Is it? That's really exciting to hear. I haven't tried a new game since the patch, because I'd found the AI to easy at King/Emperor and the game not fun to play at higher settings.
But that sounds promising!
Come back in a few years after 2 expansions and the game will be significantly different. It's a very fun game on it's own right now, but a dissapointment when I compare it to CiV (complete) or Civ IV.
On the bright side, I remember feeling this way about V when it came out and went back to 4...
Hey I've never created a mod before, but after listening to a cool interview with Yuval Noah Harari about his book Homo Deus about the possible evolution of Homo Sapiens into another species (way over simplification), I started thinking that it would be fun to see a mod with differing homo...
You just have to know that there will be more barbarians in the early game. Once you understand that, it's easy to take care of them. The game requires a mind shift from CiV just like CiV required a mind shift from Civ IV.
Are their issues with the game? Sure, but I think early barbs is a...
Just wanted to drop a note saying thank you and that I love this mod. I didn't realize how many little things in the UI I found aggravating that your mod fixes. Probably my favorite thing is the return of the city screen and repeat trade route!
It's a shame good mods like this can't have a...
Okay, I'll check out the mod for my next game. When I'm counting, am I counting city center to city center? Or am I counting industrial zone/entertainment zone to city center?
Is there a quick and easy way to see what cities are within range for my zoos and factories? Something like a lens or a mod like EUI showed city limits? I hate having to count tiles each time. And is it 6 tiles from city center to city center or is it from the location of the entertainment...
Ah adulthood! When I got into Civ, there was nothing to put off other than household chores. Now, it's see if I can squeeze in an hour after everyone goes to bed or maybe sleep is just more important tonight. I tell you sleep has won so much that I don't know if I can classify myself as a...
It's such a hard habit to get back into now. Years of building just 4 cities for tradition and then holding until I wanted to conquer places...or more often just going for a space race victory. It's weird to think that I should expand more than that now...but I used to spam settlers like crazy...
Did you try it with any of the major mods like the Community Patch/Vox? Or Communitas? I started with Communitas when Thalisicus was still updating that mod, and it reinvigorated my interest in CiV.
That's not true at all. For the people posting on these forums, they might prefer playing with AI mods. Most people playing civ aren't "fanatics" and don't have an issue with the gameplay. This is anecdotal, but my wife plays Civ and enjoys it. She plays on Chieftan and has a lot of fun with the...
I've been enjoying playing CiV again recently and I'm wondering what people think the best AI mod is?
I've tried Community Patch without the gameplay changes and I've tried Artificial Unintelligence. I tend to play on Emperor and found that the AI played better with Artificial Unintelligence...
Okay that's good to know I've been refusing all trade deals lately because many of my cities have negative amenities, but couldn't find an in game explanation of which luxuries were impacting what.
I'm a bit confused as to how amenities and luxury resources work. I know one luxury resource can provide something like 4 amenity (1 to each city). If I have 2 of the same luxury resource and 8 cities, does each city then automaticlaly have 1 amenity? If I trade the resource do 4 of the cities...
I remember logging on here and reading about day 1 CD problems with Civ 4. I can't remember what it was exactly maybe the play and install disc were mislabeled? I love Civ 4, it's still my favorite of the series...but let's not look at it with rose colored glasses. There were bugs, AI issues...
