The film Avatar produced, I think, some very plausible near-future weapons systems, the most obvious being the twin-rotor "RDA Scorpion." Note that cantilevering the rotors individually helped steer the craft. Examples below.

That sketchup model that is an upgraded Apache (using the twin rotars) also looks interesting.
