    Religion in Civ 4 again!!

That point is that for gameplay reasons, the player is given much more control over religion than leaders in history have. Players should be able to be directly responsible for their success/failure in a game, and having random events occur causes imbalances.

Full music names, for those extracting the soundtrack

Ok, I've added the parts of the Medieval era that I know. I was able to find the exact recordings for many of them on Amazon by listening to the samples.

Anyone else "scared" by the Liberalism and Circumvate sound?

Yeah, the liberalism/global warming sound is quite freaky. Compared to the other sounds it's loud and out of place, sounds a bit like a siren: "VREEEEEWWWWW". I too sometimes panic when I hear the "declared war" sound, as this often occurs while I am waiting for my next turn to start, and I can...

Thanks for the offer :) Name as many tracks as you can, I need all the help I can get :D And yeah I will name the Bach tracks J.S Bach to disambiguate. Specifics I'll need help with: - Most of the Medieval stuff isn't hard to name, but for those "Anonymous" and "Chant" ones I have no...

Full music names, for those extracting the soundtrack

This thread is to provide information of the music used in Civ 4, to allow people who loved the soundtrack (or parts of it) to be able to copy it into their own music folders and be able to tag and label the mp3s correctly. For those looking for more, where possible I'll also supply links to...

Play epic or above (if you can)

Anyone notice that the timeline gets skewed when playing Marathon? On normal the periods progress nicely, Classical starts in the BC, Medieval about 800-1100AD, Renaissance in 1400ish, and the Industrial Revolution during the 17th-19th Century. But I've played a couple of Marathon games and I...

    Inflation?

Thanks for that. After pages and pages of economic history and theory, we finally get something useful to help us with Civ 4 :P

Which is your favorite starting resource?

Yup, stone for faster Stonehenge and Pyramids. Second would be some good clam/fish/corn resources so I can grow quickly and whip my citizens into making units and buildings.

    Cats kill culture?

Indeed, the glorious German rebirth and efficient management versus the evil treacherous Greeks is only an example :P

Confessions: Do you reload battles if it doesnt go your way?

It is always disappointing to lose 75%+ odds battles, however this is balanced by the fact that sometimes you win 20% battles, which is a nice surprise. Once I figured that in the end it balances out, I stopped reloading battles.

    To automate, or not?

Rather than automating, I like to send my workers on long shift-queued missions. This way I don't have to keep moving and setting orders whenever they finish something.

    Tile improvements: Emphasise or balance?

Great tips, thanks. Normally I'd just automate for food/production and not consider the optimal size of my cities. I'll try to do a bit more manual citizen management from now on.

    Explorers

Great idea on making them medics... Also, the Sentry promotion is available to Explorers, which will be useful now so I don't have to make one of my knights/cavalry into a 'spotter' to help defend my main stacks.

    Tile improvements: Emphasise or balance?

No way, I never thought of it like that... so it really doesn't matter eh hmm, thanks for that :)

    Tile improvements: Emphasise or balance?

I'd like to know which type of improvements you build where. My main strategy when it comes to improvements is to emphasise the square's natural productivity, with farms on grassland and flood plains, mines on hills, and cottages on plains. But I have heard some people like to go with...

    Snaitf's Great General

This is a cool mod... One thing about the name... a 'soldier' doesn't exactly imply specialist, perhaps the name 'commander' or 'captain' would better suit? I'm not sure if this is implemented since I haven't read through all the pages, but some prerequisites for soldier specialists would be...

What about a great military leader?

There is a "great general" mod in the customization forums, and he can found a military academy. Check it out. http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=145525
