Yep, my buddy in survival! However, whether Kidush lives or dies doesn't affect our goals, only one of us needs to survive the game. I am just telling this to you so you can roleblock someone else instead of wasting it on Kidush.
But hey, go ahead and roleblock Kidush - doesn't really matter to me.
Lucky for all cowards my special ability comes into play tonight.
If Ceroz is telling the truth then Jacob is a better choice. My comment about my 3 str/1spec ability was not a threat to cowards but a guarantee of victory. Fight tomorrow and share the glory of a monumental defeat of an evil menace. Flee and you survive the battle against Ngoogle, but you will surely not survive my wrath in the epilogue.
Some members of the group had kept watch, or tried to do something with others during the night, but no matter how that went, there was one reality that faced them in the morning: two of their number were missing.
It quickly transpired that no bodies or signs of conflict were to be found; Ceroz Molten and Kidush Pogar had fled. Some gear and trinkets they'd left behind suggested:
Spoiler:
Zack was Ceroz Molten, an Evil-aligned orcish ritualist and Tangtzenist! CivGeneral was Kidush Pogar, an Evil-aligned orcish cultist and Tangtzenist!
And these actions quite clearly showed that
Spoiler:
All Tangtzenists have left the party
They had survived and abandoned the group - whatever other goals they had on this quest the remainder of the party might guess at but they wouldn't be around to tell.
Otherwise, it was right back to work as the party had very rapidly succeeded at tearing down the magic wards enclosing Ngoogol's hideout, only sifting and blasting through rock and preparing to fight their way in remained.
(I can verify you already have the correct puzzle solution, if there is discussion/questions I can cover that later to follow perhaps. Nice and rather fast work, good job all).
No items are up to vote today, in fact there are no votes to be made. Items may still be transferred, Day orders may still be given.
It is Now Morning Eleven
Send me Orders
End of Day in 24 Hours
So not only were Ceroz and Kidush evil, as somewhat expected, but they are cowards too. I guess that leaves us with a clear path to Ngoogol. I kind of expected an attack last night. I even finished brewing a healing potion, but that's now useless. I'm guessing seeing as there were no attacks last night, that Ceroz and Kidush were the last evil-aligned.
Actually I was really considering putting a notice about voting in the poll with that morning update, you could if you want now or wait till after the final conclusion to the game.
The party stood in front of a sealed off tunnel of rock. They were armed and ready, it was time to fight.
“As we know, we’ve succeeded in getting all the wards and defenses down, Ngoogol’s all but ran out of wicked magics, stand back and we’ll blast through. We go in and don’t ever let that gnome on the other side out.”
And so through a cloud of dust and in deep darkness the group charged into Ngoogol’s lair, prepared to fight to the last man.
There were signs some things were further amiss though, when a head count would show show that someone hadn’t followed the plan.
“Hey, what are you doing?” but that questioned answered itself. Jacob Keal was trying to attack the rest of the party from behind; he had sided with Ngoogol.
His blows were pitifully weak to the seasoned warrior he had attacked however, who brushed off the attacks with far superior swordplay and cut him down.
Spoiler:
TheLastOne36 was Jacob Keal, an Evil-aligned human and Ally of Atto Ngoogol!
With Ngoogol located and still casting scarily dangerous spells, at the forefront were Irobal Sebermersé and Honorius Cummerbund who had cooperated and survived this whole quest together and weren’t about to give up now. Two against one they were enough of a match to hold Ngoogol’s offensive magics at bay even as the others made more progress in backing him into a corner.
Just then, however, another man charged forward to interefere. The Battler had hung back from the start unnoticed as everyone had been focusing on Ngoogol, preparing his own spells and strategies. He unleashed his attack on the two Sun Mages, trying to break their wills and sap their magic in aid of Ngoogol.
Honorius and Irobal were now on the back foot, but still desperately holding their own defenses. Then, all of a sudden, The Battler was the one to fall, he had been maced by Anna who had charged at him and knocked him down, his concentration collapsing and his magic now useless.
Spoiler:
Seon was The Battler, a Neutral-aligned sorcerer and Ally of Atto Ngoogol
“Ngoogol you fool, there were so many more secrets magics for us to discover and your weakness has failed us” There was only bitterness in his words as he bled out on the rocky floor, but his curses carried no more strength.
So finally, the party turned on the weakened gnome. His magic was spent, he had nowhere to run, and would aim for no glory in death, fighting to the very end. and struck a fatal blow.
Spoiler:
Atto Ngoogol, the evil Gnomish Wizard, has been slain!
There was silence as everyone had still been on guard and exhausted from fighting, then, slowly, cheers and celebrations began to echo throughout the caves.
There was no shortage of damage control to be done after the battle, to avoid cave-ins at the least, and then quickly look for traps and uncover what was left in this hideout. Ngoogol had many rare and powerful magical items and not a small share of pilfered wealth, gold and gems and other luxuries. And most of all, countless focuses and instruments for summoning monsters and creatures, those that were too evil would have to destroyed and the magically-inclined could feel the rightness of setting such things back to the proper balance of nature.
Back in the larger cavern, however, Honorius had felt something was wrong; his fellow mage Irobal agreed. Pretty soon they noticed there was a spirit of some sort lingering about ready to wreak more havoc if it wasn’t reined it.
“This fight is over, you have lost. You must leave this world!”
And so even as the body of Jacob Keal was motionless and abandoned the spirit still tried to escape banishment, but it had nowhere else to go and skilled magicians working against it.
“No, I must have my vengeance, NOOOOOO”
Spoiler:
TheLastOne36 was Ash’ani, a Neutral-aligned Ghost!
One of the warriors had then gone once more to the fallen body of Ngoogol, just a bit apprehensive, but he was well and truly dead. He couldn’t help but chuckle and vent his emotions.
“I told you he was a sad, weak person. Would never stand up to our righteous blades. He represented so many wrong things in this world, greed and cowardice and lack of compassion, and even his followers meet the same wicked fate.”
Innocent Victory!

Harold Amal and Otto von Ventiari, longtime friends and comrades-in-arms, had nothing left to do but discuss how remarkable this journey realy had been. They’d once been part of mercenaries bands with dozens to hundreds of men, but this lone adventuring thing was maybe starting to strike a fancy.
“It’s really all over, we’ll be wealthy and famous beyond our dreams you know. Figure we’d be offered positions as officers, generals in the army if we wanted, but you know I think I ought to retire from soldiering “ Harold saw fit to tell his friend.
Otto had actually known many more trades over the years, and wasn’t sure what he would settle down into, but his future looked as bright as the sun in the clear blue mountain skies when the group got out of those wretched caves….
Still, there were some loose ends that troubled others at the back of their minds, indeed it would be hard to live through such struggles without thinking about the downsides. As the party had surmised the orcish cultists really were gone, they would not be seen again by any of their eyes. However it was a sad realization when they had time to mull over the events of the last few days, and do some last kindnesses for some of the recent dead buried around these mountains. The Tangtzenists had been aiming to make sacrifices to their god, dark and twisted blood rituals and the general sentiment from all the good guys perspective was that they had claimed too many.
Far away Ceroz Molten and Kidush Pogar were only looking ahead towards their own goals and fortunes though, they were alive and weren’t giving up even if they couldn’t complete the great rituals they set had planned when this whole conflict between the humans and the wizard Ngoogol began. Ceroz had to sometimes remind the more daydreamy and distractible, but flawlessly obedient Kidush that there could be no doubt Tangtz would bring the destruction and death he promised in the end…
Lo Hwang Halfblood had seen enough death and destruction to last far too many lifetimes. This last battle was a triumph, but he was tired of it all, if only…then something struck his eye.
“Otto, that sword you were using, I never got a good look at it. Can I have it now?”
There were no real objections, Otto in fact would rather recover his friend Bret Pelennon’s sword if he was to return with any treasure, and there was more than enough other treasure to go around after sorting through this hidden lair of Ngoogol’s.
“This sword is not a mere sword. It’s only a disguised form of a more ancient, terrible artifact, linked to a powerful demon and the plane of chaos. Did anyone else realize this?”
There were some protestations from the others, really more offers of help, but Halfblood insisted he had to finish his own quest alone and would take and dispose of the artifact as he must. Nonetheless, he would remain grateful for all of new friends and allies. Perhaps he could finally put the past behind him and gain some peace….
Honorius Cummerbund and Irobal Sebermersé were likewise now longtime allies and solid friends and had some quite interesting discussions on everything they’d discovered and accomplished in defeating Ngoogol’s magics. They were a bit disappointed they hadn’t eradicated all the evils they might have but there was no denying they’d succeeded when so many other mages and wizards had failed.
For his part, Irobal would be pleased to receive many honors and the personal favor of the Kingdom of Wallena. He would no longer have to live as an outcast or feel dishonored about his past, and would certainly take time to reestablish ties to his homeland and the city he had loved. But just maybe, he would stay with the light, temper his desire for revenge and retribution, he already would have power after all, and with remain ever loyal to new friends.
Honorius was undoubtedly to be recognized as the powerful mage he was, and saw his work cut out for him rebuilding the society of mages and priests that had been nearly wiped out in the recent war. There was more on his mind as well though:
“This ‘Battler’ fellow – now that I’ve seen his possessions, cryptic notes and journals and all, and there was something off about his breed of magic. It seems he was a disciple of some mysterious treachery called ‘Endless Sorcery’ and was seeking out another secretive master in a distant land. I can’t help but feel with my own magic that this is a guy I have unfinished business with, a score to settle for great pain and crimes, someone I’ll really have to seek out.” He indeed saw this as another mission, but perhaps he would set out again with his friend or more eager young adventurers when the time came….
Lady Anna of Kasyn was greeted with a hero’s welcome when the remainder of the group met the first band of soldiers on the return down from the mountains. Their commanders and indeed much of the kingdom was distraught over her disappearance after so many others were confirmed dead in the great battle, but that made her return all the more exciting with the other victorious warriors honored as well with weeks of celebration.
The Princess would continue to be the talk of the town even when as she made the trip back to her home and reunited with her own family. With the other noble houses in disarrary and a time of uncertainty for the kingdom and its neighbors ahead, Kasyn stood to gain much. Would she marry Prince (soon to be coronated King) Vanady, cement her House’s place among the greatest in history in a new era? Who could say? She was a capable, independent woman who would make her own choices after all, ignoring the idle rumors about nobility and royalty, forge her own path as she hoped to lead her people into a further age of peace and prosperity. However, whatever else fate had in store, there was one thing that she had to have made bar no expense, to serve as a reminder of true friendship, and the sacrifices made against forces of evil and chaos. She would never forget this quest and would keep with her always a locket in the shape of a clover.
Here's where we recognize all the successes or for some disappointments of the game. Congratulations again to the Innocents and many for a very solidly played game. You are the Farcrest Adventurers, a group of good guys whose missions has been clear ever since they came to the Kingdom of Wallena. But its not just for fame and glory you would seek to defeat the evil wizard you truly care about the safety of good, honest peoples and triumph over evil. The name Farcrest is after where you first met, a seaside town in the land of Lanunia home to a novel mix of dwarves and humans but welcoming to all travelers.
Faction Goal 1: Defeat the evil gnomish wizard Atto Ngoogol.
Faction Goal 2: Years of adventuring have given you all a taste for when theres wickedness in the air. You have no doubts there are some in this party who seek to undermine its ultimate mission. Eliminate all of Ngoogols spies or minions.
Kennigit is Ngelson, a Good-aligned Gnomish alchemist. A young man who once could not stomach violence and war, he was thrust into this conflict through a war between gnomes and kobolds of the north, and despises Ngoogol for his evil deeds and treachery, betraying the principles of the gnomish people. Ngelson has the equipment and ability to brew many useful potions.
rhawn is Lo Hwang Halfblood, a Good-aligned, Half-elven monk. His great discipline and purity of spirit make him exceptionally strong, and almost invulnerable to injury and immune to poisons.
landlubber is Borin, a Neutral-aligned dwarven seafarer. While he may have had a rough and sometimes shady background, he still aims to embody dwarven steadfastness and heroism worthy of a true leader of his people. Borin has the ability to rally others around him if he is nominated by the party. In addition, his good nature and shrewd bargaining sense might be able to convince others to share their items (double item vote).
Send me any questions guys, and best of luck to you!

Comments - a pretty standard team of good guys really. Some great character stories here and they were intended to be perceived as solid leaders to the Innocents if they lived up to the roles. Kennigit and landlubber both were painful losses early on but rhawn picked up a lot of the pieces and was an ideal role to be a leader for the Innocents, which he was very successfully.
Hugarak Mercenaries

Mercenaries of Hugarak
What most foreigners know of travelers from Hugarak is that they are usually men-at-arms hailing from a western region where human and elven kingdoms are relatively peaceful neighbors, thus seeking greater adventure. However, this recent conflict with the dark sorcerer Ngoogol threw many old practices into chaos, and you all found yourselves unlikely members of a mercenary group in the recent battle, and managed to survive through your skills and comradery. Defeating the evil wizard and seeing the kingdom of Wallena stabilize would make you heroes as well as quite wealthy men.
Faction Goal 1: Defeat the evil gnomish wizard Atto Ngoogol.
Faction Goal 2: Have at least 2 members of your faction survive, so watch out for each other.
Duke Blackstone is Otto von Ventiari, a Neutral-aligned Human. Once a travelling performer who now finds work as a mercenary. He brings much strength to the table and may roleblock any others he can intimidate with said strength at night.
DrumStudent is Verarde Goldrun, a Good-aligned Half-Elven adventurer. He has great affinity for animals and in particular a touching relationship with a young dragon, whom he tries to keep out of harms way but can call upon to help and communicate with when needed.
classical_hero is Bret Pelennon, a Good-aligned Elven swordsman. He joined the mercenary group to continue fighting against Ngoogols invastion after his company of soldiers was nearly wiped out some months back. He treasures a magical sword acquired in the recent battle that he hopes to master over time and use to vanquish evil.
dcmort93 is Harold Amal , a Neutral-aligned Human warrior specializing in magical resistance, as more and more by the year a band of warriors needs to be protected against wicked sorcery while they fight with strength and cunning. Hes also good at sizing up the strengths of other men, knowing where to pick his battles.
Special: The most important thing to the success of a group of soldiers is their unity of purpose and loyalty to their brothers in arms. While now you are lacking formal military structures and a chain of command, you still are disciplined and brave. If one of you is nominated, someone else on the faction WILL support them against any conflicts they face, even if they didnt make a support vote. So the person with the next highest current strength on your team will support the nominated person if they are alive and able to, not taken up for some other reason.
Send me any questions guys, and best of luck to you!
Earthling
A pretty standard good guy team too. All the characters here were people who had focused on strength/physical-ish abilities rather than magic. They got a team of 4, which is pretty solid, and the remnants of game mechanics that would have gone to separate factions perhaps if there were more players, like the faction ability that made them support each other somewhat. Bret had a vigilante kill which could have been rather useful, but the surviving members of the team did quite well too.
Sun Mages

Mages of the Yellow Rays
Guilds of wizardry in the Kingdom of Wallena try to avoid dealing with dark arts, and in recent decades the most esteemed sorcerers took to praising the power of the all-cheering sun. The brighter magicians of your generation and knew it was your duty to deal with the outside threat of this gnomish sorcerer and uphold the balance of magic everywhere. But wizards arent used to being parts of armies or disciplined soldiers, they are used to acting alone, and recent conflicts only depleted the number loyal to the King. So alliances had been made with good-hearted fellows near and far and youre an unorthodox group of mages banded together for this crucial struggle, though ultimately representatives of the yellow rays and good wizards everywhere.
FactionGoal 1: Defeat the evil gnomish wizard Atto Ngoogol.
Faction Goal 2: Seek out and destroy all evil artifacts.
Special: Faction Ability each night, instead of using another ability or item effect, you may choose to meditate and Study Magic. After every two nights doing so your bonuses with magic effects will level up.
Takhisis is Cindy, disguised in human form but actually a Neutral-aligned Elemental. He has one goal on this world setting nature back in the right order again and ending the abominations and abuses of magic Ngoogol has created. It was more than happy to ally itself with you wizards for such noble goals and after the recent battle and many deaths you are the only ones who know his secret. Takhisis naturally has great magic powers he can focus and so the ability to destroy items.
robbiecon is Honorius Cummerbund, a Good-aligned human mage from quite distant lands He brings to the table a mix of magical effects and some items.
taillesskangaru is Irobal Sebermersé, a Neutral-aligned human wizard with a violent past, but utter loyalty to his friends. He has the ability to protect others from magical attacks and harmful effects.
Send me any questions guys, and best of luck to you!

I still regret not coming up with a cooler name for this team and their faction background a bit. Mostly a character creation thing again, I had allotted for possibilities of more neutral/evil magical characters or perhaps a more good aligned priestly like team, but they fell inbetween. However, all the characters and their stories were really great and this team put a lot of effort into the game, and were ultimately pretty successful. They were intended to be able to grow quite powerful, as they did in fact, but the goal of getting rid of the evil artifacts was correspondingly hard - they would have to mostly defeat the other evil factions besides the Ngoogol team to really get that done. Takhisis being an Elemental himself was a possible source of concern but never really came up the way the game worked out, and our other mages had a very good game.
Foreigners

Foreigners
Some of you might say youre anything but common folk, but no one would really know who you are. What really defines your group, is you were forced onto this quest without much real organization or much preparation before hand; caught up in the tide of history as it were. However, youll stick together and be true to each other as youre all good people, and aim to accomplish your other goals as you go about it.
Faction Goal 1: Defeat the evil gnomish wizard Atto Ngoogol.
Faction Goal 2: In the aftermath of the battle, other human armies did seem to make sure they sent their best men on this quest to defeat the sorcerer, but if they dont return the failure could tear alliances apart leading to other conflicts, which would be bad for folks like you. Help at least one member of the Noble Houses of Kasyn or Isthria survive.
Faction Motto (its a quicktopic link): a Deo et rege
Camikaze is Otto Goggle, a retired Human who was thrust into this conflict when too many armies marched by his village. He really doesnt like magic and wont practice it himself, but has a keen skill with various weaponry and a good survival sense.
Sprig is Sita Kalyanam, supposedly the reincarnation of an ancient goddess as a prophetic elf. Sprigs visionary abilities and powerful magic could really come in handy for all you to survive.
choxorn is Arminius Ghkghkghkigikikikngyhgslkxikxikxikki, a Good-aligned Gnomish adventurer. He was sent to join the fight against Ngoogol but from a very distant kingdom, and made new friends with you all on the way. He has excellent book knowledge in a lot of things and an easy inclination to learn more but perhaps anatomy is the most useful thing he knows for this quest, with the ability to determine the race of another character, which could prove vital
Send me any questions guys, and best of luck to you!
Earthling
A very, very ragtag bunch if there ever was one, but that was intended. Losing choxorn/Arminius could have cost the Innocents an awful lot as he was a healer...as they said they all kinda got into trouble and died early. Sprig had an awesome role that was also put together in a sort of last minute way before the game started, fortunately I already had that ability planned as a possible ability (an action/seer scan that went by player names instead of characters) and it fit with his character. Far more hilarious of course though, was the personal goal...more on that with individual role PMs.
House Kasyn
Spoiler:
Earthling said:
House of Kasyn
The noble House of Kasyn is a storied and ancient family from the southeast corner of Nortion, long local lords before Wallenas reach was establish over the region. For several generations paid their dues to the king and lived in relative obscurity. The recent squabbles and feuds among other noble houses even as the King looked outward in his alliance with the elves, has thrust Kasyn to the forefront of public opinion and made princess Anna into quite the celebrity. Thus it was no surprise that a sizeable force of guards as well as courtesans accompanied the late King to the decisive battle against Ngoogol.
What was a surprise, was Annas insistence on participation. The King falling in combat was a dire blow and the sight of the prince suffering through his terrible wounds after the battle was too much for her to let pass. She now seeks revenge personally on the dark wizard Ngoogol. Putting aside the worries that the generals or her family would have expressed over, you know, sending women on such a dangerous task, she has snuck off onto this expedition with some loyal and new found friends.
There is, however, one additional problem. The rival Noble House of Isthria coldly sought to gain more power in the kingdom throughout this conflict with Ngoogol, and made their voices heard even through the final battle. The Lord of Isthria, who has never tolerated Annas closeness to the Prince and what it could mean for the next generation of loyalty, probably has loyal servants on this quest who would shed no tears if Kasyns blood was spilled.
Faction Motto (its a quicktopic linkCoeur Loyal Faction Goal 1: Defeat the evil gnomish wizard Atto Ngoogol.
Faction Goal 2: Prevent the impostors from House Isthria from accomplishing their dastardly goals.
DaveShack is Lady Anna, upwardly-aspiring princess and popular face of House Kasyn. Anna will wield extra influence in votes and is quite well-prepared and protected with magic items.
Chairman Meow is Brother Emmanuel, a Good-aligned Human monk who seems to have an uncanny ability for preventing evil and keeping the peace.
Finally, Love is Flynn ONeill , a Neutral-aligned Irishman, who will act as a bodyguard and protector for any good man who needs it. Thrust into this world by a most bizarrely failed summoning spell, defeating Ngoogol is his only hope of returning to his own homeland at the end of this quest. Unless, of course, he hopes to stay around and gain the princesss fancy.
Send me any questions guys, and best of luck to you!
Earthling
I really loved this team and how it worked out, what else can I say. Chairman Meow got kinda a blander role, not the most interesting or powerful abilities (basically a delayed roleblock) but sometimes people have to get roles like that for things to work out. Love had an awesome character, if you'll notice in the initial introduction story about the battle there was the part about him being "accidentally summoned" from a different dimension. DaveShack of course had a solid character as well and played well to survive through the whole game. Again during character creation I was perhaps expecting more evil characters, or maybe someone to pick up the idea that they wanted to be nobility/whatever, so the Noble House factions certainly had contigencies for setting up feuds/rival abilities. As it stands though, Kasyn were mostly good guys and didn't even have to wipe out Isthria as my fine print had it, just prevent them from wiping out the elves.

Ishtrias Seal of Secrecy
The alliance of King Gallium with the elven kingdoms would be the undoing of all the minor human powers in the region, or at least that was the line spoken in private to receptive ears. It was not, you were reminded, open treason as long as everything remained a secret. But the threat of Ngoogol was too great - indeed, if the elven armies hadnt been part of the grand alliance the kingdom may well have been overrun. However, now that Ngoogol is on the run, the next step must be taken care of - all of those elven envoys and diplomats, soldiers and wizards, would die on this mission, and they would give up on their greedy designs on the human kingdoms and retreat to their forests. And for bringing this about, you would be rewarded most lavishly, treated like heroes after the end of this mission, while no elves would share in the glory.
After burning the letter with the Noble lords seal, one thing was for sure no one is ever actually going to know your true goals, if you do not tell them. Thats the advantage of looking like a ragtag bunch, blending into this quest against the evil wizard.
Faction Goal 1: Eliminate all players of Elven ancestry or heritage.
Faction Goal 2: Defeat the evil gnomish wizard Atto Ngoogol. Its not that any of you all particularly care, personally, its just that the very real possibility he would kill you first is too much to ignore.
First on your team, civplayah is Gregor Lom, the Evil-aligned, Human mercenary who put together your group. Hes got a powerful magic sword and will take the lead on attacking your enemies at night.
He managed to find and recruit Catharsis, known as Millicrescent Asperysm, a rather odd Neutral-aligned Human girl with furry tendencies. She is extremely dangerous and had motivations of her own but given the chance to have allies and snack on tasty elf-flesh was happy to join up.
Finally, mgsmuhammad is James Kobe, a Neutral-aligned Human who was primarily interested in fighting Ngoogol but was persuaded that getting rid of the elves would cause less trouble for everyone. The promises of riches and glory were probably enough, as well as a chance to protect the rather odd string of creatures he has in tow that may cause havoc for everyone.
Send me any questions guys, and best of luck to you!

I think I messed up at some points spelling this Isthria/Ishtria, but oh well, it was meant to be Isthria. Anyway, a pretty straightforward set of goals really, their main concern was wiping out the elves with standard townie victory only secondary. There were just enough players being elven characters that it did all work out, but there wasn't a faction of just elves or something like that (of course during character creation if I'd gotten a ton of dwarves or whatever i would have, you know, adjusted the backstories and maybe this team would have been out for political assassination of the dwarven faction or something.) They made a good run at things, never escaped suspicion that they were bad guys enough though. mgsmuhammad had a very interesting character and I hope he liked his ability. Civplayah's evil sword was a potential artifact and more importantly a vig-kill item for evil players, but the Innocents snatched it up after wiping out the Isthrian faction. Catharsis was such a pleasure to have in the game even though Millicrescent never got to fufill her potential...
Tangtzenists

Disciples of Tangtzenism
Tangtzenism preached that there was one god, Tangtz, who created life purely so he could witness the destruction of it - and orcs were created to aid in this desire. Therefore, practitioners of Tangtzenism made sure to kill as many non-orcs as possible. Whenever possible, defeated enemies would be sacrificed on an altar.
Faction Goal 1: Kill 8 players by any means during the game such that you can use them as sacrifices. You will immediately abandon the group, surviving and off to complete your ritual and gain more powers in service of your god(s)
Faction Goal 2: No other teams achieve greater than 50% victory. That probably means not getting dragged into too much trouble with this Ngoogol fellow, theres no harm if hes killing others but you dont want to start a whole rivalry thing with another powerful dark wizard.
Special: Faction Ability: The stone idol is crucial to your success so dont let anything happen to it; any of you in possession of it may also use it to nightkill, in case one of you falls under too much suspicion and they try to block your efforts somehow.
The leader of your group is Zack, Ceroz Molten, Evil-aligned high priest of Tangtzenism. He leads the ritual and is fully committed to his dark purposes, wielding much power of his own already.
CivGeneral is Kidush Pogar, another orcish follower attracted by the power of Tangtz. He is likewise strong and brave in the orcish way, but sneaky enough to make his presence felt in a battle without being seen. He may appear to vote one way in public on any vote but actually vote however he so chooses.
Finally, Jaremma is the third member of your team, Yarai, an Evil-aligned, rogueish Half-elf. He's fought in enough battles and proved his comradery with the orcish band you were all part of before the battle, and anyone who would pay some heed to Tangtz teaching's was all right in their books. He has the ability to roleblock others at night and at the same time investigate them for items.

There was obviously a whole lot going behind the scenes with these guys. They were really the official second mafia faction, with a goal that was ultimately independent from whether the Innocents or Ngoogol one. Zack came up with an excellent background and story that I was more than happy to declare him leader of a bad guy cult from the get-go, Jarrema had a unique character of his own and CivGeneral got grouped with them for a nice shadowy faction.
However, they had a very long and bumpy road in the game. As I've said elsewhere, they had a lot of bad luck and things didn't go so well, a tough game really even with Zack and Jarrema both quite active and working hard at things. Their faction was one of the most affected by the size of the game balance, as if there had been more players and another Innocent faction or two they would have had a full, regular nightkill and maybe some different goals.
I still think the balance was all right in the end though, maybe their cutoff should have been 7 instead of 8 kills, the second goal was tough but basically just meant a total victory for a standard mafia team (wipe everyone else out) would accomplish their second victory. As mentioned, I think they did well and were pretty close to victory despite all the setbacks, as just a few things could have gone differently - they could have gotten voted a vigilante item, the early deaths/inactivity of some Ngoogol members and Isthrians meant fewer other attacks/injuries on people, and most especially, taillesskangaru was our only magical protector and he really earned his successes for the Innocents, if he'd died the orcs would have surely had an easier time killing. But anyway, it can be tough being a mafia team and they didn't take the day on this one, still glad to have all the players onboard for the game though.
Allies of Atto Ngoogol

Allies of Atto Ngoogol
The image was, well, in each of your minds. A short gnome, looking very dirty and bedraggled. He would have been comical if he was not so terrible at the same time.
Ngoogol was certainly complaining about what he had left to work with. You call yourselves mingions, really, a disgrace. This has been a great disappointment, you should be honored to serve me and not be slaughtered with the rest. But very well, I could use your help, and you will be rewarded beyond your wildest dreams.
It was true the group here, hurried off in hush silence at the aftermath of the battle, was not full of mindless followers. Not even a single loyal gnome could be found, instead, you all were a bunch of individuals with agendas of your own that just happened to coincide. Mercenaries still hoping for the promises of riches and power (Ngoogol had given a wizards oath though, and the orcs were confident that had he won the battle the promise would be fulfilled, and it yet might be ) A renegade wizard seeking magical secrets for his own. A ghost seeking only vengeance. Not real minions and yet neither you nor Ngoogol had much of a choice, this was the best way to accomplish everything, and who knows, you all might yet survive.
The crystal serving as a focus for magical communication crumbled into dust as Ngoogol imparted his last words to you, he could not secretly communicate with any of you anymore but this encouragement was a start
Faction Goal 1: The powerful master of wizardry, Atto Ngoogol, survives unharmed. Note that if all others players are eliminated before the game ends another way and any of you survive this occurs automatically.
Faction Goal 2: Survive till the end of the game. This counts for each player individually.
Your team is the following:
Darth Caesar is Elvsh Darkfoot, an all around vagabond and sort of mercenary. Hes bold, cunning, and intimidating and not at all hesitant to help spill other humans blood, so his task is pretty straightforward.
bestrfcplayer is Grof Mouthbreather, an Evil-aligned, proud orcish warrior with a special expertise in poisons, and some handy spoils of war.
Seon is The Battler, a Neutral-aligned wizard and practicer of the lost arts of Endless Magic. For a start, through magical means he can determine a foes exact strength and help decide exactly where and when to strike and sow confusion.
Finally, TheLastOne36 is Ashani, a Neutral-aligned Ghost disguised in human form. His quarrel is only with the human King and his Nobles, and their cruel and mindless armies. His spirit will be extremely difficult to quell as he works towards vengeance, but if he accomplishes his goals he may head off to the spirit world before adding much more to Ngoogols prospects of victory.
Special: Faction Ability Voting Misdirection. You all do know some secrets of Ngoogols style of wizardry and hes been willing to trust you, but theres only so far things can go before one of you might get killed in a battle. However, once during the game, if one of you is nominated, you may recall a few key words of a hidden counterspell and avoid attack entirely. Instead, Ngoogols monsters will redouble their efforts to pass right by you and wreak terrible havoc on anyone around, automatically injuring anyone who nominated or supported you. A majority of your team must agree during the DAY phase to use this ability, and it would probably be best to plan carefully for how you can manage others votes.
You have a great advantage in that the great Ngoogol will be relentless in his attacks during the day, and if you can cause the others to fail to fight together and be picked off, you can sit back and watch them be overrun.

Our final and rather unique mafia team, I might say. They had a bit of inactivity and didn't quite mislead the town enough in the end but they were close the whole time. It was mostly a game of the Innocents playing catch-up with excellent play after early painful setups - if the Innocents had faltered just a bit more at the start it would have been a field day for the Ngoogol team and the other baddies to try to come out on top.
Anyway, they were designed with some overall concepts in mind - the team was NOT supposed to have a nightkill, they would have to outmaneuver everyone else with the lynches and their numbers and abilities. They all had rather powerful, directly useful abilities and of course the general advantage that the NPCs were on their side. They maybe could have used another shot at their faction ability. But again, it kinda had to be that way with our final game balance, the Elementals were already strong, the Ngoogol team did have numbers and TLO being a ghost with a survival ability already could have been very, very powerful. Naturally if there had been more players/factions in the game this team would scale up accordingly but I think I got things about right.
The one thing I regret and the team rightly pointed out, was that they didn't really get much out of the puzzles. I just hadn't thought enough about that beforehand, didn't have a game mechanic where they would get any bonuses to help the Elementals/etc... out of solving the puzzles themselves. They could still level up to get things like detecting hidden item traits, magic resistance, and ultimately I was toying with the idea of letting evil players who levelled up to MW VII or higher "rediscover" teleportation magic as hinted in the backstories giving them a chance to escape an attack or lynch.
That's it for the factions then, 8 total, there could have been more- might have split mercenary groups, mages/priests, adventurers, or a faction of foreigners who were all like elves/dwarves, but this is what we had. Glad everyone made great characters and see individual PMs in the next posts.
