Would it be ok if i joined as byzan?

I wouldn't recommend it. Byzan is getting attacked by two countries that are fairly powerful.

PLEASE; If you are expanding, or going to war, draw me a map. It is quite hard to guestimate your expansion plans otherwise.

I'll make a map soon showing my movements if my description wasn't clear enough.

Byzan is fighting two sided war, war with Norwal(me) and Mesaqoo (Ninja Dude).

It also seems that only "free" nations are Byzan and Landar, both located in the corner of map...

Edit: orders sent.

Ganoth, one of the village’s many youths, wandered over to the elder’s hut, many questions flowing in his mind. Upon arriving, he found the door open, with a thick smell coming from inside. Ganoth went in and saw that the elder Lymin was burning incense. Ganoth quickly said, “I am sorry to bother you, Elder Lymin, but it just that I have many questions and yet no answers. Everyone else I have asked wasn’t able to answer them, but they did mention that you have the most knowledge in this area. I was hoping that you could help me.”

Elder Lymin grinned, saying, “Ah, it’s always the young ones that are really curious. But I am guessing you seek answers to questions that most don’t have at your age.”

“Hey, I am not that young!” indignantly replied Ganoth, eliciting a smile from Lymin. “But, yes I wish to know how we came to be here and why we are here.”

Lymin stared off into space for almost a minute, his expression showing a mind in deep thought. Finally he answered, “Yes, you ask of the gods. I have devoted a large part of my life to learning all I can of the gods. But let me start from the beginning.”

“In the beginning there were only vast energies that were unrestrained and endless. It isn’t yet known why, but from this void came the world which we live on and the six gods: Meac the God of Life, Srath the God of Death, Jounor the God of Fire, Farnor the God of Water, Azm the God of Earth, Polid the God of Air. Each had control over a specific of the chaotic energy, and as one might think upon hearing their domains, they used their powers to war with each other, with the Earth as their battleground. They ruled over opposite forces and so they didn’t understand each other. Just as we humans fear and fight that which we do not know, so did the gods.”

“Wait a minute, are the gods still fighting then or have they stopped?” interrupted Ganoth.

“I was getting to that,” said Lymin. Anyway, after thousands of years of fighting the Gods realized they really weren’t all that different from one another. They made peace and vowed instead to work together. The Gods decided to make beings on this world that could share in intelligence for up to that point they were the only intelligent forces in entire universe. Alone, they had only been able to create mindless servants, but together, and through several attempts, we humans were made. They were finally satisfied in their work; we were their prized possessions. They released us upon the earth, watching in awe as we developed.”

“But where did magic come from then?” interjected Ganoth. “Why is that only a few of us can use magic?”

“Unfortunately, not much is known about the subject about magic. I do not know why only some of us can use magic, and only then with intense training. I do know however, that the gods chose to give a small portion of their control of energy to us,” Lymin replied.

“Why did they do that?”

“Have you not been listening boy?” responded Lymin in a frustrated voice. “While I would not dare say I know the intentions of the Gods, and it they have let it be known to me that that see us as almost a farther would see his baby son. Hence the name Trollzkin. It means kin of the Gods.”

“I’m sorry.”

“No, forgive me, I got carried away. I am just frustrated that so few of our tribe realizes where we come from, how the earth formed, or anything for that matter. ” Lymin paused for a few seconds, then his face lit up, as if a grand idea had just come to him. “Ganoth, you seem quite enthralled by the subject. Would you help me spread this truth, this reality so that our whole tribe may someday believe in it?”

OOC: I haven't had a chance to look over it, so please tell me if there any errors or inconsistencies. I will try to get orders in soon.

Would it be ok if i joined as byzan?

Yep

could i also wait till after the next turn, to get a better view of whats going on?

Advisable

We are doomed. Byzan being non-NPC? :shudder:

You think I have not been guiding them well anyway? When I NPC a nation, I play it.. I simply don't leave it to rot

Byzan might not be in the best of conditions after this update by the looks of things.

Seems you guys like dog piling my NPC's
I'll take this as a hint you are growing scared of them. MuashahHAHA¬! :king:

It's more like oppurtunistic land grabs. In my opinion Byzan is probably going to be crippled. Of course, you'll probably make sure it survives and kills us just to prove us wrong. :p

*Casts hatred on Shaman and Cacique, they turn on each other. Their men scream at them to stop, but are unable to do anything but watch as they bludgen each other to Death*

[+Tribe fractured into 3-way civil war]

;)

Juuust as expected... Before that Norwal nation riots, goes into 3 faction civil war, this civil war spreads to other nations, who too will fight, only Nations that survives is Byzan.

After that Byzan develops super secret weapon and blow up entire isle, just to be sure that they won and noone survived.

If Byzan would be controlled by human(no-offense Abaddon), I'd probably give same orders:
Before war it was my 4 towns vs Byzan 7, it would have been logical move to eliminate me, as I cannot sustain such an army as Byzan can (they got higher "draft rank" too).

IM(h)O only opition is/was to try to get at least equal... For human player(counting out Abaddon due inhumanity - he has *godly* powers) I could have made perhaps Military alliance or similar, but I don't know how well I could have "tied" our nations, so I'd not get backstabbed...

i think i'll just wait till the end of the turn to choose

i like Byzan's hatred spell, but i still need to look into what the other npc tribes have

If you want, you could be the first player on a seperate island (location unknown in relation to this island)

Might be a bit isolated (i'll give you some NPC's to play with no worries ;)) until more players get in?

A group of men, walking in four columns of twenty and a single hooded man in front, arrived at the Norwol Border. They have marched straight from the Tera Totem. The men were packing food, supplies and tools with their weapons. The leader, as it seems, carried a staff with a bright, pulsing stone.

The Border Guard stopped them, "I must take count of you, since the Treaty of Tera asks for it." After counting, he, can't helping himself, asked, "If you can, sirs, tell me your business?"

The hooded man in front raised his head, "My business is the honor our treaty: Norwol might need aid for help in finishing off the menace of Byzan: Help came."

The Guardsman almost involenterally shuddered as he peered into the Shaman's eyes... they are deep, with a wide pupil and dark brown irises with purple high lights...

"You may pass..."

[**********]

After a many days, or weeks, they have arrived... As they crested a hill they saw a skirmish between Byzan and Norwol Forces: In this northern area, the Mesquito Shamans didn't arrive yet.

He watched as they retreated... he only has a minute charge of Mana to Channel a Totem's Power here, and he must save it...

The battle grew larger...

Suddenly, he saw another Shaman cast Hatred... But he and his men, hidden, weren't affected. However, some hundred or so Norwol Men started stabbing the brothers beside them. He saw his chance...

Muttering an Incantation, a ray of light pierced the way for a nano-second. Then, with his staff glowing, he slashed the air. An arc formed in the air and suddenly hundreds of Imps were summoned. Charging through the undergrowth they shoke away the dizziness and attacked behind the Byzan right at the Shaman...

"Attack!" he cried, leading his men into a charge.

@ Abaddon, I want to use my banked stuff instead to train a Shaman called Jelhid, the Spell is Basic Focus, which affects other spells, such as being summoned longer or more, affect more people or affect a larger area. One way is to instead of summoning 5 trolls for a few hours, I can use Focus to try to summon 1 Troll for a few days or weeks.

that'd be cool, if it isn't to much work on your part

Umm, Charles, did you help to fight Byzan or did you just attacked my men (did not get towards who your imps charged at, finished up my confused men or helped them?

If you helped me, then :bowdown::bowdown: and lets continue with :deadhorse:, if you attacked me then... well, my tribe will do this: :run:...

Only Thomas.berubeg has failed to send orders. Someone harass him please :p

EDIT: YAY, 500th post :)

EDIT:

Three men stood at the tent entrance. Tent was placed so, that the men standing in front of the opening were surrounded by the sunlight, making it almost impossible to recognize their faces. Despite sunlight, one could tell, that they were no common members of Norwal tribe. Man who stood between of the two others, had to be a shaman. Certainly a powerful shaman, as clothes that he wore, were very colorful and had even few feathers attached - more decorated clothing meant more powerful magic user.

Magic user whispered something to his companions, one of the companions whispered something back and pointed at the corner of the tent. Shaman stood few seconds, looking at the man who had whispered back, who seemed to have high place in village council, he then turned around and began investigate contents of the tent. His two companions stood silently at the entrance, just like they would be afraid of something or someone in the tent.

Tent was small, its owner was not "rich" by the standards of Norwal. It could fit 1 man standing and one, maybe two women sitting in the corners. In the center of tent, small fireplace was located, but this fireplace had not seen much use recently. It was too small too cook meal for bigger family, but big enough to warm slice of meat on the heated rocks. Between the fireplace and the entrance, there were two furs, big enough to sit on them. The furs were certainly not expensive, they were old, had several holes in them and not much fur was left on them.

Two "piles" of two, maybe three days old hay were in the corner, piled neatly - sign of a good wife. These piles were used as filling objects of mattresses - again a sign of poorness - most Norwal tribe members used more expensive and harder to find plants as mattresses filling. In furtherest side of the tent, right next to different tools(knives, round rocks, needles, bowls) young boy was sitting. He supported his head on his knees while with the hands, he was "hugging" his legs. His face was emotionless but his two, greenish eyes were watching weird visitors. His eyes did not reflect fear, they were shining out of curiosity.

Magic user, stared at the boy for several minutes and boy replied with same action, then Shaman turned his head, asked something from his two companions, one of them nodded as a reply to the question. After hearing the answer, shaman walked to the boy, knelt in front of him and began asking questions. What questions he asked, no-one could hear, but boy replied to the questions very calmly. Shaman talked with the boy for several hours, at first boy gave only short replies, but as time passed, more and more words came from the boy and he began talking with more and more enthusiasm.

Men at the door stood silently, their faces expressed tiredness but also confusion. It was not normal, that shaman conversation takes so much time, they expected that shaman quickly decides what to do. By the sunset, it still seemed that shaman had further questions to the boy. One of two companions decided to sit, but before he could do that, boy screamed something at the shaman. This behavior would have resulted in a very painful punishment, disrespect to the elder member of Norwal tribe, besides that disrespect of the authority and powerful magic user. One of the two men who was still standing took a step towards the boy, obviously to punish the boy for such an insult, but shaman moved his hand and the man froze, he tried to say something, but shaman moved his hand again. Shaman whispered something to the boy, boy looked at the shaman, he then turned his head towards the man who was standing in the middle of the tent.

Man, who was standing near fireplace, tried to a step back, towards the entrance, but shaman said two words: "Don't move". At the same time, boy closed his eyes and white fog appeared next to the standing council member. This fog pulled some dirt from the ground and ashes from the fireplace, it began making circles and it seemed to take a human form. Ash, Fog and the dirt seemed to mimic the way how man in the center of tent stood.

However, this foggy copy of elder did not have a face nor could you see any muscles or details on the body. Dirt was now visible inside of that fog, it looked just like ash would be the skin and the dirt would the bones, of this "humanoid" creature. Both men, stared at the creature made out of Dirt and ash, just like this thing, would be very dangerous to them. The shaman too, was looking at the creature, hes face was motionless, but his eyes revealed amazement.

Fog, that was circling around the creature started to disappear and "the dirt bones" started to fracture and fall on ground. Elder said something to the boy and the fog disappeared and dirt-ash mix fell back onto the ground. Boy seemed to be very tired from this, he was breathing very strongly, like he would have run 20 km, nonstop. Shaman gave some weird healing plant to boy, boy swallowed it.

Soon after swallowing this plant, his head fell on his knees and his eyes closed, breathing was still deep, but not chaotic. Shaman took his coat, but it on the boy, stood and left from the tent.

Words what he said to his companions were: Soon, when this war is over, I will begin training him. He has such power for his age, at my age he would be much stronger than I am, in time, he will take my place and follow what earth mother tells him. He shall honor our tribe and gods. I want your villagers treat him, just as he would be ordinary boy and tell him, that in two winters time, I will come and I shall be this orphans new father. I shall pass my knowledge to him, like it is tradition in our tribe. Now send word to your warriors, in two days time from now, I want them to be ready, we shall then join with other warriors, who should be at the Water Totem by then and move onwards to the Byzan land.
