The American Now Party will be the first to condemn the Neo-Confederates. We would like to remind that the Civil War ended in 1865 and that since then, the rift between the North and South had been mostly healed in part thanks to the strong economic policies that resulted in both Northern businessmen and workers and Southern businessmen and workers prospering. Need I remind the South about how men from all regions, North and South, and of all classes banded together to avenge the USS Maine in 1898?
Need I remind them of the war we fought side-by-side in 1917 and 1918 against the Kaiser? There have been good times and bad times since 1865, but they were times the North and South suffered together to form a uniquely American identity, not an identity tied largely to regionalism. When we fought the Spanish Empire in 1898, we did not fight as New Yorkers and Virginians against Spain. We fought as Americans against Spain. All our boys wore the same uniforms when they made the journey across the Atlantic to fight and die in the trenches together in France.
Likewise, there is another nasty anarchist movement called the "Free America" Anarchist group. These anarchists target factories and businesses from California to Detroit to New York. Whereas some extremists in the South are fighting to form their own country by forging an artificial identity and turn back the hands of time, there are extremists in the north who are violently trying to impose their will on the government of the United States.
Mind you, times are tough for some. The America Now Party, the current government, and even the peaceful (though we find distasteful) Syndicalist Party know this. The formation of the new parties should come as a sign that Americans do believe that change is needed to not just create prosperity, but to secure prosperity, across the United States of America.
In the same breathe we condemn the southern extremists, we condemn the northern anarchists. Because of both of these groups, Americans have been unable to return from Europe in peace. Because of both these groups, American fighting men and the American people have to be vigilant for anarchists and violent secessionists.
The Great War is over. Americans just want to return home, find a decent job, start a family, and feel secure. They want to know that the future is bright and thanks to our democratic system, there are peaceful routes to these goals. Instead, the anarchists and secessionists stand oppose to everything our country was built upon, including democracy. Their ideology is attempting to breed new Kaisers right in our backyards.
The American Now Party, like any legal and free party of the United States of America, can only hope to stand on our soapbox, make our views known, and hope that the American people vote us into state legislators, governor manors, Congress, and the Presidency. The idea that groups of men, armed with bombs and machine guns, can use force to override the will of the American people is a gross one and one that I, Ronald Fennigan, hopes the American people will reject. The idea that these same men can use bombs and machine guns to overturn sixty years of growing American prosperity and unity, including our common victories in 1898 and 1918, is an idea that I hope the American people will reject.
In these time of anarchist attacks and shady secessionist violence, the American people should lend support to the government by reporting suspicious activity. This isn't just a question of politics, but a question of safety for our children, our livelihoods, and our communities.
