The Shipmaster looked around the bridge and watched with a hardened look on his face. Some of these people were traitors to the cause which the true soldiers aboard were fighting. The Shipmaster hated traitors. He held such great hatred for them in the pit of his stomach that it would burn when he was confronted with one.
How ironic, the Shipmaster thought to himself. Here I am condemning traitors when thats exactly what I am. A traitor to the Covenant. The Empire, the Religion, the Army that had been most of his life thus far
But then he woke up from his daydream and saw the accusations flying. First it was one man, then another, then a third.
Then one man stepped forward and said, I believe that Dreadnought is a member of the Flood!
Dreadnought denied these accusations. But what had been said had been said. The votes piled on, and on, and on.
The day came to a close, and the crew was calling for Dreadnoughts head. Lets get him! was the cry.
Kill that alien!
Burn him alive!
More cries ensued, and the Shipmaster decided that he would intervene before a riot ensued.
SILENCE! he bellowed. Dreadnought, you have been sentenced to death by your peers. Do you have any last words?
Dreadnought began to speak, When I was on Earth, do you know how much I did? I was involved in the Battle of
A shot rang out. A marine was standing in a gap in people holding a smoking shotgun. We all served. Dont insult the rest of us with your alien lies.
The rest of the crew concurred, and some mumbling and nodding ensued. They seemed disappointed however, when after 10 minutes Dreadnoughts body had remained as it was.
No cloaking? a marine asked.
Guess not, Johnson said, making his way to the front. Well check in the morning people. Now get the hell outta here. Were all gonna need some sleep tonight.
This is a sizable maybe, but perhaps only cover roles are revealed. For Flood, this would probably be the host. Of course they're also marred beyond almost all recognition in the case of the later and obviously not a human marine in the case of the former, hence the "sizable."
If anything we should be discussing a much needed check back over the rules and if any townies know more about some particulars from their role. Considering the ruleset doesn't rule out a lot of a paranoia setup and I'm not sure how equipped the town is to deal with it at all, it seems we might need to be really careful. Dead players having and being able to use abilities? (presumably that would be about zero townies) And I'd agree Halo lore seems to suggest that alien infestation/mind control is the likely background for the third parties so don't know how much they get in game mechanics, wish the rules had eliminated some of thee possibilities. Of course that means that anyone who replaces back into the game, the original role was plain townie, but we can't expect that and that shouldn't really happen.
Also, going to task for tonight: any townie who intends to use a positive ability or protection for me please come talk to me or reconsider your orders, otherwise we could be outright wasting abilities. Obviously if your ability is to like roleblock etc... me that means you're a townie who doesn't trust me and that's fine, it's your call. Please just don't avoid coordinating and still use the ability - come talk to me or send the orders to use your beneficial ability to try to help other townies instead.
The Asian Tigers, Japan, tiny Mid East nations, and Turkey are the exception rather than the rule. How many people outside of them actually have Internet access, or even computers? China aside, that is, but they're an exception to the exception.
