Okay played 2 and a bit turn. Took ages!!!

The indian hub is cleared. They came at our city with a HA and spear and they both died. I sent in a stack of 9 units and met little resistence.

Ragnar - Cleared both the southern cities. Took 1-2 losses but overall the combats went mostly our way.

mansa - His northern coastal city is ours. His capital remains a thorn. He will currently offer banking and drama for peace. Not tried it with astronomy.

Overall the indian units can heal up and move on to next target. I think Ragnar will be gone pretty soon. 2 cities left but he still has horse.

We are currently losing 224 gold a turn and have 86 curs. Near the sweet spot. Like I said this game will be over pretty soon. Turnset log to follow.

I have not tried yet. I would like the capital razed first! It has 8 defenders. At current speed we are taking 1-2 cities a turn. In 15 turns we could have another 30 or so cities.

At 70 cities we could be at the domination target. It could be worth taking astronomy now for peace.

The English defences. I only found 2-3 or so longbows in each city. There was no big stack. Weak and pathetic Ai hence the idea to have a stack near the barb cities.

My main concern is we will reach the end and not have the wizard dead!
 
A few thoughts. We would have to whip galleons from the captured mansa cities as it is likely mansa won't reopen borders.

Need to reasses the units and what is needed to prepare Lizzy war! I think we should get this started soon.

Thoughts:

1) Might as well clear the Mali hub. He still has that city over by Monty. He will give us Astro at that point.

2) Idea! After we finish Rag soon, ignore that last Asoka city and make peace for Banking. We don't want that isolated city at this point anyway

3) Let's whip off those unhappies in Sheep for a Courthouse. It'll finish a Cur anyway.

We can't make peace with Asoka as this blocks us from attacking Mongols. This would be an issue.I doubt he would reopen borders with us now. Ceasefire would work better. Do we really need banking? The foreign trade routes are quite useful right now. A few banks might help but not at cost of stopping a war.

Rags. We have about 14-15 units left. These need to heal a bit. We have 2 cities left to take. Should be able to send 8-9 to attack English/mongols. Some of these can attack the 2 English cities north of it first. Again it will be tough to split them between the English and Rags.

Indian hub. Main issue is the 2 phants and xbow of Lizzy. What are they doing grrrr. We need to get 5-6 units there before we declare. Perhaps even whip some more curs.

Shaka hub. A barb city has spawned!! grrrr. We should probably take this or raze it. Should be able to send 4-5 curs at mongols/the barb city. Raze/ leave or capture??

Home hub has about 20+ curs units ready now to attack Izzy but we need to wait a turn due to phant/xbow.

Mansa hub has about 26 curs units with quite a few wounded. The 2 mansa cities come out of revolt this turn. We would ideally like to be whipping galleons here right now. Would be nice to free these up to attack the Mongols really. maybe try to take the AP city and destroy it first. We need a plan to split up his 7-8 units he has near his capital.

The main issue is how to deal with the English. So many units scattered. We could split the 20 stack up a bit and send 4-5 south and await the Indian reinforcements.
This would add another 15 to the English attack later on. We can use 4-5 units to protect the Zulu hub.

Other cities need to whip c/h's and maybe a few markets. Cities in unhappiness can whip 4-5 pop buildings. CH's top of list.

Overall we need to keep taking cities or our economy will dry up. We need to get astronomy asap and kill the wizard before all out war. Aztecs and indians can be left to last if needed. I don't think they will be needed.

They have about 22% of land. The mountain areas account for 7-8% of land. If we use all other bits of land we should have enough. If we kill off the 2 teams the % to win will fall anyway.

@ lymond. We could whip sheep. The war unhappiness is killing us a bit. Would he give astronomy now??
 
To put it politely I think you all are far too relaxed about the time it will take to get astronomy and kill the wizard.

Maybe 10+ turns.

3-4 galleons? 12 curs?

4-5 turns for the galleons to reach the wizard.

If we could take astronomy now you are looking at 7-8 turns. If we wait maybe 9-12 turns?

Main issues are:

1. When to take astronomy and go for wizard. Take peace now if he will offer it? take capital and hub then decide?
2. How far to go with mansa. When to declare on English/Mongols.
 
I'd say we take the extra turn to raze Timbu, i don't like that Monty and Gandhi have every city in Hindu.
Probably a good idea to move all Curs near close, low health if cleanup is needed.
Then take peace for Astro, rest of his cities hardly matter.

I'd also start moving Curs to Oxford, we shouldn't start with Newcastle.
Seeing what Lizzy has in the cities you scouted, i'd say we have enough already :)

All on Curs, settlers and some minor Culture looks good. We can always scratch up some gold from building wealth etc. if it should get closer to being broke, i think we could still continue with Curs from our homeland and wealth in all captured cities if it comes to it.

In terms of attacking timbuk!

It has 7 defenders with 1 pike soon to join. We stand to lose 7-8 curs if we attack it. Unless we could draw some away from the city. We have at least 6-7 at 2/3rds strength. Overall about 17 units near the city and 1-2 on the way.

Could we entice mansa to a fairly undefended city? A few workers for him to capture? hmmmm. I think Lymond and others all agree about razing it.

Starting the war. Main concerns are those 3 wandering units. They could do some serious damage. We have a lot of undefended cities.

Just take the losses imo and attack till it's down. You can surely put tempting workers around him :)

I wouldn't worry about wandering units, we have so many new Curs roaming by, from Shaka's hub too, that Lizzy has no shot.

Fair point. The 3 units are directly outside an indian city. They would take the city as it has about 1 defender if any. I call that a risk. ;)

Okay I will move troops into position this turn. Try to ensure we are not crossing a river. Once done I will demand at least astronomy for peace.

The English war will start once we are on the side of Oxford and can attack.

Once rags 2 cities are down I will think if a ceasefire is worth a go.. I will also keep a unit spare to scout for mongol forces near the Indian city. I will most likely heal up units first.

Cities out of revolt can 3-4 pop whip builds. CH's most likely.

Okay I was going to heal up the Ragnar stack when he suicided a pult and a pike on our curs and almost killed his longbow. So I sent in all units to follow up that success. Ragnar has one city left and we have about 10 units on it's border.

This witch is almost dead!!! ;)

Mansa. I strolled in with 19 units. He had 2-3 extra units that turn. We lost 3 curs. Much better than i had predicted. I just went for it. :lol:

I have not taken peace yet as I saw Mansa had a settler in his next city. I have forked his 2 coastal cities. he can't defend both. Our units are wounded but can still take a city or 2. As for peace only way to see if Mansa will give astronomy is to offer it.

Indian hub. Our troops are ready to take on the 2 phants and xbow.

Our units near home hub are ready for war too. 15-16 units ready to go. 10-12 units on the other side. we will hit lizzy hard with 30+ units. We can take some for mongol war.

Our score has dipped. Mainly because i have whipped nearly 20 curs and whipped away cities coming out of revolt. We will have nearly 90+ curs soon.
