NOTW XXXIX: Impending Retribution Game Thread

Oh, one other thing. Methos should have gone for this on his own initiative but if there's any hope of him staying around or not being in trouble he has to at least help with the following. I still think you just don't intend to cooperate with the Innocents, when you looted several things from the crates and still want to gather up items for yourself.

But - who did sprig give his bomb to?

That person should be about guaranteed to be a scum. Renata never told us and none of the Rogues had a bomb when they died, so whoever did is probably guilty of blowing up Nictel (or maybe Kennigit, that would be ironic and funny for the rogues). It's possible sprig never gave the bomb away and kept and used it himself but then that would be another lie on some folks part and we'd like to get that clarified.

If I'm right then the tally is this:
CCRunner: 4 (Earthling, Izipo, choxorn, robbiecon)
robbiecon: 4 (Autolyucs, CCRunner, Frozen In Ice, rhawn)
Takhisis: 2 (Methos, Ekolite)
BSmith: 1 (Seon)

Who's got the extra secret votes? I can't remember which's which.
I PM'ed you yesterday stating I had a repair item and wanted to know who would best be able to use it. Either you ignored my PM, or forgot about it. With any luck, you'll notice this post. Contact me via PM and who gets it.
He's had some trouble with his inbox apparently. He had to send me the same PM twice.

EDIT: Damn! BL ninja'd me before I could edit this post again.

End Midday Phase Nine, Start Night Phase Nine

Journal Entry Number Twenty-Seven. 20:00 shipboard time.

As the day came to an end, the decision-making remained stalled on whether to execute someone or imprison him for the night. Ultimately, this lack of decisiveness spared robbiecon a grisly end and he was marched to the Brig for the night.

During the hoopla surrounding the vote, another mine had detonated, this time finishing off the Pump Room. With the ship’s pumps offline, water would begin to seep into the lower compartments overtime and threatening the many vital systems housed below decks. Certainly it was something that needed to be looked at as soon as possible.

The trends from midday’s item vote count continued until the day’s end. rhawn picked up the Container, Silenced Pistol, and Key to the Electrical Room. Methos narrowly edged Autolycus for the Flak Jacket, but the Nuclear Launch Key "B" were a nice consolation prize for the Chief Warrant Officer, Three.

With the Rogue threat eliminated, the crew went to sleep feeling pretty good about the prospect of waking up, now that death by lead poisoning was probably a thing of the past. Attention turned now to fixing the ship and turning it around as the mines were slowly taking a toll on the ship’s integrity and were taxing the repair crews to their limits. Time will tell which side would win.

End Night Phase Nine, Start Morning Phase Ten

Journal Entry Number Twenty-Eight. 06:00 shipboard time. Two Days to Insurgent Waters.

Well, I guess it was wishful thinking after all.

With the Rogues gone and the ship careening out of control toward Insurgent-held waters, it was easy to assume the kills would stop and the crew could focus on saving the ship from a watery grave. It was not to be. Either they were new threats, or a continuation of an old one, I can’t say, but anyway there were some new threats afoot.

The Sleeping Quarters was the location of the most recent bloodbath, and two new corpses were added to the tally. First, Ekolite was found literally hacked to pieces. Slash marks covered the bloody body and flesh was sliced clean in a number of spots. The coup de grâce consisted of a gaping hole across the man’s throat. The amount of blood everywhere suggested he died fairly quickly, though it was undoubtedly very painful. Aside from an Assault Rifle and Key to the Armory, there was nothing to suggest a treasonous past.

Spoiler :
Ekolite was innocent.

Moving on, the crew found another body in a pool of his own blood. The body had been badly mauled by a combination of some sharp and blunt object during the night and it was close to being unrecognizable. A search of his nearby belongings showed a large number of things, including the Thunderfall Missile Launch Codes, a Key to the CIC, a Swiss Army Knife, and then more familiar objects such as the Portable Compressed Air Rig and Nuclear Launch Key “B”. Also found nearby was one of the numerous fire axes that could be found in almost every hallway, except it was covered in blood and must have been used as the murder weapon. Aside from that one anomaly, simple deduction concluded the body belonged to the late Chief Warrant Officer, Three Autolycus.

Spoiler :
Autolycus was innocent.

Attention turned now to the ship’s damage, which ultimately had gotten worse during the night. The Saboteur’s had struck again, this time tearing up the Navigation Bridge and finishing off the Deck. As a result of the Deck’s catastrophic damage, compartments below once again received damage. The Brig, Sick Bay, and Magazine were are affected by the carnage.

Speaking of the Magazine, it would seem some work had been done to it, but despite the repair the compartment didn’t look too much better than the day before. This additional damage was attributed to the damaged Deck above and the damaged Pump Room just aft. In fact, with the ship’s pumps offline for the night, the entire lower section of the ship all received flooding damage as a result. Fortunately, a large undertaking fixed the pumps and for the time being was operational. With the pumps online and in pretty good shape, the crew could breathe easy that the ship would not continue to flood during the rest of the day. Repairs elsewhere consisted of a small effort in the Bridge, and it was just enough to get the ship’s vital navigation gear back online.

Lastly, another mine had detonated, which devastated the Machine Room once again. From what the untrained observer could tell, there was no obvious negative effects stemming from the blast, but it wasn’t to say there weren’t any at all. Still, any room at 80% damage was probably a bad thing, and crews would likely need to look at it during the coming night.

There was one last bit of good news: rhawn had been recognized for his actions thus far and received a promotion to Commander. The crew was happy to see someone take over in such a vital position after such a long absence. Robbiecon was also relieved to be let out of the Brig, especially considering he can gotten a little wet from the night’s destruction. With the new methods of killing now present, the crew was down but not out against the new threats. They fortunately still had time to get things together and track down those responsible.

Just not a lot of time.

Seems like we are missing repairs by one or possibly a couple of people. Unless Autolycus getting killed meant his work didn't get done, most unfortunate, that came completely out of nowhere. Have to assume it's a saboteur too probably, if anyone else killed him it was absolutely suicidal and should be fessed up now.

So waiting to hear back on that or any other leads. I'll take an Assault Rifle, most everyone else trustworthy seems to have an extra vote there already and they don't stack. The knife and air rig are repair items and we'll figure out who they should go to, don't much mind who collects the other keys or missile stuff as we're not going to be using them anyway.

Well yesterday turned out to be a complete waste. We need to make sure we don't repeat that again.

So starting off with what happened during the night, it appears there was a saboteur kill most likely. Ekolite was probably a vigilante, but Autolycus was trusted and a repairer, so the saboteurs doing him in makes the most sense. Perhaps the saboteurs get a kill attempt every night now that the rogues are gone? It appears there were two acts of sabotage last night, so this might be the case. Or maybe robbiecon is a saboteur? Either way I'm assuming here that there are four saboteurs just like the rogues.

Speaking of robbiecon, Duke Blackstone can you confirm that he showed you the Navigation Override? I don't think you ever mentioned if you did. Also, what ever happened about your "positive scan" on CCRunner. Anyway, if the Navigation Override isn't in someone else's hands by midday, I think we should overwhelmingly execute robbiecon.

Also, in our search for saboteurs, we should look back at the vote we took about taking the long way or the short way. I think saboteurs would be more likely to pick the short way so that more damage could be done thanks to the mines. Of course I don't that vote should be used soley as a case against someone, but as a support.

Finally, we are running out of time before we end up in insurgent waters. No one should do any reapir to the engines at all (unless we correct our course of course!:p). If we are lucky they will get damaged by the all the leaking water and they will slow down. We need more time if we are going to have any shot at this.

I said that a couple Nights back, and I also stressed endlessly to Renata and CCRunner we should never have sped up the Engines in the first place. However now that the Reactor is overloaded in an unstable way, possibly, we might be risking further damage if the Engine Room goes into critical condition. So this isn't necessarily the best idea right now.

And yes, Ekolite was vig-killed. Not my first choice but we did get rid of a suspect and I'd think it's worth it to continue in the same vein. By votes, what you said is right and we do have some evidence/already on the suspect list that Paulus looks a lot like a saboteur for voting that way, as does Seon. Plus neither of them have any indication they've ever done anything Innocent, used an ability at night that we know about, etc...

I agree robbiecon should give the Navigation Override back, obviously, but we had a lot of saboteur stuff going on with him brigged so not sure what proof we'll have otherwise. Hopefully we can use the Override tonight as fortunately neither the Bridge nor Nav Bridge systems are offline.

OOC: You people just had to go ahead and kill off every single one of my MSN contacts except one, did you?

*beats head on wall*

IC: I'll take the army knife, I am bored doing nothing every night anyways.

In addition, I vote on giving the Air Rig to BSmith. By giving a repair item to him, the results of which are shown in every morning phase, we can always keep track of what he was up to during the night.

Perhaps you can answer if he was the one you/sprig gave the bomb to then?

Oh, alright then.

robbiecon.

Strange though. How did you come to know this, as opposed to rhawn figuring out via his method of interrogation?

Well it's quite possible Methos finally realized he ought to cough up who he had the bomb transferred to. If it's someone else still they'd likely be guilty too but Methos needs to confirm. No one else we knew of had it and Renata didn't tell us before she died, but there was quite an indication robbiecon/sprig had been in touch a while.

I highly doubt that the Saboteur team and Rogue team would cooperate with each other.

No, but Methos made sprig give his bomb to someone. None of the rogues had it and they're dead.

Possibility 1: Sprig gave the bomb to his rogue friend, who detonated it.

Possibility 2: Sprig gave the bomb away to another person, who detonated it for reason x.

Possibility 3: Sprig gave the bomb away to another person, who kept silent about it.

Possibility 4: sprig gave the bomb away to another person, who disposed of it via method x.

I don't have time to read the above at the moment, but robbiecon is a killer and needs to be lynched!

How on earth can I be a killer when I was in the brig?

Methos, it is time your rule came to an end.

I think we got our saboteur. :)

How can I be a Saboteur either, look at all the damage caused last night, I was in the brig, I couldn't have caused any of that.

And why would I be making absolutely sure that someone with a repair ability would get my Chief Warrant Officer position, which included repair perks, if I were a Saboteur.

If sprig was actually telling the truth about the bombs being a timed device, you could have easily planted the bomb before going into the brig.

And why would I be making absolutely sure that someone with a repair ability would get my Chief Warrant Officer position, which included repair perks, if I were a Saboteur.

WIFOM. That would be what I would be trying to do if I was in your shoes. It would make me look...unsaboteurish.
