Game Thread: The Life and Times of Atto Ngoogol

I'm trying to fit the names of Saturn into any of the remaining five… any help'd be welcome.

Saturn the planet or the rocket or...?

That was a typo, I'm trying to fit the names of Saturn's moons, and Jupiter's moons, and Neptune's and Uranus' (get over the joke already!) moons to no avail. I need a list of moons by alphabetical order…

I didn't ask for a clue, I was out playing football today, came home, had dinner and fell asleep Logged in about half an hour before midnight…

my answer:

As soon as it seemed like they had picked things back up, there was bad news - everyone could seem to just tell that there were creatures waiting in ambush. The group hastened to arm themselves and finish whatever additional magical preparations some of the adventurers did. Cindy had once again been trusted with a couple of items, though whether that would matter in battle today was yet unknown.


Puzzle Details:


Once again an elemental spirit possessing a vast body of stone and dirt lumbered out to block the way, and the party had nothing to do for it but fight their way through.



Lo Hwang once again was able to call upon several friends to fight together, and many skilled warriors attacked with precision and deftness. Unlike against their last foe where single, powerful blows amplified by magic could only quell the flames, this creature was brought down more by attrition. Lumps of enchanted earth were hacked away as the team dodged the heavy blows of the creature in turn, till finally it seemed to collapse upon itself, the summoned spirit gone for now.

The Earth Elemental was defeated, and weakened!



Ngoogol had more up his sleeve, however, and had conjured up another creature in place of the lost Fire Elemental from days past. What sounded like a roaring wave of water coalesced over the land and attacked the group from another angle.

Grof Mouthbreather had been chosen to stand guard and lead the rest of the party in just such an event. So he was the first to stride up towards the creature, a small axe in hand and prepared with who knew what exact magics.

Then, something unusual happened. Grof stood in place and began laughing, and the surface of his armor broke out with sparkling lights as the creature surged towards him, and past him, straight towards the rest of the group.

With some of the others still battling the Earth Elemental, there was chaos, and the bravest warriors who got back in time to fend off this attack weren't in good shape for it either.

Several people were injured.

It took a while to regroup after the battle. Grof received a lot of dirty looks and his response didn’t help.

“What? I didn’t do anything”

Everyone was too wary of more fighting to risk internal conflicts so spent much of the afternoon licking their wounds and then settling in for the night.

All right, so some things:

I'd like everybody to be able to continue to be active every single Day Phase if possible, so a heads up on that for the next day. Voting is required, even an "abstain" but you should be able to post and vote, think a couple of folks missed a day or two scattered about still.

I'm thinking Night Phase tonight will end as normal maybe just a couple hours short tonight but Day 7 might be long, 72 hours, or maybe just the midday update late, heads up on that too.

Someone was missing again. It took longer to figure out who it was, and the scene when discovered was the oddest yet, though no less disturbing for it.

There were marks of terrible magical energies scorched all around, and hardly a body to be found. More like, a pile of dust with all sorts of items strewn about. Spiral cuts ran all the way through into the ground itself as it seems the "body" had been pinned in place in Cindy's last moments.



Cindy had a large number of possessions that would just be put up to vote.

It wasn't clear at all if this was yet another act of vengeance on Ngoogol's behalf, or someone else, but as the day began the party would still have to prepare for the usual.

I Otto von Venati shall defeat the elementals this turn. Please give you your support. As such, I vote the Keen Sword to me.

I believe Anna knows what to do with the potion kit and smooth stone.
Otto von Venati will probably need the keen sword, though this vote may change if the nomination vote goes another way.

Did you not see Grof send the water elemental to attack the rest of our group? Why are you sending items to Yarai, Elvsh, and Anna? Hmmm.

First of all, may I say I wish to solve the puzzle.

As for the items:

Please note Otto, that while the sword will give you a strength bonus, it is evil, and must be destroyed in the future.

Now I do not wish to send you to battle Otto, unless you feel you can get enough allies together to help. 3 of the usual allies are injured, however you may still be able to gt enough strength together to defeat a weakened Earth elemental, in which case you can have my nomination.
If you do not feel you can get sufficient strength together (the sword grants +1), we should send some other person to the earth elemental. One of the people who haven't been mentioned a lot, like Yarai, or Elvsh Darkfoot perhaps, who have thus far been able to hide in the shadows.

Also, if people support you, I'm just a little weary of Grof being able to avoid his elemental again, and another few people become injured for the night.

Well, it was nice spending some time on this plane. I'll be watching from my original homeworld with interest.
