(North) Korea: The Fresh Prince of Pyongyang

It appears North Korean officials had been calling Chandragupta Not-Maurya-According-To-One-Of-The-Council-Members the wrong name. As Kim Jong was too lazy and focusing on other important things, he did not change it.

Spoiler :

As he could now do so, Kim Jong changed the way North Korea was being governed. Kim Jong felt that the economy could do better if he switched from Direct Rule to Vassalage, and started organizing the Buddhist religion and followers in the cities of North Korea. With these changes in lifestyle, cities and military units were in general cheaper, and religion was now something beneficial and could be practiced much more easily.

Spoiler :

In Pyongyang, Kim Jong ordered the production of something never before heard of in the land of North Korea: a navy. Kim Jong noticed ships that sailed the seas from nations such as Japan and China, and wondered why Korea didn't have any for themselves. In order to make up for this weakness, Kim Jong wanted to train at least 3 galleys in Pyongyang, and have them patrol the seas around the Korean Peninsula. The first galley would be the only to get a name, and that name would be Bada Keoto (Wave Cutter).

Life was pretty uneventful and peaceful in the nation as of now, and the citizens were happy with this. They hated war, and appreciated the peaceful path of peace, science, and expansion up to the wild north.

Spoiler :

As hoped for by council members of military and espionage since the founding of the North Korean council, a Great Spy had risen through the ranks during training in Pyongyang, and had become a prodigy in the field of espionage. This man was named Pebekkamen. Pebekkamen was first noticed to be a prodigy when he was found to have been an entirely different person during his graduation from spy training. After that, he had been ordered to do many inside jobs by Kim Jong himself, and was never caught once.

Kim Jong ordered this man to board Bada Keoto and head over to the island of Honshu, and go to Kyouto to see if he could steal technologies from the Japanese. All with due respect of course, as the Japanese were great allies, but they wanted much too high of a price for the knowledge of Civil Service. Once the mission would be completed, Bada Keoto would return to patrolling the seas for not-so-friendly ships.

Spoiler :

Unless noticed by North Korean citizens with sharp eyes, Kim Jong had ordered the training of a spy in Seoul to explore Asia and see what China truly had in its age-old nation. What the spy found was interesting. Mostly every area was paved, and China was quite a large nation with large cities with great culture. Kim Jong thought long about this, and ordered his spy to keep moving south to see how far this nation lasted.

As the spy kept going south, they made contact with a whole new civilization by the name of the Khmer. These Khmer people were even more backwards than the Japanese, and had odd looking hats. Their leader was named Suryavarman II, who had no facial hair that was as glorious as Kim Jong's, if any at all. Suryavarman unintentionally showed his envy by rubbing the spot where he would have a large mustache, but only Kim Jong held one at the spot above his lip.

Kim Jong took to action with these new people, as he would leave that to the council member of Foreign Affairs.

Council members, no update until all new policies are sent in

I would say continue to settle more cities but stay out of the land known as Mongolia.

Build up the army!

Excuse me, who are you, a peasant, to order Kim Jong what to do?

No, you have it all wrong... I was just giving a polite suggestion... To the glorious leader of the magnificent Democratic People's Republic... I would never be insubordinate to the People's Leader...

As minister of Science and Internal/Foreign Affairs, my policy is to:

- Continue to please our Japanese neighbors, and see what these strange southerners have to offer. If they seem to have lucrative deals, do not hesitate to take them.
- Take an isolationist stance toward China.
- Train lots of Naval Units and build cultural buildings.
- Research Naval Technologies.

Same policy as previous, We just need to continue expanding our cultural boundaries through war, temples, and libraries.

Train military is first priority.

Spoiler :

As most of the council members wanted North Korea to be isolationist with China, their not-so-peaceful neighbor, Kim Jong only wished for the least he could do once two prominent families from China and North Korea married and made everyone unhappy with their thoughtlessness about international taboo. With Kim Jong only giving minimal gifts, our relations with China did not change much.

Pebekammen had also successfully infiltrated Kyouto and is now operating from inside the city limits. With a great spy operating as a royal in Japan, we could now see what our friendly neighbor was really doing. Was it necessary? Probably not, but Kim Jong did it anyway.

Spoiler :

As the spy that Kim Jong ordered to explore entered the lands of India, Buddhist (or as it is starting to be called, Jongiasm) monks from a strange land called Tibet noticed our spy's deceitful soul and established contact between North Korea and Tibet. Their leader, Songtsen Gampo, was at war with China, and were liked us, despite our sneaky explorers.

Kim Jong opened borders to trade with these monks and saw they were more advanced than us. Kim Jong did not worry though, as he thought they would not last too much longer in the long run.

Spoiler :

Another civilization had noticed our exploring spy during his exploration. The Tamils were people who lived to the south of the Indians, and focused heavily on growth and trade. These people were willing to open borders to Kim Jong, and even had some decent resources up for trade that Kim Jong thought about.

Contact was also reestablished with Persia, who Kim Jong had thought collapsed long ago, but these Zoroastrian people were still alive, despite being quite unstable. The spy continued going west now to see what was out there.

Spoiler :

Now that North Korea had a navy of 4 galleys, and a soon-to-be trireme, Kim Jong thought he should start training some land units. Shenggyeang and Pyongyang were now training knights to sentry to the east of Shenggyeang until they were to be needed in case of an emergency.

Also, yet another civilization met North Korea, but unlike these other new nations, they hated our guts. Kim Jong already disliked this nation as even their leader looked like he was already ready to rip off Kim Jong's glorious (and handsome!) mustache. Kim Jong did nothing with Arabia, and wished to order his spy to keep moving west.

Information was given to Kim Jong, just as he had suspected, that China had wiped out the Tibetans. Kim Jong, sad to lose a nation that could have been allies, weak, but allies, to his rivals. There wasn't much he could do however, so Kim Jong just continued to give speeches around North Korea and shake hands of the citizens.

Council members, post your policies.

My Platforms:

Prepare Militarily for War
- Trade with anyone and everyone for technologies that would benefit our military.
- Train military units.
- After Compass, research (Engineering? Whatever gives us good siege equip.)

Diplomacy: Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere
- Build up in Power so we are much stronger than other nations.
- Declare War on China once deemed ready by our glorious dictator monarch.
- Ensure closer ties with our East Asian neighbors, with intent to eventually vassalize and/ or ally.

I agree to train military units to prepare war against anyone whom might attack. Build up massive forces of pikemen to take the Mongolian tribes of the North when they cohere into one nation.

And after that I suggest that you build some siege weapons to take the Post-Mongolian Chinese Warlords.

Same as before, we really Can't do much culturally until China is wiped out...by...aliens.
