A Democracy game?

Damn, I voted in the civ 2/3 poll, so now I have to join... :( ;) :)
There's still a space for me?!
If there isn't then oh well, one vote don't make a difference, right?

If I do join, then I'll just vote..

Political party idea might work if it's handled properly. Uh huh uh. (I dunno) :crazyeyes

I can see the benefit of citizens belonging to Cities....but not a party system. Not enough people or issues to have a party platform.

I dont really mean much member's for a party.like ten guys and five party's.(just pick a side)
It doesn't change youre voting right's. if you don't agree on youre party then you just vote for something else. You can leave youre party if you wish.
A party would be like multiplayer clan.and IF you agree with youre clan about an issue that has multiple option's and a lot of fragmentated voters ,then you can agree with them to all vote on 1 option that halfway represents youre thoughts about that issue to win the vote.

It's just an idea though ,it doesn't have to be implemented. It's just kinda socialy fun i think.

the again we started a social experiment already so i guess in the long run this is how it will work out.:)

Oh and i think the information officer needs two deputy's.

More than halfway in people already

There is no party system by default....but as the game evolves a party system may become necessary....or fun to have.

Perfect. :goodjob:
I was thinking to suggest that anyway ,for now ,let us first watch how this game unfolds. :)
And thus ,i hereby have founded my first clan/party. (submissions by pm please ;) )

Also...since no one seems to be appointing Deputies.....anyone who would like to volunteer!! Now is you chance!!

i wish power in real life would be so easy to grab. :crazyeyes

edit: typo's (coming to the conclusion that i have to learn better english and to give a discription of my edit's)

Well me for starters has the benifit of having 2 computers in lan.1 computer can run the game and the other i use to post if neccesary ,besides i guess you can Alt-Tab and post if you wan't to.The end-turn is an important moment of the day.Enemy movement takes part on the end of the turn ,thus has to be reported.City productions and scientific goals can be planned ahead.
Or Any Other System ,it can't be to hard.Time zone's ,we can manage it but it will need some flexibilety.

I think you misunderstood me. What I meant was that the president has to finish the turn by the end of the day, and that the end of the day for people in various parts of the world is different. The president needs the advice of his advisors before he makes his decision, but if these advisors don't post early enough then the president will have to go ahead and play the turn without their input. Our first president is in Belgium, which is nine hours ahead of the west coast of the US and Canada. If an advisor from California posts their decision at 6PM their time, then for the president that would be 3AM the next day, and he may already have played the turn and gone to bed. We will need to set a certain time based on GMT as the end of the day, and this may change depending on where the current president is.

I think that at the beginning of each turn the President post a detailed report of all AI moves and city productions. I think it would also be a good Idea for the game to be saved, zipped and available for download.

After reading the report each of the advisors posts what they think would be the best actions taken, and then everyone votes on those choices.

It will need flexible sollution's ,but we can work it out. Most things in civ can be planed ahead anyway.

I am sure we can develop a schedule so that everyone knows when thier posts need to be submitted by and we can have a plan of action if they arn't in by that time. This way everyone knows what's expected of them.

I think that it is important that the system we develop be essentially simple, if it's too complicated things could get bogged down in red tape and decisions not made in time.

That is why I proposed a simple solution where the president posts the turn report along with his suggestions on what he thinks and then by a designated time each of the leaders submits thier list of actions for the current turn. These should be up with 4 to 5 hours at least for discusion and voting. After the votes are in, then the President can take the apropriate actions and end the turn. Then after the ai moves and the next turns begins submit the next report and the cycle starts all over again!

Awl, man! This is gonna be awesome! I can't wait!

Oh Well ,i concur to.But then if another nation at the end of the turn threatens with war for say if he doesn't get sanitation ,do i make the Dicisson? No problem with that :) (in that particular case ,i may give the bad smelling a.i his sanitation  ) ,or do i pass it on to my diplomacy leader?
I'll make plenty of screenshot's though.

To bad i'm not so good in english ,my reports will be full of typo's.Picture this ,a president that make's anouncement's full of mistake's an errors.Could that exist in real life ;)

Duck I am sure your reports will be fine! As far as if a diplomacy window pops up, then you can take a screenshot and call for a quick vote. You make a poll and after one hour you base your decision on that poll. The pop up window will wait for you! :)

I want to sign up. I hope I'm not late.
Count me in for any spot left.

I think that this is right. Although they will have accepted a great deal of responsibility, it would be unfair to expect the President to have to spend all night on the PC waiting for a decision to be made. The cost of having to keep Civ on all the time as well as surfing this site to find out what is suggested for longer than an hour would be a major obstacle for those planning to run for presidency. As well as the fact that some of us aren't vampires and will be needing to get some sleep. Not that I'm planning to preside over our fledgling state (like the imagery Duck?), but for those who are, they shouldn't be forced to wait all night to see if we should give the Zulus Navigation.
