NOTW XXXIX: Impending Retribution Game Thread

Takhisis, I have reasons for letting him have the key.

Methos, another day has already been wasted in lynching me off.

Well, no point PMing it. Let everyone see. I believe it's something called unreliable scanner. Or perhaps it is because my role is Marine Marksman. On arriving upon this ship I took an Assault Rifle from someone, and had it placed in the armory. Now given my role as Marine Marksman, it is safe to assume I have probably killed in the past, but I only seek to injure saboteurs and/or rogues upon this voyage, although I believe the Claymores are capable of killing, however they have not thus far.

This is your only defense, but then you go on to try to lynch me, who has been doing the exact same thing...

Good point, but apparently that's not the only thing you've been doing at night. Hence, my vote.

On the Robbiecon issue, I'm 50/50 about him. Methos, if you want to kill him that badly, why don't you send one of the vigilantes ? I'm sure classical will just need a small hint to be using his sword tonight.
Or why not doing it yourself ?

No explanations, robbiecon? Not even to the town? OK.

This is a military vessel. We'd all yield 'killer' results if it's just about having killed someone at any point in time.

At this point, lynching CCrunner is out of the question because of the time limit. If robbiecon is brigged, we will not be able to determine his alignment, and he will be vigilanted tonight.

I would much prefer if we used the vigilante on somebody else.

Journal Entry Number Thirty. 20:00 shipboard time.

The confusion continued for the second half of the day, though they finally reached a consensus on what to do about Chief Petty Officer robbiecon. Between being found guilty of killing someone and his possession of the Navigation Override Card at the time of the ship’s abrupt U-Turn, the bulk of the crew thought it best to outright kill robbiecon. It was argued another night in the Brig would do nothing. Despite a lot of waffling back and forth on other crew members suck as CCRunner, Izipo, and Methos, robbiecon maintained a comfortable lead over the others at the days end and was fitted for the noose.

“You guys gotta stop relying on the kill scan guy,” robbiecon reasoned. “That’s two now…”

“Would you have preferred us kill you last evening then?”

“You know what, yea! Would have saved me the torture of having to witness everyone stumble around blindly. Plus you would have been a whole day closer to coming up with something of substance. This is just painful…”

The ship caught a swell just right, sending robbiecon over the edge to become a gruesome ornament on the side of the ship. Satisfied he was dead after the confessed Marine stopped twitching, the crew went below decks to check out his stuff. Sure enough, there was just Winston Hughes’s Photograph left behind from days ago. It seemed a few years had passed instead.

Spoiler :
robbiecon was innocent.

The good news didn’t end there. Another mine had hit and once again the Electrical Room suffered the direct hit. Once again, the security locks were offline and the crew was free to move about the cabin, err, ship.

Lastly, the items were handed out to their new owners. Earthling was the big winner of the day. Aside from his promotion, the crew saw fit to entrust the Nuclear Launch Key “B” and Thunderfall Missile Codes with him. BSmith1068 also won two items, the Assault Rifle and Key to the CIC. Duke Blackstone would receive the Portable Compressed Air Rig, rhawn the Key to the Armory, and Izipo the Swiss Army Knife.

The crew went to bed wondering exactly how much time they had left alive. They were no closer to finding the saboteurs from a day ago and the ship’s course still hadn’t been corrected. That plus the prospect of all the new kill methods that had reared their ugly head meant panic was becoming a steady companion and any night could be their last. The sun was setting in more ways than one…

Journal Entry Number Thirty-One. 06:00 shipboard time.

Well, good news, bad news.

The good news is the ship has been successfully turned around! It is no longer heading to insurgent waters and it would seem that threat is now a thing of the past. Bad news? The Saboteurs struck again and completely disabled the Engine Room. The ship was dead in the water and wasn’t moving anywhere until the reactor was brought online. So while the ship was still stuck in the insurgent’s minefield, the good news is it hadn’t and wouldn’t hit mines so long as it wasn’t moving. Of course, that also meant the ship wasn’t making anyway headway to port. If they could get the reactor back online, it’d mean we’d have roughly six days to our home port remaining. Someone higher on the totem pole would have to decide if the risk of hitting more mines was worth getting home.

Good news, bad news.

Continuing on the theme, the Deck had received attention during the night and a good chunk of the gaping holes had been repaired. There still had been some collateral damage to the usual areas however, but it was something that could be easily handled with a night of dedicated repair. However, the Pump Room had also been hit, and the lower compartments once again would begin to flood with the important system offline. By the end of the day, some flooding damage was expected. Fortunately though, the Electrical Room had received just enough attention to bring the ship’s secure locks back online. I’m sure CWO3 Katie “Earthling” Xanatos would be pleased.

Except Earthling’s reaction to the news would never be voiced. The crew found her in the Sleeping Quarters in the same fashion as Autolycus had been and the scene was brutal to say the least. This new method of killing certainly wasn’t as elegant as the Rogue’s style, but nevertheless it was equally effective. Despite the crew’s all encompassing opinions of the outspoken sailor, a search of her belongings revealed

Spoiler :
Earthling was innocent.

The death didn’t end there. The crew thought it might be a good idea to wake up some of their more silent crew members and the scene surrounding Niklas was unforgettable. He was laying peacefully in his cot, minus his head. The nearby walls were covered in blood and other bits of gore, and a small hole could be seen in the wall where his head used to be. A closer inspection revealed only a high velocity weapon could have done this and the crew was on alert now for a new someone with some specialized weaponry.

Spoiler :
Niklas was innocent.

There was once again a large variety of items to be voted on again. As the crew dwindled in number to below half its original complement, it was only natural to see more and more items come up for vote. Nevertheless, they were all placed in the Galley for vote today. They were robbiecon’s Photograph, Earthling’s Nuclear Launch Key “B”, Thunderfall Missile Launch Codes, Key to the Engine Room, and Decryption Key. Only one item was found with Niklas, his Medication.

There were two interesting tidbits left to mention this morning. First, DaveShack received a promotion to Chief Warrant Officer, Four from his Chief Petty Officer position. Second, PO2 Seon was missing at breakfast, but after a long search he was discovered in the CIC suffering from severe shrapnel wounds. The remnants of an exploded Claymore dotted the scene. When asked if he was alright, he responded with, “Owwwwiieeeee.” Looks like he’ll live, though he’ll be laid up in the Sick Bay and unable to do anything for the next two nights.

A high-velocity weapon? What on earth would that be? :hide:

Do we lynch CCRunner or not?

Like the last time it was up for a vote, I want to take a look at the Photograph.
Assuming he's Innocent, Doctor Seon should get the Medication.

I ordered somebody with a sniper rifle to kill Niklas, and I shall do so on another target tonight.

I have walked into the claymore willingly. Several people here can attest to that.

Everyone living is to roleclaim to me by midday. Failure to do so will result in a lynch.

My roleclaim, I'm the only helicopter pilot, etc. etc., chopper can be used to ferry people off the ship, I can train new pilots, don't even think of stealing mah bird, etc. etc. Can I go now?

Well Seon you can suggest someone else, but you will not be suggesting another inactive. I liked my suggestion to the killer a lot better and think we should consider acting on it.

Well, good job insurgents !
Shall I vote, CCRunner again ? I don't know, the other prime suspects like Earthling and Robbiecon were so guilty that shudder just thinking what will happen if he's found guilty.

OOC : The forums were down for most of the day. Was it just me, or everyone ?

I’ll go with CCRunner for now too.

(OOC: Everyone had the problem with the servers being down.)

Everyone living is to roleclaim to me by midday. Failure to do so will result in a lynch.

There are a few problems with that plan, chief among them being that I'm not sure all 17 of us (well, 16 if you don't include yourself) will be online to claim in that brief of a time-span.

You already know who I am, I think.

Earthling and robbiecon turning up innocent makes Methos and CCRunner look much more guilty by comparison. Especially CCRunner.

To All Repairmen: I need information on exactly where you were repairing last night.

I repaired the electrical room. The item I have grants me the ability to repair. I can't check right now, but I believe its two points.

Oh, really Methos?

But if I remember... something from a day ago... did you not say that you cannot do anything at night because you had to communicate with your superiors back home?

I think Earthling mentioned that his superiors didn't care about that any more- the airstrike was a one-time deal.

I also repaired the Electrical Room, with an item that gives one repair point. I've since given said item to someone else.

No it doesn't, Earthling has been innocent since he was scanned such a while ago. It just means he was deluded.

I'd like to ask everyone voting for me... on what grounds? I did exactly what I freaking said I could do and you're still not convinced. Plus the fact that I'm a repairman which is the exact opposite of the saboteur team...
