EDIT: YAY, 500th post
EDIT:
Three men stood at the tent entrance. Tent was placed so, that the men standing in front of the opening were surrounded by the sunlight, making it almost impossible to recognize their faces. Despite sunlight, one could tell, that they were no common members of Norwal tribe. Man who stood between of the two others, had to be a shaman. Certainly a powerful shaman, as clothes that he wore, were very colorful and had even few feathers attached - more decorated clothing meant more powerful magic user.
Magic user whispered something to his companions, one of the companions whispered something back and pointed at the corner of the tent. Shaman stood few seconds, looking at the man who had whispered back, who seemed to have high place in village council, he then turned around and began investigate contents of the tent. His two companions stood silently at the entrance, just like they would be afraid of something or someone in the tent.
Tent was small, its owner was not "rich" by the standards of Norwal. It could fit 1 man standing and one, maybe two women sitting in the corners. In the center of tent, small fireplace was located, but this fireplace had not seen much use recently. It was too small too cook meal for bigger family, but big enough to warm slice of meat on the heated rocks. Between the fireplace and the entrance, there were two furs, big enough to sit on them. The furs were certainly not expensive, they were old, had several holes in them and not much fur was left on them.
Two "piles" of two, maybe three days old hay were in the corner, piled neatly - sign of a good wife. These piles were used as filling objects of mattresses - again a sign of poorness - most Norwal tribe members used more expensive and harder to find plants as mattresses filling. In furtherest side of the tent, right next to different tools(knives, round rocks, needles, bowls) young boy was sitting. He supported his head on his knees while with the hands, he was "hugging" his legs. His face was emotionless but his two, greenish eyes were watching weird visitors. His eyes did not reflect fear, they were shining out of curiosity.
Magic user, stared at the boy for several minutes and boy replied with same action, then Shaman turned his head, asked something from his two companions, one of them nodded as a reply to the question. After hearing the answer, shaman walked to the boy, knelt in front of him and began asking questions. What questions he asked, no-one could hear, but boy replied to the questions very calmly. Shaman talked with the boy for several hours, at first boy gave only short replies, but as time passed, more and more words came from the boy and he began talking with more and more enthusiasm.
Men at the door stood silently, their faces expressed tiredness but also confusion. It was not normal, that shaman conversation takes so much time, they expected that shaman quickly decides what to do. By the sunset, it still seemed that shaman had further questions to the boy. One of two companions decided to sit, but before he could do that, boy screamed something at the shaman. This behavior would have resulted in a very painful punishment, disrespect to the elder member of Norwal tribe, besides that disrespect of the authority and powerful magic user. One of the two men who was still standing took a step towards the boy, obviously to punish the boy for such an insult, but shaman moved his hand and the man froze, he tried to say something, but shaman moved his hand again. Shaman whispered something to the boy, boy looked at the shaman, he then turned his head towards the man who was standing in the middle of the tent.
Man, who was standing near fireplace, tried to a step back, towards the entrance, but shaman said two words: "Don't move". At the same time, boy closed his eyes and white fog appeared next to the standing council member. This fog pulled some dirt from the ground and ashes from the fireplace, it began making circles and it seemed to take a human form. Ash, Fog and the dirt seemed to mimic the way how man in the center of tent stood.
However, this foggy copy of elder did not have a face nor could you see any muscles or details on the body. Dirt was now visible inside of that fog, it looked just like ash would be the skin and the dirt would the bones, of this "humanoid" creature. Both men, stared at the creature made out of Dirt and ash, just like this thing, would be very dangerous to them. The shaman too, was looking at the creature, hes face was motionless, but his eyes revealed amazement.
Fog, that was circling around the creature started to disappear and "the dirt bones" started to fracture and fall on ground. Elder said something to the boy and the fog disappeared and dirt-ash mix fell back onto the ground. Boy seemed to be very tired from this, he was breathing very strongly, like he would have run 20 km, nonstop. Shaman gave some weird healing plant to boy, boy swallowed it.
Soon after swallowing this plant, his head fell on his knees and his eyes closed, breathing was still deep, but not chaotic. Shaman took his coat, but it on the boy, stood and left from the tent.
Words what he said to his companions were: Soon, when this war is over, I will begin training him. He has such power for his age, at my age he would be much stronger than I am, in time, he will take my place and follow what earth mother tells him. He shall honor our tribe and gods. I want your villagers treat him, just as he would be ordinary boy and tell him, that in two winters time, I will come and I shall be this orphans new father. I shall pass my knowledge to him, like it is tradition in our tribe. Now send word to your warriors, in two days time from now, I want them to be ready, we shall then join with other warriors, who should be at the Water Totem by then and move onwards to the Byzan land.
