Revolution IOT

well Ilduce rage-quits just because i play the game. arguments like that are common, and the arguments i had in the past alleged 10 pages had a point. its supposed to show that i am seriously conflicted in the war.

glad to know that i still drive people insane. by just existing. that's a wonderful thing to know :(

Just ignore Math when he's not talking to or about you, Ilduce. Just quicksearch your name when you get to one of his posts or something.

I know hes a bit of a troll but Im a troll cannibal!!!!!1!!! no seriously I think Sonereal should enforce a rule were you must bold diplomatic stuff

I had a rule like that? Because for the most part, I ignore the diplomacy in this thread unless I want the NPCs to do something and only look into the claims thread. Of course, I absolutely love TK's Treaty posts and such.

There have only been two pages since I last posted compared to the possible 10 or 15 in the same amount of time I would see in IOT6 until later updates. They're not hard to read through (which is why I do).

In any case...sigh.

the reason why thers only 2 pages instead of ten is because i am actually behaving myself. no Powergaming armies or insane tech, or a massive military. hmm.

that last one reminds me. Sonereal, would having 200 armies mean that over half the population is in the military or something?

Not all armies are the same size, actually. Instead of me flat out saying that there's 80,000-200,000 troops in an army, I'm leaving that number totally open ended since the Soviets, during WW2, had a lovely habit of having armies the size of corps.

So, open ended. 200 Armies could really just be 200 corp sized groups for the purposes of the super secret AAR I'm going to do on this. Of course, saying you have 35 million people in your army or something stupid like that is something that's just going to draw the ire of the players and would be ignored when I work on the AAR and Update.

So, armies can range anywhere between 20,000 and 200,000.

That's why I love what I'm doing when it comes to listing casualties since, that in itself doesn't entirely reflect the troop levels on either side. :)

well, i propose a hard limit on the number of armies, so that one player doesn't dominate the world with 500 armies eventually. i sugfgest 50 or 75 or even 100 armies. for every 1 army above the set limit, 1 LP is taken away because of high upkeep.

Why?

100 Corp-sized armies is only 2,000,000 troops give or take a million. There's no reason to impose hardcaps. It makes things very interesting. After all, the nations that are reaching record highs in the army levels are probably neglecting WMD research. Where they win through brute force, others may win through technological prowess.

If somebody manages to reach 500 armies, that sounds like a problem of international apathy, not a game problem. I hate doing hardcaps like that because it restricts diplomacy (like arms reduction treaties or something).

At the moment, the size of the largest army on the planet ranges from either 2,140,000 troops to 21,400,000 and for all the hell I know, a lot of those could just be conscripts or reserves.

I'm probably going to implement a game rule soon that allows players to decomission armies and navies for half the cost returned. So, 2 armies=1 LP and one navy=1 LP.

In other words, if you have 500 armies, other people can just nuke you.

you can have 500 armies and a lot of nukes at some point...

Refunding Navies and Armies

Navies and Armies can be responded for half their price. In this case, you have to decom armies in pairs. Decomming navies gives you back 1 LP. 2 armies give you back one LP.

Do you get the points straight away or next turn?

Update 7

1962
Spoiler :

The year has been relatively light on the dying. The war ranges in the Bahamas, Central America, and Somalia as the Anti-Piracy Alliance destroys the Pirate King's Army. Meanwhile, Egypt and the Holy Land continue to fight but that's old news by now.

OOC: Remember, the WMD Program costs are the minimum cost to get the program started (and immune from certain espionage nastiness). Every point above the minimum increases your chance of success each turn by 1%.

You might want to change Sinai back to salmon, because I'm pretty sure you confused yourself and gave Dommy another LP.

Schiesse.

I forgot to edit in the old map.

Gimme a second.

I should have control of the Southeast Pacific. And would Hawaii like to sell Panama to me?
