fastest way to add multi tags in XML files?

Is there a really fast way to add new tags to the long XMLs. Like you want to add a new tag to buildings XML with out some auto aid you have to add them manually basically.

I found a free macro program called Autohotkey that saves me a lot of headache and I have started to use it for modding CivIV.. but I havent seen any options for doing this in my Visual Web Developer 2008.

I use the macro to auto search for the last tag, click, paste, then move on to the next last tag.. its sweet, but is there a faster way? A text editor that allowed you to replace more than one line at a time would work wonders.

There are a couple of Unix utilities/scripting languages that are perfect for such tasks, and Windows versions happen to be available.
