Nice story alex, though the font effects for just normal speech make it a really disjointing read. Also that Atooan failed to read the Dathic background - whole moons were filled with immigrants and they were pretty keen on the old money grubbing.

Spoiler Battlelog for the BATTLE OF TORPOR :The COMMODORE'S have sent nearly their entire fleet to strike at Torpor, the achilles heel of the CSSERIAN Trading Empire. Some are a bit dubious about this action and as they begin their orbital insertions they recieve a broadcast from KIA COMMON that this is madness and they should break it off.
Many are loyal to the Commodores despite their doubts (how the else would they be ship captains otherwise), and others have no doubts at all about the direction of the Commodores policy. The FLEET IS SPLIT, some declaring for Common, the others sticking to the original plan.
The CSSERIAN defenders scramble, but for the FIRST ROUND they don't know WHICH STANDARDS ARE WHICH, do they fire at random and hit ships that don't intend to strike them?
Potted Summary of the VALK involvement:
Commodores: "Hey dudes we're attacking Torpor right this year, be there in full force"
Valk: "lolwut?"
Commodores "I'll take that as a yes (and tell everyone the Valk are fully on board)"
Csserians
Due to ROLLS the main body of the CSSERIAN FLEET sent to reinforce Torpor will not arrive in time for this first battle. If the Standards win here they will have to fight that reinforcement fleet (not before getting to use their Siege rolls however).
Neither sides have surprise as the Csserians were warned by the reformest Standardites

3 hit for a total of 26 Damage! The Shepard might be able to shrug off another orund of this, but its touch and go.

The Commodores manage to enage some of the Reformers before they close with the main ships, but others get through.
The Fairfax manages to skillfully evade one of the incoming razorfins but is caught by the other

Only one close range can actually be evaluated - the Fairfax C on the Razorfin
Fairfax gets off its two missiles, one neatly pots in for exactly 13 damage. The Razorfin crumples and breaks.

The Reformest NDWs hold their fire, warding against being engaged by the assault boats
The Commodores free NDWs both fire at the Csserian Fairfax
-They crash in for a total of 30 damage, but the Fairfax endures
the Fairfax fires its fast missiles at Razorfin E and its heavy buster at the slower moving NDW B, the Bravehearts fire all their missiles at NDW B as well
-The Fairfax fast missiles explode aroudn the razorfin, but it limps through with ONE HP REMAINING
-The Fairfax's heavy missile crashes into NDW B for MASSIVE DAMGE (actually 33)
-And then the bravehearts light missiles home in and finish it off! NDW B is gone!

Tight thrusts and coutner moves attempt to seperate and close the whirling Razorfins.
The Reformers that have closed with the Commodores main ships bare in, whilst those main ships in turn try to break away.
The Csserian Shepard tries to reach NDW C, its lasers heating up.
Engagements 2: Electric buggaloo
Most reformists managed to close to boarding range with but a single exception. meanwhile lots of new Close range combats break out

UNSURPRISINGLY EVERYONE FIRES AT PEOPLE IN CLOSE RANGE
Every one of the Shepards shots hits, sizzling the NDW down to a mere 3 HP
NDW F manages to hit its engaging razorfin but doesn't manage to destroy it, and NDW E misses altogether
Similar stories happen in reverse with NDW A and D
By saving up their shots for close range the marksman manage to obliterate the closing Razorfins in a hail of photons. If two razorfins had managed to engage the story would have been very different.

Razorfins B and I clash to no conclusion
Razorfin C rapes J and slaughters all their crew without mercy (those whacky standards!). Razorfin J is now inert and can be claimed by the winner of the battle.

The Merciless Marksman massacre the Csserian remaining fairfax with one long range beam and demolish the Shepard with another (perhaps in over optimising the Shepard to fight razorfins, the designers neglected its effectiveness against stationary beam platforms).
The bravehearts launch a volly of missiles at NDW C, easily taking out the crippled ship.

Everyone succeeds in their attempts to come in and board
The Bravehearts don't live up to their name and try to flee for interplanetary space

The Reformest Standardites deicde not fire any more at their closign boarders, decrying the loss of life.
The Commodores would be willign to let the reformist go, but still fire on the ones closing to boaridng range.

APPARENTLY NOT YET A PEACE. THE COMMODORES FLEET RELAISES THEY NEED ONE OF THE REFORMERS NDW'S TO GET AWAY FROM TORPOR AFTER FULFILLIGN THEIR MISSION
Razorfin D boards NDW F
NDW F is damaged in the battle for control, but manages to reply the boarders at the cost of being IMMOBILISED
Marksman A boosts speed of all razorfins

The Fleeing bravehearts take pot shots against marksman B, dealing minor damage thanks to the latters thick armour

The reformer ships attempt to disengage, but Razorfin A sticks on NDW E like somethign that is sticky
Surfing on the Marksmans beams two free razorfins easily catch up to the fleeing bravhearts
The Reformists offer to turn over the damaged NDW F if the Commodores let the rest of them go. The Commodores accept.

Okay the Battle is mostly OVER as the Reformers will depart, leaving only the inevitable ship boarding rolls for the bravehearts (they can't escape at this point).
The Bravehearts don't manage to do any damage to the razorfins as they close
Braveheart A is eventually captured
Braveheart B is destrooooooyed in successive boarding attempts
