Umm, ever heard of Doom 3 or Quake 4;) Yes, Civ 4 is demanding, especially for a turn-based strategy game, but it isn't that abd when compared to a first-person shooter.

Well, I'm running RC1 (5600) and it works great, except the pointer/mouse flashes constantly and is jerky, making it impossible to actually play. Anyone have any ideas? Is there any way to force Civ4 to not use its special pointer graphic and just use the normal Windows pointer?

Yah, I found the same thing. Neitehr Best Buy nor Circuit City nor Wal-Mart had it. Best Buy even had a little display that said Warlords - July 25th, but the guy said it is backloged for 1-2 weeks! Finally got it at Game Stop, a local game-only shop. Had to wait for the guy to inventory it ;)

First off, Warlords only officially supports 2000 and XP, so chances are you will have problems using 98. Second, add more RAM. And tjird, what are the specs on the ATI card? ATI has made a lot of cards, one option may to upgrade your graphics.

I got mine too, 4 stores latter. I tried Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Circuit City, sone of them had it. Best Buy said it would be 1-2 weeks! So I went to my local game-only store (Game Stop) and he was just putting it in the system, so I waited 5 minutes and got mine. Now to go and install it.

I like Epic, but I use teh Game Seed Tuner to lower the number of turns it takes to make units. That way they are more current longer, istead of beingreplaced by a more advanced unit too soon.

Does the DVD have any copy-protection? If not, you can just use a DVD copying prgram (Roxio makes one) and copy the disk.

Having both iWork and MS Office, I wouldn't recomend going with just iWork. With Pages 2 you can export your file as Word, but you may loose some of the formating if you are doing anything other than black text. And though Pages 2 now has some of the features that I use most in Word...
