Do they spawn randomly then in 'any' coastal city?

They don't spawn in large seas anymore. Areas blocked off by ice aren't considered a "sea." This is yet another good reason why Great Admirals should be able to build an improvement or travel on land.

I had three spawn in there in a recent game, and that is not connected to ocean in any way.

Sadly, I found that no civs have a city named "Is", or it would be able to be truly memetic.

Yeah, that would have been legendary. Isn't there one of the Babylonian towns called Ishtar or something like that? One could always cheat a tiny bit and remove the last part. :lol:

Hey quick question relating to these pictures:
About half of the screenshots have lines all across them, such as Cpt Oblivious's last post. Why is that?

I think it's some kind of graphical glitch that causes animal resources to be smeered across screenshots.

they were in the game previously. they just liberated them. grayed-out eliminated civs wont be in the list the next time you load the game so he was probably in another session after Babs got eliminated.

I had a simillar bug in a spanish game a few months ago. I built Machu Pichu and it spawned in... Uluru. Pretty weird. I might upload a screenie - I have it! - soon.
