    Unhappiness and uprisings

I've noticed, as I perpetually find myself mired in unhappiness from the mid-game on, that: The clock for city revolt doesn't seem to reset at 20 turns if you get unhappiness under 20 for a turn; It seems to accelerate if you go over 30 unhappiness; and... Rebels spawn in huge numbers after the...

    Progress happiness issues

My game is improving against the new changes again, which is great. But as I do stuff which helps me grow more, I consistently hit a wall in the late Renaissance where my 10-13 city Progress civ crashes with unhappiness. This is with me doing well militarily, culturally, and in science, and...

    Improving AI Combat

The AI gets better at fighting with almost very new release of the mod. But I've noticed tow tendencies in my games which consistently hurt its performance. I'd like to get others' opinions on this, as well as similar issues that may come up in your games. 1) Post-gunpowder AI navies are...

    Cultural Victories

I'm giving this a thread of its own, rather than it being orphaned in State of the Union, and elsewhere. In response to complaints of imbalance, Gazebo made it harder to win a CV, in a manner aimed at to a meaningful degree at runaways. Having played a few games with the new patch, I can confirm...

    Progress on Immortal

I've hit a wall in trying to win a Science victory on Immortal. This has been playing Carthage and Indonesia. I've come close a couple of times and lost to a runaway, but most of the time I hit an unhappiness wall while In Rationalism, or have a science/culture imbalance (both ways at different...

Science VC on Emperor with Tradition

I’ve been trying to formalize winning Science victories consistently on Emperor, without being undone by my usual enemies, low culture and resultant unhappiness. I played games with the Dutch, the English, and finally the Americans, choosing later-blooming civs civs that don’t tilt heavily...

    Hotseat ?

I've been playing the CBP mod non-stop the last few days after a two year layoff from Civ5, and love it. I want to play with my girlfriend, but can't figure out how to both load the mods and arrive at a Hotseat option. Do I just click "human" on Civ #2?

Improving the AI: a modest proposal

Everyone knows the combat AI could be a lot better, and most know how hard it is to achieve that. There are also countless small adjustments that would improve AI behavior. What I'm proposing here for the fall patch are two simple core changes that have game-long impact and are guaranteed to...

    Balancing the Victory Conditions

BNW is a transformative leap over G&K, making balance more necessary than ever, and a Culture Victory the most interesting, rather than the least. But the AI in general still gives the player too much of a break, ignoring a tech or gold edge big enough to win a SV or DV. The game could be much...

    Choosing a Map

I pretty much play Continents and Continents Plus, because they seem the most balanced, in terms of giving all civs a roughly equal chance. I really like the variety of C+, but wish that the CS weren't so heavily concentrated off-shore. Is there a map that splits the difference? Maybe a modded...

    Immortal has become tougher.

Pre-patch, I had won all but one of dozens of Immortal games (all science victories). I've played 6 games with the new patch on Immortal, using Continents Plus maps. I won two without going to war, a third in which I had a tough early fight, and quit two after losing cities. In all the games I...

3 ways to improve the AI in the next patch

The AI is much improved in my opinion, but there are three simple ways the AI could be improved in the next patch: spend most of its gold above an era-based threshold (flavor-dependent, not all on units; AI bonuses would need rebalancing) pillage when not attacking (barbs, too) escort settlers...

    Triremes in deep water

I was unable to shoot a dromon with a turtle ship because the dromon was in deep water.

    The AI & Naval Offensives

In my first game with G&K, the AI took another AI city with naval units. In general, the AI plays aggressive defense with its naval units, especially via the use of wolfpacks. But in games on Continents Plus, I've noticed very little of the expected attacks on cities. Does the AI need some...

    (Not a bug) Polder bug

Polders replace windmills on the tech tree, but are listed as windmills on the city build screen (not polders), and don't seem to have any benefits apart from increased production.

    UI DoF bug

On occasion - maybe when asking too often - the AI doesn't respond to requests for DoF's.

    Hotseat diplomacy bug

Playing Hotseat, after a certain point in time the Diplomacy screen no longer allows contact with other players, AI, or CS. You have to open the Additional Information screen, click Diplomacy Overview, then open Global Politics to communicate. I've confirmed this over two games.

Agreement to go to war bug

I agreed to go to war in ten turns vs the same civ four times over a three-turn span. All of them declared war on that civ. None asked me to deliver 10 turns later.

    Nationalism

I'm basically done with Featured Game 5, in which I filled out most of Nationalism. I wound up with about 15 cities, and had happiness in the 20-40 range, building only a few theaters and making no effort to curb population at any point in the game. That left me pretty shocked. It felt like it's...

    v158.2/Featured Game CS Bug

On two occasions I have been both friends with and at war against the same CS. This results in a notification that the CS has declared war on itself. In both cases, I believe the CS were not originally allies who then went rogue, but rather CS that were friends with me and allied with the enemy AI.
