This could end badly for one Otto Goggle.

Evening Three​

Once again a protective spell had worked so some of the party felt bolstered by its magics. Would it be enough to overcome any attacks this afternoon, was all that they were left wondering as they continued to climb into the mountains.

Also debated in the early afternoon, was what to do with all the items. Eventually, a decision was reached on who to give most of the things. Otto Goggle geared himself up with his newfound weapon and armor, the potions were distributed to Harold Amal and Otto Von Ventiari, but the Potion-making Kit was hotly contested by numerous people so wasn't given to anyone today.

Before the day was out though, as many seemed to know who happen, the party was attacked again. This time, Elemental creatures came straight at the whole group, though a few warriors were shoved forward and their supporters gathered around them.



As a couple of good warriors had already perished, James seemed to want to prove himself the next natural leader, acting noble in his posturing.

"How many men will stand with me? Today, we shall taste victory!" He cried out. It would have seemed he and his supporters were up to the task, expecting a group of seven altogether who were rallied and ready to fight.

But then, it was noticed Otto Goggle was missing - he'd apparently been at the center of the conflict with the Earth Elemental crashing down the hillsides towards the party.

Another supporter had, most disappointingly, been too slow to join the fight, hiking up a trail some hundred meters away and it was too late to make a difference.

Still, the battle was fought hard, and so very close. A couple combatants were bolstered with magical strength or just resisting anything Ngoogol might dish out in turn. In the end it wasn't enough though, as the creature discerned James as the leader of this group, and focused it's searing flames on him.



"No, it was not my time, not like this!"



In the meantime, a smaller but tougher group of fighters had gathered with Otto Goggle to fight the Earth Elemental. He was certainly doing his part, wielding his weapons with an expertise that few unexperienced youngsters would have matched.

The first to run into trouble, though, was Honorius Cummerbund. Honorius wasn't quite suited to combat of this sort, and tried to activate some magical effects to his aid but things weren't in place. The physically powerful blows of rock and stone threw him aside, and Honorius Cummerbund was injured.

Much worse, however, was to come in the finale of this fight. It appeared this group might almost have had the edge on Ngoogol's creature, but as in days past, more monsters seemed to show up and interefere. Some sort of terrible spirit went right for one of their number, taking up all his attention just to fight it off.

So this left the Earth Elemental able to descend on Otto Goggle, finally, with sickening blows, and broke through his strength regardless of armor or sword.



"This magic is evil, vile rubbish! Avenge us!"

This time the party had clearly fought the Elementals hard enough to drive them away on their own though...but the deaths were devastating yet again, and everyone had a feeling they would still be back.

Takhisis - your nomination/support votes were after the voting cutoff...just barely at that, but remember it's on the hour on some hour...

That's what comes out of skimming the thread… I thought it was a 48-hour limit as with the item votes

I knew there was something fishy about James Kobe of the unknown faction. Perhaps he was working with Atto Gnoogle and wanted to win a fight to put himself above suspicion.
