NotW LIV - The Masque of Death

Backwards Logic is clearly scum, but he's getting the Dragon Mask anyway, so who am I to argue?

Visorslash is clearly scum, but he's getting the Sable Mask anyway, so who am I to argue?

Sprig is clearly scum, but he's getting the Indigo Mask anyway, so who am I to argue?

I'm not getting the Gilded Mask, ergo I'm clearly not scum.

Winston, are you voting to lynch Visor? If not, what is your lynch vote?

also just noticed this

He [Reidquat] also caught a poisoned dagger in the gut. What's more, you're trying to vote him back his own mask! :)

unvote:vote:Backwards Logic for Dragon mask. Out of the three currently trying to claim it, he looks best

If you look at eod, spacemans vote to save morgan is terrible

bsmith and sprig are lock clear as far as i care

morgan never votes his scum partner d1 you're on sketchy ground with that argument

i notice legato jimped from useless wagon to useless wagon

i'll bold the mask votes soon (about to have a shower and a brief nap i think).

i can't see myself voting anyone but spaceman today given that eod

Why the clear on Sprig? BSmith is currently dead and awaiting burial. Given that an Awnshegh killed him, he's probably clear, but we'll get host confirmation/denial of that at the end of today.

Alright, Visorslash can have the sable mask, since spaceman and snerk don't feel like ringing endorsements for Legato. Sprig, what makes Newyn sneaky?
I do not have any ringing endorsement for Legato, but he seems townish enough. (which I guess is a reason to keep an eye on him) Visor IMO as good as choice as Legato for a mask.

And yes do elaborate on your thoughts on Newyn, Sprig.

Sprig isn't cleared but it seems unlikely that he's KM's scum buddy. If he is then that's some pretty harsh d1 bussing..

I don't have anything particular to elaborate about Newyn. If I wanted to elaborate I probably would have done so with my accusation. Maybe I will later or maybe I will change my vote.

@Arakor, is this an actual thing or just flavour?

* Complicating the issue is the fact that this is a masquerade ball and it is a severe breach of protocol to reveal yourself before the conclusion of the ball, which is scheduled to end on the seventh evening. Do not shame your ancestors by defying Imperial protocol, lest unpleasant effects occur!

There may or may not be a further mechanical effect to make people think twice about role-claiming.

I would suggest reading your personal goal, Sprig. I can't confirm anything else at this stage.

Winston, are you voting to lynch Visor? If not, what is your lynch vote?

I did vote for Visor. The question, though, is why aren't you voting for him? Does his targeting of you for the lynch not strike you, as a townie, as a little too easy and convenient? He's come out at the start of the day, and looked to make you a lock for the lynch, and, in doing so, he's hardly given a strong suggestion of his own towniness. So where's the paranoia, the pushback, the fire of righteous indignation?

unvote; vote: spaceman

The thing is, I've seen Visor's town game, and this matches. He'll always come out early, making (usually unexplained) reads. These reads will often be wrong (as is the case here), though they do generate early discussion and momentum, so I can respect that. That's not to say I trust Visor. He's misrepresented what I've said in thread, and he "cleared" a dead person (though on the other hand, scum are usually more careful than townies, so that may actually be a town tell). I've tied to deny him the Sable mask because I regard him as a suspect, and its likely that the mask does something powerful. However, I don't see enough evidence right now to lynch him.

You on the other hand? Your vote locked in Visor receiving the Sable mask, while at the same time you cast a meaningless vote to lynch him (even if I were to support a wagon on Visor, there's almost no way he's hanging today). When I pressure you, you respond by voting for me, while encouraging me to go at Visor (a great way to keep the thread focused away from your bizzare vote with the Sable mask).

unvote: vote: Winston. Nice try. I'm not sure what your trying to pull with the assassin mask. Perhaps Visor is your scumbuddy and you want to vote it back to him, while distancing yourself. Perhaps not. In any case, especailly given this post:

Oops, silly me. It seems I accidentally left Visorslash's name bolded there. Now people will think I want to lynch him.

your clearly trying to pull something, and keep the rest of the thread in the dark about it.

Midday Mask Tally

Dragon Mask
Backwards Logic x5 (Sprig, Backwards Logic, Snerk, Winston, Spaceman)
Newyn x2 (Newyn, Visorslash)
Takhisis (Coyosis)

Sable Mask
Visorslash x5 (Visorslash, Legato Endless, Newyn, Autolycus, Winston)
Legato Endless x2 (Spaceman, Snerk)
Newyn (Sprig)
Coyosis (Coyosis)

Indigo Mask
Sprig x8 (Sprig, Coyosis, Spaceman, Autolycus, Backwards Logic, Snerk, Visorslash, Winston)

Gilded Mask
Autolycus x2 (Coyosis, Autolycus)
Legato Endless x2 (Sprig, Backwards Logic)
Snerk x2 (Spaceman, Snerk)
Winston Hughes (Winston Hughes)

Apparently entirely uninterested: Choxorn, Takhisis

After a period of protracted discussion, Backwards Logic was awarded the Dragon Mask, Visorslash was given the Sable Mask and Sprig was unanimously voted to receive the Indigo Mask. Unfortunately, no one could decide who deserved the Gilded Mask and the guests decided to determine the result by lots, which Snerk won.

Current Vote Tally

Spaceman98: Visorslash, Choxorn, Legato Endless, Winston
Snerk: Coyosis, Newyn
Newyn: Sprig
Coyosis: Backwards Logic
Winston Hughes: Spaceman98

Abstain: Autolycus, Snerk
Absent: Takhisis

Day Two ends: [TIMER=5/13/2015 11:00 PM GMT+1; Day Two over][/TIMER]

Indigo mask enables some sort of very limited scanner (It can tell which phase a persons ability is used.) and it takes a phase to switch masks from your own. There are some other curious effects of having an additional mask as well which are probably best to keep to ourselves for now on the off chance a Traitor did not receive one.

your clearly trying to pull something, and keep the rest of the thread in the dark about it.

There it is! :D

Now you're looking a bit more like a townie. Of course, you've only done this after I've told you how to look like a townie, so it's rather less demonstrative than if you'd done it before.

As for Visorslash, I'd agree that he looks reasonably townie. But I also know he's more than good enough to fake it. The best reasons I've got for thinking him innocent are a couple of minor errors he's made describing the game, which he *might* not have made as scum.

Was my vote for him serious? Only inasmuch as I wanted to see if anyone reacted to it. Originally, I coloured the whole lines for my item votes, which meant Visor's name was bolded. Given I was accusing all three of them of being 'clearly scum', I thought it apt to leave keep his name bolded when I decoloured the rest. The following post was just hanging a lampshade, drawing more attention to the incongruity of my item votes.

Now, you reacted as if you thought maybe I was being serious somehow. But, contrary to what you say above, you didn't pressure me at all. You asked a simple factual question with the least possible pressure - you didn't even ask me for reasons. As is the case with your response to Visor's accusation, it's low impact stuff that seems more like an attempt to look useful than an attempt to be useful.

That said, there's plenty of time left, and my vote's not locked. If you want to keep coming at me, we can dance the day out (I'll be offline for a while, but I'll be back well before the deadline), and if you're convincing enough then maybe you can pull your head out of the noose.

Obviously, I'd prefer if you went after someone who might actually be scum, but, if you really think I'm your best shot, bring it on. :ninja:

I asked a simple question, because your post struck me as odd. My initial assumption was that the vote was unintentional, and the post after it was a comment to the GM not to count the accidental pseudo-vote. Nonetheless, given the possibility that this assumption was wrong, and given how odd the post looked, I pushed a bit. You responded by voting for me and making a fairly extensive post about what I should do to act townie (rather clever really, since it preemptively makes any quality response I give appear scumy). In other words, you reacted, and reacted rather strongly to relatively light pressure.

Winston, your posts so far give me no reason to switch off you, but in the intrests of being comprehensive, and because I have some time now, I'll give my reads on everyone. Incidently, you accuse me of being unproductive, but out of the list of guests, most have said much less than me, and have made far less substantive contributions:

2. Visorslash: His game has been a lot like how he plays as town, though as I said earlier, he's not completely above suspcion. I'm also uncomfortable with how willing people have been to vote him the Sable Mask.

3. Backwards Logic: No read on him so far.

5. spaceman98: See above roleclaim

6. Autolycus: Voted self gilded mask, but abstained from voting. Not sure what's going on here. See also the entry on Coyosis, who also voted him the mask. Somewhat suspicious.

7. Sprig: The last surving King Morgan voter, and an important part of why King got lynched. His interaction with Newyn wrt the Sable mask was bizzare, and in some ways mirrors Winston and Visor, except that his explanation (a way to keep the mask out of the game) makes sense, while Winston's vote for Visor was totally futile. Not completely cleared, but likely town.

8. Snerk: Roleclaimed yesterday, and was the alternative lynch to King Morgan. The later fact makes him likely town.

9. Legato Endless: Not much of a read TBH. Snerk suggested him as a non-Visor bearer of the Sable mask, which I went with, since he didn't vote it to himself, while Visor did. He followed Visor and Chox fairly enthusiastically, but that's not a scumtell in itself. After all, I was compeltely wrong D1, so I can understand where he's comming from.

10. Choxorn: All he's done so far is OMGUS me, and post a one sentance response to me. Didn't even bother to vote for masks. His in-thread commentary has done nothing to make me less inclined to lynch him.

12. Winston Hughes: See above

13. Coyosis: Posted early today, voting for Snerk, and voting gilded mask to Auto. I explained earlier why both of these actions are questionable. Possible suspect, but I'll give her a bit more time to get into the game.

14. Takhisis: I honestly expect town Tak to post more. Like Choxorn, he hasn't voted for masks. He also hasn't voted for lynch, or posted. I'll chalk it up to RL for now though. After all, if he's absent long enough, he'll be WOGed.

16. Newyn: Odd interaction with sprig, has said nothing of note outside of that. Has been oddly enthusiastic to "trade" mask votes, and vote masks (speciffically the Dragon Mask) to himself. Suspect.

Out of this list, I'd be fine with lynching Newyn, Chox or Winston based on the existing informaton.

Ninjad by Visor's vote.

unvote: vote: Newyn looks like out of my three that's the one that's actually happening.

2. Visorslash: His game has been a lot like how he plays as town, though as I said earlier, he's not completely above suspcion. I'm also uncomfortable with how willing people have been to vote him the Sable Mask.

Believe me, I now know why!

Unvote; Vote Spaceman98

And wound healing is totally not scummy at all when scum are the ones that are most likely to get injured since they'll be doing most of the attacking.

Also, do any of you seriously believe I'd draw attention to myself like this by trying to trade for masks if I was scum?

I've always excelled at been as forgettable as possible so that I don't get targetted early, I'm not going to expose myself like this as scum after a scum buddy just died day 1.

Also, I'm the Priestess. I can heal injuries at night, as long as the injuries are not vile or mortal wounds. If anyone's injured, I can restore you to full health.
If space is a healer then he's either very useful or very dangerous. If anybody is getting healed by Space, DO go public with it so we can keep track if heals. Arakhor was scum healer not long ago and was left healing scum buddies with way to little attention on him. If Space isn't killed by mafia as a town healer, I'd say that something's fishy.

Meh, your usual arguments of I can't be scum because I don't have my scum-play pants on falls on it's own weight.

I think it's likely that at least one scum tried to save KM by jumping on the Snerk wagon d1:
Snerk: Takhisis, Winston, Autolycus, Spaceman98

Anyway, three-way tie please! vote: Coyosis. Flying really low, plus the mask votes seemed off.

My new mask: the Gilded mask can be broken at any point to discard a vote against you. Nifty.
