You can. Most of the items here were made with either Photoshop, Bryce or both.
I have no secret or special skills or tools. I just like making things that look interesting to me.

Bryce is the cheapest 3d program out there, less then 100 (as cheap as 40).
Photoshop was alot of money, but it was a gift. It is cheaper if you are a student.
Then just play around.

Nice!!! I'll definitely use some of these! :goodjob:

By the way, the Techs - Part 1 link in the first post needs to be fixed. ;)

The link is fixed. Strange, because the text was correct. I just cut and pasted the exact same info in, and now it works.

Yeh like I have money! Anyways thanks for the tips, but for now I guess I got to stick to downloading.
Oh yes, Yuo said in A pm that Glim (GImp?) would work. I looked up there site, but couldn't figure out what to download.
If anyone knows please PM me with the answer, for I do not want to mess up this topic with all that.

Ther're all very nice, but how/where can i use them?
Welcome to the forum.
These graphics can all be added to the game. My graphics all include some installation instructions. But I was a bit brief. You might also consider looking at the tutorial sections.
Adding new stuff to the game is quite simple and fast... :p after you've done it for a while. The first few times are almost always a struggle. But it is worth it. You can improve and customize your game to your own exact tastes. You can extend it in all sorts of ways.
I would suggest backing up everything before you fiddle with it... that way if something goes wrong, you can always copy the files back.
Also downloading a MOD by someone who knows how to do it can be interesting. You can see how they did stuff and learn from it. Not to mention the fun of playing these mods.

Thanks, glad you liked it. I also included a 1280x1024 wallpaper which you may use to make your own with alternate lettering (or desktop). It might amuse you, but there are details which are not easily seen in the preview that are easier to pick up on in the wallpaper.

The image was entirely rendered in Bryce, with no post processessing needed. The toughest part to get to where I liked it was the ships wake.

I used dogmouse's template for the lettering. I thought he did a very nice job on it.

Wow! I would use it but it says conquests :( .Is there any hope of making one that just says Civ3?

Sure.

The link above has been updated and now points to a file containing both a C3C and a vanilla title screen.

I actually made it at the request of my wife.
I had made a couple of wallpapers for my sons..

Both are based in the same "work space". I suppose the 2nd one should have had the planet in the background. Maybe next time.
She aske when it was her turn, I asked her what she wanted. She said something with fish... Apparently my smile gave away what I was thinking, and she added "and no dead fish either". So I started to do just an underwater thing. I got bored and added a ship on the surface and one on the bottom.... and I decided to make it more "civ-like" and go to the top and feature the clipper as I had some ideas for the sunlight coming through the sails I wanted to try... and voila.
Not a masterpiece, but I like it. I use it for my own civ title screen.

I was thanking you also for the civ3 without conquests, maybe if I ever get it I can change it.
