NEScz - North American Natives

I know I didn't send orders but is it really plausible that my country did nothing, and wasted 6 EP on doing nothing?

@justokre
Not true! Mayaimi have improved their industry and trained one axemen band. (if you had 6 EPs...)
@Charles Li
Thanks!

Thanks!
Note everyone that you could make diplomacy movements just before you send your orders... (this rule is not applying on trade-agreements)!

Oh boy! A potential enemy to conquer and only 200 miles from me. This could not have come at a better time! :p

You must rejoin the Cheyenne tribe or face war.

OOC: Wow! you guys where once Cheyenne! Refugees from guantaminos is planing to nuke Washington D.C. if they don't become islam: =) not to insult you, no, just to say in tribal curcomsences... the escappes returning for revenge! If you can write good stories this will be a gold mine for confidence and culture!

@ cz, you got the orders tampered by my brother and not fixed? oh my...

OOC: Great update! So my settlement was successful. But I don't understand the slave part. Why did they pay them with slaves for contact with the Mistsukatanaiana?

Hmmm, i was wondering if i could research smoking this turn, like smoking fish to preserve it not like lighting up a cigarette and looking cool. would it take alot of ep? because IRL the Chinooks were masters at preserving fish because that's how they survived, off the salmon runs and preserving the fish until next year.

OOC: @SP they paid me 1 EP to get in contact with your nation. I said that 1 EP was worth 100 Slaves to be in character.

We would like to begin trading with your nation. Both of our nations would benefit if we allowed our people to sell and trade goods to each other.

Will Mitsukataniana allow Chuparunian merchants access to Mitsukatanianan markets?

To: Huron
From: Chuparu

Ranata Ren is pleased that your nation has not expanded accross the river. The Huron people are noble and trustworthy. Chuparu will expand trade into your region and hopefully this will be to the benefit of your people and to your nation.

Seems I only got 1/3 expansion.. could i not afford the others?

@Abaddon
Singodia has bad confidence. Also notice that when you were away a barbarian invasion came up to Singodia. Your expansion will turn normal now...

@bestshot9
I think that "Smoking" technology will cost 9 EPs, but if you could write nice story about this, then I could let you have it a bit cheaper for you :)

We won't join you, this is our land and you -- may stay at yours or you will face bad times! Killing your own people is not the way Cheyenne people want! This is the reason why we moved off. Think wisely great sir.

Story of our Creation:

Our Creation Myth

In the beginning of time, there were two gods who were brothers. Their names were Infinitus and Caelus. They lived in the heavens and after a while, Caelus grew jealous of Infinitus, claiming that he wielded more power than himself. "You definitely wield more power than I, Infinitus, for you sit on the throne of heaven while I bow at your filthy feet, doing what you command." Infinitus responded, "You know as well as I, Caelus, that I wield no more power than you do. I merely wish to keep peace between us so that the heavens aren't unsettled." "I challenge you, Infinitus, to a fight to the death. This will determine which of us is stronger and fit to rule!" Infinitus calmly responded, "Strength is not in fighting, but in creation. No blood need be shed. Let us see who has the ability to create a better planet."
Caelus agreed to this and hurriedly began to create his planets. Infinitus, knowing the impatience and temper his brother held, took pity on him. Infinitus carefully created his planet, putting his time and concentration into every little thing; the rocks and grass, the worms and beetles, even the veins in the leaves of the evergreen tree. He used brilliant colors; bright greens and dark reds. He did indeed have the makings of a truly magnificent world underway.
Caelus however, did not have Infinitus' care and grew impatient when creating. One thing took too much thought and time. He grew angry and destroyed his creations, then realizing he had to create them again, abandoning one world to go create another world. The abandoned world became the planet of Uranus. Seeing Inifinitus' world, Caelus' burning feeling to outshine Infinitus grew and developed a burning fire within him, creating contempt and hate for his brother. He would create a bigger world than Infinitus; its size should surely startle him, disrupting him from his work and discouraging him. Caelus fed off this idea and created a truly huge planet, Infinitus' planet did indeed seem extremely small next to Caelus'.
This, however, did not bother Infinitus, for he knew that size would not matter, but the material put onto that planet. Caelus was so pleased that his planet was so enormous, that he left most of the land barren, creating small plots of trees and water every 50 miles or so. When compared to Infinitus' planet, it paled, especially the colors used by Infinitus. His temper rose yet again, and he abandoned this planet as well, which later became Jupiter.
He moved on yet again, and grew tired and lazy. He created a very small planet so he wouldn't have to create too many things and he failed yet again. This planet became Pluto. Meanwhile, Infinitus was nearly done with his planet and it was truly beautiful. Caelus wasn't aware of this fact yet, and realized that as long as he had more planets than Infinitus, he would surely be more superior for power did indeed come in numbers.
So, he set out to create more planets. Venus was quite similar to Uranus, abandoned due to frustration, barren and lifeless. Caelus had created a ring around Saturn in an attempt to make it look better than it was. However, below the ring it was again, barren and lifeless. Saturn didn’t come out too badly, having been created with many magnificent colors. Caelus was quite angry now, but managed to keep it under control while creating Mars. He did create some volcanoes that erupted quite often, just as a way to let out the anger he couldn’t keep bottled up, but the land was as ugly as Uranus and Saturn. Infinitus realized that his brother had no interest in creating living things and even if he did have interest, he wouldn’t be able to create them right. He wouldn’t create them for their beauty and complexity, but for their ability to worship him.
Caelus let all his anger erupt when creating Mercury, for he could no longer keep it in. He created several volcanoes and made the air both hot and cold due to his anger and hatred towards his brother. The air would change abruptly, and at any given time, therefore leaving the land lifeless and barren once again. While creating Neptune, Caelus had cooled off and created quite a lovely planet, demonstrating his brilliant colors that were used in creating Saturn, except he repeatedly included no life. Caelus was done with his creating and went to see how Infinitus’ planet was coming along. He was highly confident that he would win this contest.
At the sight of Infinitus’ planet, Caelus was utterly amazed at what he saw. Beautiful greens flowed with the valleys as blues did with the rivers. The flowers were a variety of colors and the animals were simply stunning. Caelus hated himself for the amazement he felt when he saw Infinitus’ planet. He went to Pluto, and felt his feelings of depression and anger wash over him. He had lost. Bigger and more were not better. It was what was on the planet that mattered, what created the beauty. Caelus lost and he knew it. He couldn’t argue he won, for before the competition had started, each had placed a blue fire within them, letting the other know what the other felt about his planet and his brother’s. Infinitus knew that Caelus was jealous of his abilities. Caelus let the reality wash over him.
“I lost…,” he croaked, while crashing waves of sorrow, jealousy and anger hit against him as though throwing him against a sharp area of many rocks. Then he remembered Infinitus’ rocks, how beautiful they were. “No!” he cried, “No I must not think of that! I shall put myself out of my misery!” He erupted violently and turned into a cloud of cosmic gas. Now, every time there is a supernova, it’s Caelus advising his brother on improvements to the universe.
Caelus’ body turned into the essence of soul and light, which became the stars. Infinitus created humans to worship him and to forever remember Caelus. He taught them that when you rush through things, it always comes out worse than when you take your time, and not to be selfish but caring, that everyone can change, and become something beautiful.

From the Hurons
to the Great Chuparu

We promised that we shall not settle across that river, however, we found north of the Wilderia a land that still borders the Great Lake of Huron. We are Interested in settleing up north an although it is certainly 'past the river' so we must ask for you opinion if that counts or not.

As in other words Norte-Erye, on the land where your Trade travels from there across the Wilderian Forest, we are interersted to develope a trade route there, and if you can send a merchant to my capital I will send my own to you capital. Then Norte-Erye on your Route can be quickly and garanteed to be connected to your cities.

Other than that we are also interest with our new aqaintance. We are wondering if you can let our canoes past to trade with them and beyond.

In conclusion we asked for rights to settle on Norte-Huron, a trading of Merchants between our capitals and/or major cities and also crossing rights.

We of the Huron thanks you for any consideration and hopes that you can send us your word soon.

To: Mitsukataniana
From: the Hurons of the North:
We are interested in trading merchants between our capitals, however currently our tribe are out of Braves as many are traveling north and to Chuparu for work and trade. So we ask if you can send us an merchant to our cities and when more Braves are ready, they will return with 1 Ep (100 slaves or 200 tools) (since to started the route).

May our new friends stay friendly and strong!

Chuparu will allow your nation to settle to the North our only concern is expansion close to the colony of Chupan or any of Chuparu's other settlements. As long as there is some distance between your expansion and our settlements we will not attack your nation.

We will also allow your merchants to travel through Chuparu so that they may trade with Mitsukataniana and explore further in that direction.

It was a cold night as Jumping Fish sat in his home. It was cramped and the rain was coming down heavily. Jumping Fish had just brought a nice catch of trout home for his meal, but had no where to keep it, so he strung them up above his head, to keep dirt off of them, along the celing.

Since his little hut was so small, he had no choice but to keep the fish strung up across the opening of the smoke hole. He started a fire going, and took one fish down. He lay down as it cooked, exhausted from the day. The fish was finally ready and he began to eat it. It was wonderful, and it was a big one, too. He was feeling sleepy now, and as he finished the fish, he rolled over and went to sleep, forgetting about the rest of the fish still hanging above him.

When he awoke, the fire was still going, and smoke flooded out of the house. He looked up and, to his horror, saw the fish from last night still up there.

"It is ruined!" he thought, feeling sad that he had wasted precious meat. Smoke was surely bad for the meat and it was probably now inedible, but he was also very hungry.

As he looked up at the fish hanging above him, he realized they didn't look all that bad. He thought to himself, and then reached up and pulled one of the fish down. He sniffed it. It smelt like smoke, but it didn't smell stinky like rotting fish. He was now curious.

Jumping Fish put the trout in the embers of the fire to let it heat up. After a while he carefully pulled the fish out and cautiously took a bite. He was surprised. It didn't taste that bad, in fact, it tasted better then the fish he had eaten the night before. The smoke must have added flavor to it, and some how kept it fresh, too!

This was something that had to be shared with the rest of the tribe. He quickly grabbed the line of fish and took off to the Chief's hut. He was panting by the time he got there.

"Chief Comcomly!" he gasped, holding up the fish, "Please sir, try this fish. Something happened to it, the smoke from my fire mixed with it... it made it much better, and I think hardier, too!"

The chief was intrigued. He was curious, but also kind to this young man, and so consented. After the fish had sat in his fire for a while, he too tried the trout. He was very pleased with what it tasted like.

"Jumping Fish," he began, standing up in front of him, "this is one of the tastiest things I have ever tried. I want you to lead some of the other villagers in trying to find a way to perfect this method of flavoring fish. Good luck, young man."

And, with the Chief's blessings, Jumping Fish did just that.

OOC: Doesn't mean he discovered how to do perfect it in the first turn, mind you, that's what I'll be spending my research EP on, how he and the other tribal members were figuring out ways to make it better.
