NOTW XXXIX: Impending Retribution Game Thread

Will whoever was on the bridge last night please say why you went there? If you don't, it's gonna be assumed you were up to no good.

End Morning Phase Six, Start Midday Phase Six

Journal Entry Number Seventeen. 13:00 shipboard time. Seven Days to Port.

Darth Caesar’s stay in the Brig the prior night brought out the masses to condemn the alleged murderer. His silence did nothing to help his cause, but with close to half of the ship against him, turning this around would not be an easy task. Even still, the masses had also decided executing him was the best option instead of another night locked up. It wouldn’t be long before another sailor was left swaying in the sea breeze.

The item votes were mostly an afterthought given the ship’s focus on executing Darth Caesar. Some of the crew had gotten tired of always voting a Crate to Methos and were beginning to spread the votes out a bit to Earthling and Renata. The other two items were not receiving much attention, but robbiecon held a slim lead for both at this time.

The main topic of discussion for the day was a back and forth between Katie “Earthling” Xanatos and CCRunner which stemmed from CCRunner publicly asking for the nuclear reactor control override codes and choxorn being found injured in the Engine Room a night ago. In any event, that compartment and the Nuclear Reactor that powers the ship was a big focal point for the day. One thing that could be agreed on: the safety of this vital piece of gear continued to be paramount.

The first half of the day had definitely been interesting to say the least. I’ll come back and write more at the conclusion of today’s events. One thing’s for certain though: I’d love to see some new crew members step up and jump into the fray. Some sailors have been pretty subdued for most of our cruise and it would be nice to get some more discussion from our more silent members.

Wow, I'm the only one still voting for choxorn. I still think that him triggering a trap while wandering about the engines is suspicious and points to sabotage…

But why is there so many people not voting, or voting only for lynch? I'm the only person to have cast a vote for all items in dispute and the lynch. Shame on you, lurkers!

No, I voted both items to robbiecon and don't see where Secura even posted, think something got mixed.

Also:

Will whoever was on the bridge last night please say why you went there? If you don't, it's gonna be assumed you were up to no good.

It would be great if someone was able to scan exactly who entered a compartment rather than just the number of people, when no scum is ever going to come forward and admit to doing something wrong on their own. But we'd rather blow up the nuclear reactor wouldn't we?

((GM Note: Yea, I mixed it up. I'll replace the graphic shortly))

((EDIT: Fixed. Probably))

Some general notes I would have edited in the above, incomplete sentences. I meant to say about revealing information, that not only have sprig and others been hypocrites (if Innocent, CCRunner and people like sprig have said more than enough to get CCRunner killed) and I meant to say, that in private, sprig told me that nobody has been handing around items without telling the public where they went. This is contradicted by his own explosive which has disappeared, and items like the Master Key and so on, as well as the Crates I mentioned there.

What are you talking about? I never said anything like that. I said in private "do you think that renata would be so silly as to give a way items and not tell someone where they went?"

Let me assure you that they are not missing, but then again I think your just happier to belive that they are...

Well it's still two of us out of thirty people. Too low!

Yes, I'm talking about the same part of the same communique you must be thinking of. I don't know what your definition of items being passed around and going missing is, but the crew publicly does not know what's up and neither do the Innocent folks who should know.

So, sprig, where's your quick show of hands who knows where the Master Key, the Inventory sheet, sprig's bomb, and whatever else might be in the crates are, not to mention any unknown items?

Well it's still two of us out of thirty people. Too low!

The reason on this is that almost nobody has been willing to discuss or bring forward any relevant information the past few days. If all we're going to do as we've been doing is wait for Renata or Methos to tell us who to execute with one big bandwagon vote, and that's yet to actually succeed by the way, we're never going to see more votes and the scum can hide perfectly and never do anything suspicious that way.

I remain not at all confident that we've made any serious progress against the rogues, and I'm more than willing to die in the line of duty to keep them from getting important items or taking over the ship. And even without the rogue threat, even possibly loyal and Innocent people are foolishly considering extremely dangerous-sounding ideas of messing with our navigation systems, reactor, etc... when all evidence indicates we should continue as is to head back to port.

Which helps the Saboteurs and Rogues to hide, given that, as everyone's lurking, they can too.

I would like the photograph. The crate can go to renata and navigation card to Earthling. And since Darth Caesar's fate seems to be sealed I'd like to see if receiving a vote will wake up landlubber.

I find our captain's lack of activity puzzling.

Well, yes, there's definitely some rotten fish that smells on this ship. I have a feeling Earthling's speech has rattled some cages and that his days (hours) are numbered. Kind of like what happened to ATPG...
Let me stress again that he has made some very valid points that have hardly been challenged, if at all.

About the items : I'd like to think that the picture is totally unimportant, so I won't vote on that. On the other hand, the Navigation card is definitely a vital component of the ship, so it would be best, to say the least, that it didn't fall in the wrong hands. I can't be sure (of course) but Robbiecon looks like a safe bet.
The thing I don't get about the card, is that despite the fact that it's up to vote, the Navigation override system is online and functional. Does anyone have an explanation or an hypothesis about that ? Or am I looking for unimportant details ?

And on a final note, I urge the guy in charge of promotions to contact me ASAP. I'm not looking for one, but I know a deserving young sailor that would be best suited for a certain rank and the perks that go with it. Which in turn, will help the whole crew if he's not offed too quickly.

Will the person who demoted me/promoted TheLastOne36 evening 2 please contact me. Thanks.

Takhisis can have the photograph
Robbiecon can have the Navigation Card
Methos the crate again

Earthling, I have a hard time following what you're saying I think because you writing from the perspective that everyone one has the same knowledge as you, but that really isn't the case. However I can say that the Decryption Key is mine and that it was I who gave it to CCRunner. The decryption key was never yours, it wasn't stolen, and I am certain that was never in your posession, even before this mess began. Well it seems pretty certain that Darth Caesar is a killer, but I am going to keep an eye on you Earthling. Robbiecon can have the photograph and navigation override.

Hmm, the plot thickens...

Frozen, the Decryption Key IS mine, as all the keys anywhere on the ship were under my supervision of the job I have long been assigned by Command. It definitely went missing the night Whitower was killed and been used to hack the security system. But I'll extend the same question to you then: Why did you have the Key in the first place if you did to start, and what do you do with it? As for giving it to CCRunner, that's an even bigger puzzle - Did you perhaps trade for a stolen gun from CCRunner, and that's how however you mysteriously were given a gun from someone you didn't want to reveal earlier?

This, however, is clearly is why Renata should have been answering with what she knows but I've said that before. I'm not sure if Renata or anyone is aware of any of what you said Frozen or approved of it, but that just opens further questions. Were you, Renata, and CCRunner discussing these nuclear codes before but refused to share that with others? (as Renata told me not to even tell Captain Methos anything, again)

She originally told me (unspecified person) (turns out to be CCRunner) was looking for the Decryption key and other items. CCRunner today claimed to me that he had the Key the whole time, but now that's not the truth. Still don't know which version of the story Renata was actually aware of, or some third story. Nevertheless, I still know the item should go to me and was stolen and could help cause great damage in the wrong hands, whoever had it or whatever's been done with it.

It remains entirely clear this doesn't add up at all, CCRunner's already collected one item and still needs nuclear codes and access to the engine room all the name of doing something for the Innocents, sure. Sounds like practically the definition of the rogue's plan to me.

Captain Methos (and possibly Renata, as an extension) got Diamondeye killed entirely unnecessarily, and for a time I was willing to forgive that and see it as a mistake.

OOC: I stopped reading after this. Really, Earthling? I'm sick of this happening every game. Take responsibility like everyone else.

I'm as surprised as anyone about Diamondeye, however it would have been great if it hadn't taken him three days, till the last minute before the execution, to reveal something like that Inventory Sheet.

Diamondeye should be executed tonight, not put in the brig

Well, Petty Officer sprig, I actually think Diamondeye is more likely a Rogue than a saboteur, I admit I've had my suspicions for a while, but that's all I need to hear to want to bring his actions and motivations to light right now as well. I cannot fathom why he would bring about an attack on you and put lives and important work at risk if Innocent, and it's certainly not the first time he's tried it.
