[TOT] CivSprite 2 beta (Create ToT animating sprite files)

Thanks @Blake00 for trying it out, the kind words and editing my post! I've fixed the link, but left the attachment you added too. My site should still work. But on HTTPS it's in a slightly different location: https://user.fm/civ2.mercator.fastmail.fm/ Oh, and I don't think the mask does...

    civsprite

I'm not really back exactly, just passing through, but thanks @techumseh and @Fairline. :) You might want to look at that thread I linked to. :p https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/civsprite-2-beta-create-tot-sprite-files.658428/ It's a new version of CivSprite that is more powerful. Well...

[TOT] CivSprite 2 beta (Create ToT animating sprite files)

I've updated the download link. I tweaked it a bit so now you can basically use it like SpriteGen as well to create Static.spr files from existing units.bmp files. There are some text config files included unitsbmp_to_staticspr... that let you do that.

[TOT] CivSprite 2 beta (Create ToT animating sprite files)

https://user.fm/civ2.mercator.fastmail.fm/mapedit/files/CivSprite2beta2.zip If link doesn't work, use mirror download attached to this post - Blake00 Looks a bit similar to CivSprite 1.0 except uglier. But in contrast with CivSprite 1.0 you now have full control over the animations you create...

    SL Wiki Favicon

Easiest way: 1. Create a nice-looking image (which still looks nice when reduced to 16x16), 2. turn it into a favicon using http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/ and 3. upload it (into the same folder as the index.php; the icon file must have the name "favicon.ico"). Here's a...

How do I get civ ii up and running again?

That's not Civ2, that's Civ1! And it looks like it's the DOS version too. You'll need DOSBox to run that.

    Economy.

Advanced Scenario Design dates back to 1997 or something (before MGE and ToT at least). It's still a very good guide, but don't use it as gospel, since a lot of things have changed since then. You'll probably find all the scenarios referenced in it among the old civ2 downloads at Apolyton...

    I can't install my civ2 cd

If you still have your old computer with Civ2 on it, too, the first thing you should try is simply copying over the Civ2 folder to your new computer. That will work fine, unless you have a 64-bit Windows 7...

    Can't make people into Scientists

You can get Specialists by turning a worker into one... In the city window, click on one of the city squares that's being worked for food/trade/shields. You'll see one of your citizens turn into an Elvis. Now click on the Elvis once to get a Taxman, click on the Taxman again to get a...

    2 separate DL Databases?

That was the plan... The one accessible through "Downloads" is part of the forum software, which they added a couple of years ago. The one under Civ2 is the old one they had before that. The old one should be integrated into the new one, but no-one has taken the time to do so yet, because...

    Civilization 2 for Mac

Ooh, nice... :goodjob: I just had a go and installed Civ2 on Ubuntu Linux using CrossOver (and Ubuntu itself was running under Microsoft Virtual PC in Windows)... Civ2 classic seemed to work, though it was rather slow, and the colours were all wrong, but that was probably due to the fact that...

    Civilization 2 for Mac

Take my answer with a pinch of salt. I don't actually have a Mac... You could probably still find it (e.g. on Ebay or Amazon), but I don't think it will run... Civ2 was ported to Mac OS 9 (or earlier?) and, as far as I know, such applications will no longer run on Intel-based Macs. If your...

    disappearing build-options

As far as I can remember, paradropping was a bit of a favourite strategy of the AI in combination with nukes, so I can't imagine paradropping kills hot-seat games. It might be something peculiar about the scenario and its events. Is it with all cities? On any turn? By any civilization? I can...

Howto make a very good map....

Have you seen these two guides of mine? http://www.civgaming.net/mercator/reference/mapmaking.html http://www.civgaming.net/mercator/reference/mapguide.html Admittedly they only describe half the process, and leave out the most important and time-consuming part, adding the terrain types...

    how to increase unit types

Nope, not possible. The only thing you can do is get Civ2: Test of Time. That has 81 units.

    More civs

You're thinking along the right lines, but your explanation is incorrect. The maximum isn't 8 because they're using 3 bits (bit = binary digit). It's 8 because they're using 8 bits (= 1 byte). For example, each map tile holds information on which civilizations have discovered it (to determine...

Can't use Setup.bat, DOS window closes

You're missing "choice.com". That's a DOS program included with earlier versions of Windows, but not with XP. You can find it here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=2752292 Put it in the scenario folder. Or better still, put it in your windows system directory (probably...
