FfH2 Cosmetic Issues Thread

Some strange looking nightwatches. When I zoom out they become completely red.

Am I the only one who has a problem with the Lanun swordsman button? Looks like a girl or a doll.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Also, unrelated, the Illian Axeman and Berserker models are almost exactly identical. Only the axeman has grey skin as most illians do. It seems their berserker is just the default one that most civs have.

There's not really a need to make a unique one, even. Just give them the same model as the Doviello Skuld, perhaps. Because that seriously looks awesome, and they already share quite a few unit designs.

Undercouncil resolution "Setup a Gambling Ring" (set up should be two words, btw) says that it reduces the production cost of Gambling Houses by 75%. Cost before the resolution passed was 600 :hammers:, after resolution passed it was reduced to 300 :hammers: . . . which is only a 50% reduction. It should reduce the cost to 150 :hammers: or the event text should be changed to indicate the correct reduction.

Something else in the text file.

<Tag>TXT_KEY_HINT_47</Tag>

In both sentences, "Yersenia" should be "Yersinia."

In the first sentence, "Mary Morbius" should be "Mary Morbus." In the second sentence, "Mary Mobius" should be "Mary Morbus" and the word "and" before "alchemy lab" should be "an."

Actually, is Mary Morbus even in the game anymore? I don't think I've seen her in ages and I seem to remember her being removed at some point, although I may be wrong. If that's the case, then the hint can be rewritten much more simply: "Only Yersinia, a barbarian hero, can spread the plague."

I'm guess this is an oldie, but am I suppose to see that Keelyn is CoE. Okey, this is not the hardest thing to figure out anyway, but it would be fun if it wouldn't flash out like this.

PS
The symbol before her name is the thing I mean (I have played this game since 0.2? something and civ4 a ... of lot longer than that and I have never thought about that symbol before (that you can see religion there too).

PPS
Perhaps this is not suppose to be a secret? or is it the Undercouncil that is a secret? or both?

The religion and civics icons are usually in each leader's screen (at least in unmodded Civ4). I don't quite know how you haven't noticed this before.

Although looking at the scoreboard, the Council of Esus isn't listed beside Keelyn. That's interesting.

I should note that I haven't played FfH a lot, so I may not know a lot about things like this. :)

The Council of Esus is hidden in the scoreboard. It's a secret religion and it's supposed to be that way.

Showing in the diplomacy screen like that is an oversight, I think. But it does have gameplay implications .I'd suggest you post that in the bug thread, becaause it's deeper than a cosmetic issue.

It doesn't really matter. You get an event informer when they switch to CoE anyway. The secret is not-so-secret as it seems...

Started the Radiant Guard scenario and the "New player Intro" appeared on turn 4 during the game...

I suggest putting the New player intro to the civilopedia under a topic named "New player Introduction", and recomending to check it out in the read me file and the downloads section.

Running FoL with the Lanun, and get fluctuating city art. The buildings in the city will appear to be FoL-style buildings for a time, then they'll switch back to the Lanun style.

All spell sounds, etc, need to be Local (3D I guess) instead of global. Especially annoying in MP as it is now.

Yeah the sounds, summoning etc are a bit annoying and the log does get cluttered up with irrelevant stuff (making it hard to notice if heros are built yet etc).

Little thing, also a bit annoying and maybe can be fixed easily; I thought 'Nameless Tower' was silly name for a city, so I changed it to something else when it asked (upon found city). The annoying part was that it keeps suggesting the same name again and again until you call a city that. Stupid nameless tower - ended up calling a city that just so it would give me a different name for the next one. Be better if it was random, rather than just keep persisting with the next name in the list until a city somewhere gets called that, imho. Was patch q when that happened I believe.

Edit: Actually something else about the audio that I think could be improved is to get rid of, or change the noise you get when you have a city selected. I reckon is sucks how the music is replaced with the 'clop clop clop' horse walking noise and stuff. Would be much better imho if it just left the music on and made no changes or noises. Actually it's been bugging me enough I been considering finding the damn mp3 or whatever and deleting it - see if it goes away then. I know this is nit picking a bit, but perhaps if it bugs me it also bugs others too - just some feed back. Would make a really cool mod even cooler :)

Minor thing: the svartalfar ranger has a generic icon in the build queue, but a cool looking icon most of the time. i presume it's just an oversight.
