America: Write Your Own History

OOC: I'm just worried how RT is going to react to all these debates.

Also, this whole electing people thing is taking a lot of space, we should just elect someone who isn't Hitler.

And I'm kind of disappointed no one is going to react to Mbeza being arrested in Boston, but whatever.

OOC: People will probably just leave the story for you 5 to keep discussing about whatever you are discussing. Instead of making several small posts like a chat you should try to make posts better worked, without all that fighting that has been the rule since the communists took the government.

E.G. @TheNoob: Only 4 people didn't say anything about your post that could have said. Have you considered you got disappointed with an information only less then 1 hour after you posted it. Nobody else could have seen this yet, only you 5.

People have lives and other things to do, just check how many hours you have spent discussing the alternatives to pacify the mess that alternatively we all did when commies came to power, another alternative episode of america's elections on this alternative story RT has started months ago.

If something is directed to few people, it should go to the talk your own mind group indeed. Here we should let the story go. Of course debates should happen, but not so fiercely, and most importantly: not so fast!

The worst problem is the speed. It's so fast that people lose interest because they can't keep with all this info that's popping tremendously fast.

Even the power RT gave us to create side stories on this universe are being cast away to favor direct confront by supporters of USSA and supporters of Secessionists.

It would be a lot better if we kept having Atlantic Pacific stories, most of the voters giving their opinions in what has been happening, and most importantly, RTs reports on the situation. If it gets so fast, even RT won't have time and patience to drive this anymore. He can't even find time to look the other threads here, imagine going to sleep and waking up to see 10 full pages of '1-5 lines' posts about Capitalists and Communists brawling to see who the hell is going to accompany who to see the possibility of a forced labor camp in northern Canada.

Even when RT states that someone has died we dare to say he is wrong. I know we got a lot of liberty to create our side stories, but we should have some rules, even if they are not written and oficialised. RT is the creator of this, if he says: To hell with this, I'm tired of this story! We lose one of the most epic stories of S&T (I may have entered S&T not long ago, but seeing the other stories, and the stories labeled as the best stories of S&T, America Write your own History has 30.000+ views and ~2000 posts, and more then half of both came in less then a month. Celestial Bureaucracy doesn't have as many posts as this, and 90,000 views for 3 years of story compared to 30,000 for less then a year story).

My proposal is: When someone discussing here judges the discussion is getting somewhat personal (between few people, or chat-like with few lines posts falling in rapid succession) it should be transfered to America: talk your own mind.

I hope you don't take me wrong but I miss:

Sorry if I forgot someone, I tried my best to list most people I remember were alive for a big part of the story

And while I was writing you could complete another page and start the next one, and adhiraj.bose came back. This is kind of annoying, you can't lose time writing because you'll lose several posts that may outdate yours and turn a part of it useless.

Don't take me wrong friends and comrades, but we can't continue this if in 2 hours we are completely outdated and must take several minutes to read everything to catch up

Instead of flooding this, try to give some of your efforts to the other stories being hosted here. Many people are trying their first attempts, others their masterpieces, and we all are stuck on RTs story, but actually just to keep brawling about Commies vs Capitalists. Give the others a chance (I swear this isn't self advertisement :mischief:)

normally yes

but i demand someone...unbias

You called?

I live by a code of Honor, Integrity, and Loyalty. I absolutely hate traitors. Also, when I said prison camps, I wasn't talking about the kind that kills people. I was talking about the kind where you serve prison sentences. It is not yet built. I was funding it for traitors to suffer in the cold. We were not going to kill or harm them in any way.

Good joke, assassin.

And i propose a deal with the capitalists: The Trotskyists will help you destroy the Stalinist regime. In return, Debs moderate socialists polices must stay. It's time we let capitalism just slowly evolve into communism peacefully, so that a utopia can truly be formed

I wholeheartedly accept.

I think everyone needs to calm down and peacefully talk this out without arguments. Those of us who are able/willing to rejoin the Onion Union or are still there, we need to find a moderate Debsian candidate and pool all of our votes to him/her. Then, hopefully that moderate will see that a world war is much worse than a civil war and will reinvite the seceded states back, promising pardons, fairness and equality. We need to find a candidate who can do that and vote for him/her.

OOC: Waking up to 7 new pages was quite a surprise...

Thank you Spirictum. I love your guys' enthusiasm, it gives the thread something other threads don't have, but you can't flood the thread.
Furthermore, I am working on making the first post a link to all the important posts of the thread, that way you don't have to worry about losing a post.
I have already finished Foster's term; I just need to write for it.
Also, Stalin isn't dead.

I went to sleep and in the time of 2 in the morning until 10 there were three new pages. How about this. No new arguments until the next update?

Agreed. The only debates should be in the group thread

Give up, Foster! Give up, Stalin!

The majority of the world sees the United Front of South Africa, Cascadia, Dixie, Australia, and Argentina as the legitimate government of America!

That is definitely not true as most of the world does not see the government in Taiwan as the legitimate government of China.

This thread produces more history than it can consume.

What does that even mean?

Alright, the Opening Post is now open as an index. Reread history! Also, you can use it to find the current election and stories! No more thread diving through the flood of posts!

Only took two hours.

Link to video.

We love you RT!

June 1929-1930: The End to the Dixie Rebellion and Pacific Columbia

When we hang the capitalists they will sell us the rope we use. - Joseph Stalin

An emerging World War did not help stability of small nations that were pulled at from every direction to join the war. Both Vietnam and Palestine, following the Comintern Schism, violently fell into anarchy as politicians were paralyzed from making sufficient decisions.
Spoiler :

After the bombing of Georgia with guided missiles, aiming to hit both top Dixie politicians, generals, and exiled Trotskyists, infantry from Washington moved down the East coast and captured Savannah. The burning of the Dixie capital in Atlanta, and the hanging of Dixie military by military tribune proved to the world that secession from the United Socialist States of America was high, high treason.
Spoiler :

With most the world at war against Fosterist Communism (sometimes referred to as Stalinist by those who think Foster is a puppet), Foster met with the few communist friends America still had. Signing alliance with Egypt antagonized Saudi Arabia, who was friends with the USSA, but Foster stated that the friction is only caused from Saudi Arabia's isolationist policies during this war.
Spoiler :

War on the Pacific
The Commonwealth of Australia had amassed both an army, airforce, and navy large enough to compete with America following their declaration of independence. Months after independence, and weeks after the capture of Guinea and the Philippines, Australian ships engaged with American cruisers off the coast of California. Although defeating the first Australian vessel, the American cruiser was soon outrun by another Australian cruiser and sunk.
Spoiler :

Fighting off Honolulu had a similar destiny, with Australia focusing the entire navy on blockading Pacific trade routes. Following the blockading of Hawaii and California, the two states had a major economic crisis which led to the impeachment of both governors.
Spoiler :

The Fight for Panama consisted of 5 Australian cruisers vs 4 American cruisers. Heroically won by naval tactics that revolutionized future naval encounters, the American cruisers sank all but one cruiser that managed to sink a ship; the Australian ship then fled to Peru for sanctity.
Spoiler :

One of the few foreign possessions that didn't fall to military withdrawal and political anarchy, northern Chile was a modern day Alamo. The Coquimbo Guard, the nickname of the marine division that both politically stabilized the region and fought off Argentine, Peruvian, and capitalist insurgents, had received a telegram from Washington about a pending Medal of Honor for the division.
Spoiler :

Back in Texas, entering into 1930, received extensive bombings and aerial assaults along with bombardment from ships. The large Mexican army which initially posed a threat to the USSA and caused minor panic in the Midwest, was reduced to a raggedy band of distressed soldiers without aerial support. The well organized and funded American army swept up the remains of the army and marched on to Houston.
Spoiler :

When word came from Brazil that they had recaptured Uruguay from Argentine supporters, the Communist Party met in Brasilia to both celebrate and renew the Monroe Doctrine. Being extended to fighting corporate imperialism in the Americas, it was apparent that the Communist Party had no intention of losing their seat of power for a long time. Foster and Brazil's President met and discussed splitting the Americas between the two nations to secure a friendly American alliance.
Spoiler :

After fierce combat in Mexico, in July of 1930 Mexico announced the joining of Australia as a client state. Outraged, President Foster not only stopped taking Mexican political prisoners, but refused to accept any Australian diplomats.
Spoiler :

As fall colors began developing in the forest hills of Oregon, tanks rolled over lavender and dandelion growths of abandoned roads -- heading for Seattle. Although guerrilla tactics were planned and well executed by the Pacific Columbians, well reinforced modern tanks set fire to the woods that the troops were stationed in and annihilated front line defense to the city. With the capture of Seattle, Pacific Columbia's government fractured. The people of Pacific Columbia now only had the vague hope that their continued rebellion could somehow weaken Foster's administration.
Spoiler :

Back in Texas, Houston was captured, with secessionists and Mexican forces being hanged and shot by firing squad.

Spoiler :

When jet fighters and bombers reached New Orleans, reports that Trotskyists and Dixie conspirators leaked that they had fled to Mexico by boat and awaited in Guadalajara for transport to Australia. The capture of New Orleans ended the Dixie States rebellion, and President Foster began initiating Second Reconstruction policies of reduced civil liberties and increased military protection.
Spoiler :

After the fall of Seattle, by the beginning of 1931 the capture of Vancouver had been easily foretold. Thousands of rebels died with little American casualties, unable to face the superior weaponry of the USSA.
Spoiler :

While drifting upon the calm blue waves of the Gulf of Mexico, morale was low and chatter was non-existent. Both anti-Foster communists and capitalist secessionists sat together, drinking as allies against a common enemy. When asked, "What do we do now?" by Trotskyist Maoi, Dixie President simply replied, "We fight other battles. We win the war."

A letter to the people of Dixie from President Lord Bigfoot.

"People of Dixie, though the nation has fallen our spirit has not! I have given orders for the military to disperse into the wilderness and start guerilla warfare against the communists! I also urge everyone to continue the fight as I gather allies to retake our land from the minions of Foster and Stalin! And remember that no matter what we happens we must always face adversity with a brave face and do whatever possible to make it hell for the invaders of our land! We must never give up and never surrender!"

OOC: Great update RT!

And this is not good, our mainland allies have been captured! The southern hemisphere is our only hope for ending Foster's dictatorship

1931-1932: A Transition to Elections

After Thailand's annexation of South Vietnam, Thailand had established itself as a strong communist power in South Asia. Independent from the Comintern, Thai Communism had proved to be amazingly neutral during the world's war. Meeting with Foster in Washington, the two countries signed a cordial peace treaty and opened trade borders.
Spoiler :

Days after the treaty, realization of the rational behind the sudden friendliness from Thailand arrived when it was found Indonesia had become a client state of Australia.
Spoiler :

With air support moving to Central America following the end of Pacific Columbia and the Dixie States, Guatemala was quickly taken under American occupation.
Spoiler :

By July, air support had received a huge funding from the military. At science centers in Chicago, discoveries of material and design that eluded radar had made bombers once again as viable as jet fighters. Dropping research funding, the extra funds were immediately put to upgrading outdated bombers.
Spoiler :

The War in the Pacific continued as Australia produced ships as quickly as America could. Attacked by Mexican bombers, American cruisers off of California expected constant defeat.
Spoiler :

In late 1931, Foster met with Germany in Berlin and discussed American aid to the war in Europe. Germany was seen as the socialist shield against Russia, Turkey, and Italy. By 1932 relations with Germany finally began to improve, although attitude was still largely cautious.
Spoiler :

When Guadalajara was captured in early 1932, American forces were given orders to search for Trotskyists and Dixie secessionists. None were found.
Spoiler :

The capture of Guadalajara, the blockade of Cancun and the advancement of troops from Guatemala coerced Mexico into capitulation. Australia was infuriated. Mexico was quickly reconstructed, similar to the Dixie States, to stop dissidence and convert the society to communism.
Spoiler :

Sweden and Denmark joined the USSA in mid 1932 as well, after rising popularity with America following constant defense of the nation since the Finland Conflict.
Spoiler :

Nearing elections season, Foster made a case before the United Nations (with very heavy security, fearing assassination from nearly every corner of the globe) to extend the ban on nuclear weapons. Following the dissolution of the Comintern, Foster and the Communist Party feared for nuclear weapon production around the world. After an hour of passionate oration, every nation refused to vote in favor of the motion.
Spoiler :

France, recently declaring independence from Germany (under strong condemnation from the USSA, which thought it would weaken Germany's defense), bolstered their national pride by annexing both Madagascar and Italian Libya.
Spoiler :

Peace was signed with Mali, wishing to have a clean invasion path into South Africa and feeling Mali was only dragged into the war by obligation. Mali and America had friendly relations following the end of the conflict. Aerial reinforcements to Portugal against Italy, Germany against Austria, and Brazil against Argentina reinforced the global divide that had been created.
Spoiler :

The Communist Revolution will go down in history as controversial, to put it lightly. Historians will gaze in wonder where, at the height of power and near global domination, the American Empire collapsed and was recently eclipsed by the rise of Australia. With election underway, Foster capitalizes on the success of the Communist Revolution and the national welfare of the people.
Spoiler :

President Foster suffered a heart attack that year. His condition only grew worse as election day grew nearer.
