Comrade Chairman. Soviet Expansion and Important matters of State
Welcome back Comrades. A good segment here with some decisions to be made on how best to have the Soviet people serve us, I mean searve the Soviet People.
We start by following the advice of the masses and established the city of Petrograd
Yes, the more I see the less I like this Arabian Greek. I tell you my friends he is NOT to be trusted and he rudely expands into the Soviet sphere of influence. I agree, we must secure the copper and gold!
Along the way we meet one of those disillustioned religious maniacs, Pacal the Mayan from China.
Sigh, I know Comrades, such a waste. But we must let them be to their own ways, at least for now. He did appear to come from past the Arabian Greeks lands though.
Now here is a look at Moscow.
Ah, nice production and the ability to run two superior Soviet Scientists. This di not last long as you will see however this is the blueprint for this great city for now. We are also following the strategy of running either 100% or 100% beakers at a time to help Soviet Research!
But I am forgetting, forgive me. We must review of technologial advance policy this segment

We opened borders with all as soon as we got sailing, amazing how much trade the Soviets can get with proper sailing vessles!
And with Open borders we looked in on this Greek Arab
As expected city #2 sits upon a hill but the capital is on flat land with horses right there. I tell you friends this Greek Arab is up tp no good, and the Soviet people must have those horses!
Here you can see we started another city, Navrograd (OK people, I need a list of proper Soviet cities as the computer keep giving me ST. Pete as the next option).
You cna also see the decimated lands of Petrograd from the barbarians. We had a farm and gold mine which was pillaged. The Soviet people in Moscow became unhappy without the gold, forcing me to chastise them. We Soviets are strong and determined, a little hardhsip will strengthen their backs and harden their spirit!
Rostov was settled next
Not soo grand but some farms and mine but alot of options for later watermills! Also close to silk as Soviet people will certainly need happiness resources.
And as we acquired more defensive archers, we sent the old Soviet warriors out to explore
And we come across a Mayan Missionary! The Missionary claims to be a Judaist Missionary and we leave him in peace although shaking our heads at such a lost people. We soon found a Christian and Confiscian Missionary coming out of China. I mean Comrade Soviets, cannot this Mayan Chinese PAcal make up his mind which false religion to delude his people with?
Ah, but we are now at a decision point.
As a results of much Soviet wotk, our first Great Scientist, Merit Ptah, has arisen
So we saved here looking for more advice from the masses. But oh, one more thing to discuss, what should we do with these fine Soviet volunteers.

Here are few Russian city names to choose:Smolensk, Kursk, Yaroslav, Murmansk, Petrozavodsk, Artkchangelsk, Volgograd, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Samara.
You should also build a prison city somewhere on the southern tundra and name it Gulag. You could sent all your wanna-be merchants there

I make honorable pledge that all Soviet cities shall have Soviet Academy of Sciences! After all we are of the Russian empire and the UB supplies 2 free scientists!
On the question, I think I like that idea! Perhaps all Great Scientists should build academies, one in every city we have. We are Philosophical and it should be somewhat attainable. Maybe not the bext game strategy but sounds like a good RPC angle.

Yeah, I'd like to see how it goes with all those academies. I sometimes wonder if that's efficient, but never did it myself.

I'm not sure Lenin would want academies everywhere; he's a reasonably practical guy, isn't he? But academies in everything with decent

I would think Comrade Lenin would be practical enough to at least build his Soviet Academy of Sciences in the cities where scientists have already taken up a permanent residence.
He doesn't seem like an "If you build it, they will come" kind of guy.

I got a good chuckle with the academies idea. I like it, though agree that you should choose to put them in the best cities. Also, don't discount the 4
they produce. Especially in Petrograd that would be useful for boxing out El Alex of Arabia.
P.s. - Not sure why you put Petrograd in that spot. I mean I guess you can farm the grass by the lake, but you could have settled 1E to get the plains cows or (as I would have dot-mapped it) 2 south to get wheat along with copper & gold. There is a culture fight for the wheat, but I think you were there first and Alex is usually building units, not monasteries.

Comrade Chairman: The First Greek Arab War
Ah comrades, good good you have returned. There is much we have to discuss regarding the Soviet Empire.
But first, what to do with Comrade Ptah. Some say settle him. I say Nyet, this is a stupid decision as the people will look up to one man with repsect and awe??? I tell you all this is not of the proper Soviet mindset, we shall establish a grand Academy where all may come and learn the proper technolgy for Soviet Union.
Now nice Native American Lady come and visit myself asking for diplomatic help.
Do not underestimate your Chairman, he is a man of the people, but he is also a MAN if you catch my drift. We accept the lady's request and cancel open borders with the stupid Greek Arabs.
It also helps that noble Soviet army is just on the border
We do call and politely declare war, we Soviets see what we need and act!

After harsh negotiations, Corade William has learned his proper place and now advises new unit show to fight in proper Soviet fashion rather than go into battle to earn further glory (and power!).
While the Greek Arab war contiued we researched only 2 technologies, Currency and Code of Laws, but important technologies they are!
We also find these captured Arab lands know how to help the state.
Ah, they build a pastureery fast, we like! I should mention that We built a Monument to myself in all cities, whether we had culture from a religion or not! Out of principal we accept NO help from any religion, just to set record stright.
Now once nice lady got alphabet we made a proper trade.
This Egyptian Native American Lady is very smart!
And after iron working we see

We consider keeping a monopoly on Currency but somehow this does not seam the Soviet thing to do, so
