1512-1701 (An Odessy!)

I dont think so because there really wouldnt be much of a point. The only ones that will be able to are the ones which will engage in hand to hand combat. They will enslave to pirates/privateers.

Here are the European LH's I think should be used. I will later post one file for you to download for all the non-Firaxis LH's.

What does everyone think? Any questions or complaints? These are not written completely in stone, so feel free to suggest any improvemens.

As a note, currently there are no animated, 3D LH's of a pope for me to use...

OK, approval is voiced!

As to the Pope, we can just use a decent looking one of a guy in a robe. We dont have to actually have a Pope costume... that might be a bit much!

I am continuing to toss stuff into the editor, and I will try your idea for making MUnits Friday (loads of free time then... except for meeting a few people... and my parents are coming up... and homework... ahhhh!)

;p

Thanks so much for your help Olorin!

ok, here are who I think you should use for the other LH's.

A couple R8XFT is still working on, and the Vijaynagara has no pcx's. So I will try to do the pcx's...

Also hopefully today I will create a file that has all the LH's in it for you to dl.

Aww, I like the kitty that one dude is holding haha

Do we really have to screw him over with Golden Hordeness? ;p

I am feeling close to a breakthrough on Munits (thanks to some timely tutoring by CamJH) ... but my brain feels close to melting so nothing new to report on that front. The leaderheads are amazingly helpful! I just want to make sure you know I am seriously grateful for that!

Not much further on the Munits. I have gotten close to what I want storyboardwise, but instead of being animated its either a jiggling figure or not an animation. I will come back to it later, and work on finishing the biq.

BAH! BAH HUMBUG! I might have to beg for someone else to do this to, because I am clearly graphically incapacitated ;p

Uploaded biq number 6. Cities are done, etc. I will be placing resources for the rest of today (using my three atlases... you would think there would just be one with everything!).

Not sure how to edit the various pcx images for resources and units, but I am assuming that you just copypaste it in. Doesnt seem too hard... ;p

So check it out if you want, tell me if you see any glaring mistakes, etc.

AHHHHHH NOOO! Both of the American civs got whiped off the map because I am an IDIOT!!!

I will have to spend time fixing that mistake... BUT on the plus side, I figured out how to work in the custom resources I wanted, use C3MM (Steph RULES!) and make many little modifications to all sorts of things. Still no good news about MUnits or any other unit graphics... but those will just have to wait. I am NOT giving up on my formation idea, no matter what it takes.

So, other than a massive F-up, lots of progress today. Yay!

Barring any further attacks of stupidity, I should have the resources completely filled into the editor by 1AM ;p

Of course, considering how much I have been wandering about, its difficult to be sure.

GEEZUM CROW! Thats uhh... thats pretty big then!

Well, umm, bad news on my part. I am only most of the way through getting the goods into the biq (there were some significant distractions! you just dont say no to a blonde girl in a squash outfit ;p), but what I have is pretty much kosher for that. Thank the LORD that resources are easier than units... although the thank you section will be hard to dig up, considering that I am working from a compilation set.

I have some homework to do tomorrow, but I SHOULD have something actually worth showing you too. Mod folder will be posted (sans leaderheads... no reason to put you through that ;p) so that you can see what I see (haha).

OR as another option, PM me your email and I will just mass mail you it (again without the leaderheads).

Tes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes!!!!!

I figured out how to make MUnits from different types!!!!

The answer was staring me in my dumb face the whole time: palette switch!

Now if only I knew how to insta replace a specific color to another specific color... I know how to mass switch, but I need to know how to get rid of a million green dots and replace them with a million grey dots.

BUT HAPPY!

VERY HAPPY!

If this seems weird to you that I am this excited... well go jump in a hole! ;p

Oh, and how do you post a preview? I wanna post the default animation (the only one I have right now, but the others will be a breeze!) so i can show off my craptastic skills ;p

Seriously though, its SO COOL!

If it's small enough (under 500 Kb) , you can just attach the flic in the attachments area. If larger, then you can upload it.

BTW, I am uploading my stuff as I write...so I will have those LH's for you later tonight.

1) I cannot upload it because the site rejects flc files for some reason. Its much smaller than 500

2) I cant download it for some reason. It askes for a username and password and none of the ones I have tried work (and I have tried all the ones I have... which is a pretty limited number...)

It is most likely because this is in FTP format and my school has a firewall which is all angry about FTPs... although I have never had this problem downloading stuff before.

I am going to try a few more ideas on color replacing and see if I can get the image to look better.

Strategic Resources placed, as are roads.

Note to everyone: roads do NOT add commerce to tiles. I find that roads all over the map just looks ugly, so this is a way to prevent that. They are ONLY good for increasing unit movement and connecting landlocked cities into a trade network.

Irrigation is for Grassland and Plains
Mines are for Hills and Mountains
Nothing else can have these improvements.

I will upload my resource map, but I doubt you guys will be able to see most/any of them since I have used so many custom ones. Dont expect to see much geographical accurracy in their placement, (for instance, there is tobacco in New York) as they are primarily intended to shape territory development, not teach you where tobacco has historically been grown.

Having issues again with the MUnits, but I am going to have to wait till march to really figure them out. I am now having a problem with transparency with certain animations using SBB. The animations come out fine, but I cannot set them with his program as it sometimes refuses to display certain units.

This is really only a problem with the fortify animation, because I want the formation to look like a circle... wait a minute, I have an IDEA!

Somebody made a really cool worker that fortified to a wooden palisade. I am going to borrow that animation (after asking permission of course) and use it for all the formations. This makes more sense than having them stand in a circle, and allows me to pretend that they are setting up camp ;p

Plus, its a heckuva lot easier!

EDIT: Turns out it was Kinboat... anyone suprised? ;p

Here's the thread!

Found out you could require a civ to have an elite naval unit to build a wonder.

SOOO I made the Naval Academy require one instead of an army. That makes WAYYY more sense

Spent most of the day adding stuff and reading for my tests.

Just as an update, I will be putting links to really major stuff on the first post, as well as updating it frequently.

If you cant find something, check there.

It also has a comprehensive list of things to do on it, with strikeouts obviously implying finished tasks ;p
