Varietas Delectat for Rhye's and Fall

I have problem each time I load RFC and VD with it, I get an Error message saying that it can't load the VD_CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml.

Hi, fantastic work, makes RFC even better. :)
One question though: How can I make it use for RFC RAND: it has a unique mod folder. Just installing like for the normal RFC or do I have to make any changes?

I remember that it worked for me but didn't for some people, can't remember the details.

I don't have my main computer with me now, so debugging is kinda tough.

It seems that the crush is caused by the Incan style and some American issues. The fixes for the main VD are here, someone may do the same with my files.

I'm still thinking that this mod is excellent, but i think that a lot of people don't install it because of the complexity of the processus.
There is almost 5 files to changes in the principal download(global type ect...), this is too much. Is it not possible to compress the principal download and all the others little files in one download only? Or compress only the little files in one download with a readme who explain the installation, so it will stay only the principal file and the corrective, so only 2 files to download.

Ah and there is still the babilonian and natives problem who get weird cities with all civilizations buildings, even after the correctives installation.

Wow this is great! I just saw that this was updated awhile ago and I have to say it is looking good, except for one huge problem, Babylon. For some reason they start off with a native american looking city (maybe that's normal, I don't know) but then it gets really screwed up in the later eras where buildings from India, China, everywhere start showing up and other buildings have no textures, just blackness and then there are buildings completely messed up with textures from all over the place mixed up. Did I do something wrong with the installation?

Babylon has multiple entries in the two (RFC and VD for RFC) civilizations XML files, I think. It is called "Babylon" in one and "Babylonia" in another. This probably causes problems.

Well if you could come up with a solution to it, that would be awesome:), since Lonewolf hasn't faced up to this huge error yet!

I'm having this same problem also. I installed this mod mod before with no prob. but when you rezipped it and updated the first post I downloaded that. It says there's an error when I try to start the mod. It says the end tag 'FreeTechs' does not match the start tag 'CivilizationInfo' line 2409, 6
C:\Program Files (x86)\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Rhye's and Fall of Civilization\Assets\Modules\Varietas Delectat\XML\UnitArtStyles&CivInfos\VD_CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml

EDIT: WOW I'm a ******. Anyone looking at this and has this problem look at the first post, step 5, sometimes you overlook the things that are right in front of you.

I don't understand the part about fixing the buildings at all. I can't figure out step 3 onwards. A screenshot would be very helpful. or maybe somebody that has it working correctly could upload their Rhye's and Fall of Civilization folder? Please? :)

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out, in one of the posts though Onedreamer says to overwrite the global types file, which is kind of misleading. There should probably be a note on the first post stating that all issues/missing data has been accounted for and that the first post is 100% correct and up to date. I hope anybody trying to install this mod reads my post, just follow the directions on the first post, word for word. :D

I still don't have my computer returned yet, the guy who's supposed to repair the RAM constantly finds excuses for prolonging the thing.

Once the whole building issue is resolved, can you reupload a download site for it, so we can have a clean install. Thanks :)

The first post is last edited Nov 11 2009, my replies are more than one year older. I can't figure out how anyone would think to follow advices more than one year older and that obviously refer to a previous version, or why would anyone choose not to follow the guide step by step in the first post of a mod thread.
PS: I actually read the updated first post and it still works the same, you have to overwrite the global type file (step 4), what are you finding misleading then ? O.o

VDCivilizationInfo still contains bugs, the worse of which being no starting techs for starting civs. I'm surprised none reported this since it's a much worse bug than the cosmetic ones of course. I fixed this file which along with the subjugation civic not active at start for some civs, also means no more choice of fake Babylonians, Byzantines etc.

The following bugs have been fixed as well (note: number 2 and 4 are long dating VD bugs, Lone Wolf is not responsible for them :crazyeye: ):

1. The buildings in Babylon has textures from all sorts of cultures!
2. The Maceman (which should be called "heavy" swordsman) has the unit card of an archer.
3. For the Persians, if I were you I would change the Immortal unit card to the picture of the immortal (like in normal RFC) instead of having a chariot picture represent the immortal, because then it get confusing with regular chariots.
4. Same with the Riflemen, they have the unit card of a musketman

Please report if you find more of these bugs, I haven't tested much. Be more specific though, I wasted a lot of time checking all Riflemen and Macemen for each Civ while they were only bugged for Persia and Germany respectively (at least, that I found of).

All files are in a single archive to extract in Rhye's Mod folder (be it RFC or RAND). Overwrite when prompted.

Brand new installation procedure now is as follows:
1- Download and uncompress the main archive in your Rhye's Mod folder (RFC or RAND).
2- Edit the .ini file in your Rhye's Mod folder to allow modular loading.
(ModularLoading = 1 )
3- Download and uncompress the bugfix archive attached to this post in your Rhye's Mod folder. Overwrite when prompted.

In case you want to play with the Sphinx modmod you also need to modify a VD file. I attached the archive with the modmod and the updated file included, as usual uncompress it in Rhye's mod folder (RFC or RAND).
