You might wanna adjust your population...

Even French Guiana, Suriname, and Guyana together only have around 2 million people, and that's assuming enormous growth.

If those nations could support 24 million, chances are they already would have something close to that.

Other than that, seems fine.

But don't expect your economy, no matter how advanced, to be on par with Germany, Japan, or otherwise. An advanced economy only will take you so far; you need a resource/manufacturing base to become truly powerful, or else technology means nothing.

At only around 10% of the budget, that's modest.

Most money is gobbled up by investments such as research and infrastructure projects. Our society has become more liberal over time, but we are still a "hand up, not a hand out" society, meaning that we prefer to create jobs rather than just give money.

well, we did have massive almost free immigration for close to 20 years. and we built a lot of infrastructure as well. only 2 million people are natives. 22 million are foreign born.

originally i wanted to make it 67 million (145 people per square kilometer) but i lowered it to 34 million, then finally 24 million.

We support Vermont but not militarily only peacefuly.

For convenience, we are considering Vermont part of the NEA when they are in our territory; this is to avoid de facto recognition.

However, if the NEA attacks us, we will recognise Vermont immediately.

the growth has stopped there. it may still grow with time though. at a much slower pace.
