entirely.
If they Magnus chopped too, wouldn't they be harder?
With writing nerfed, it is now hard to do a pure book victory. Relics are also pretty nice but Kongo doesn't have an easy time getting those either. So culture victory now depends on faith for Rock Bands but Goddess of the Harvest is no longer there, Earth Goddess really doesn't work for Kongo...
So Diplo victory has received a little attention lately, and certain solutions to it have been considered, what should we say, not palatable to many. As a result, I figured we should talk about Diplomatic victory while not going for elimination of other civs. There's certainly been a lot of...
So it seems like a good idea to purposely offend the AI so they offer you favor for free. At the same time, it costs a heck of a lot to ask them to do something. And even so, 25 grievances doesn't really mean much.
I guess you can gain extra CB like Holy War. But is it ever really worth it?
So I received word that if you can't win before t200 on any map (normal speed) that your game is invalid and if it's like t219 or something you should probably uninstall. Now am I aware you can get decent win times on some maps, but I'm at a loss here on how one can always get Political...
So I was thinking. Every game since Rise and Fall I built Oracle every game and rush grants. I knew of strategies where you rush Apadana and Great lib. But now with writers being nerfed, is that really worth it any more?
Also the Great Library goes so fast. >>
Well, this is an old favorite that's made its way back into Civ. A few thoughts:
* The City States being on the new world side means the pace is slower because there are less lucky CS's to inflate your early yields. This balances things quite a bit. But obviously it's harder to cook a map which...
I usually never manage to make a Military Engineer, so I tried to get one for Railroads. I wanted to make tunnels too but that's so late in the tech tree. With England's Workshop of the World now giving ridiculous amounts of coal and harbor buildings giving really deep stockpiles, I had more of...
