Okay, so there is a sizeable contingent of OT in Chicago this summer.

I'm visiting the city for three days, July 14 through 16 and would like to see if we can gather interest for a little meetup Friday, July 15 sometime in the early eveningish.

Heck, it's worth trying.

Who's with me? I'm looking at you, downtown and Hygro.

Proposed Date: July 15, 2011
Proposed Time: Whatever works, my formal responsibilities end at 5pm
 
I didn't know you were in Chicago, Godwynn! I don't look at "locations", silly things.

It's always been a life goal of mine to meet up with you. What do you say?

A Whomp is fine too, of course.

I am the roommate of one Mr. Downtown.

Hell, Hygro spent the night on our couch this weekend.
 
I'm just sayin', I'll be in town the 15th with nothing to do after 5pm. It'd be a damn shame if I didn't get to hang out with you guys.

Glad you'll be in town dude. I imagine I'm free that weekend, but one way or another, we should meet up for beverages. What brings you to the Chi? Econ conference?
 
Woohoo! A Chicago meetup!

Doubt my mom would let me go downtown to meet up with a bunch of people from the internet though, so, count me in in another year or so :p

Yeah, the annual Stata conference is in Chicago this year and it looked as good as any excuse to get out of town for a few days. Some of the econometrics bigwigs are going to be there.

Then I thought to myself, "self, half of OT's in Chicago this summer" and using my impeccable logical skills...
 
Have a ball, I won't be going due too...

1. Don't have enough money
2. Unemployed
3. No one would want to see me or punch me in the face for being a jerk in OT.
 
I'll be in Chicago in Oct., but not July.

Cool, the Gleacher Center isn't too far from my office. Is there anything in particular you want to do/see while you're here?
