Blackened Skies

oh yeah I sent orders earlier. Also sorry I was late too :<

Prussian orders sent.

Who needs sleep when you can have tax-funded flying schools for the socialist youth, right?

All right, crew! Nuke and I have begun working on the update in earnest. We'll keep you guys posted.

Crezth - I have a game mechanics question. Does the Base Cost parameter affect the cost of raising divisions/air wings/ships?

Yes. Its a multiplier

Black-North coalition declares victory, implements far reaching policies
London, United Kingdom

In what was a crucial election for the United Kingdom, the coalition of Tom Black and Oliver North fought and won in a fierce campaign. While Burke’s Popular Front was enthusiastic in its attacks against the Fascists, it failed to strike a tone with more moderate voters, many of whom ended up supporting an otherwise listless Conservative Party. In the end, the Black-North coalition won 59% of seats, and Tom Black succesfully took the office of Prime Minister and immediately began implementing key Fascist policies.

In a controversial move, Prime Minister Black has sought to protect himself from any insurgency in the House of Commons by instituting a veto, to be held by the monarch, of any actions the House of Commons might take. Furthermore, many of the previous powers granted by the Parliament Act of 1910 have instead been devolved to the Prime Minister. Additional powers that were granted to regional governors have been rolled back, giving Black direct control over British Africa and other colonies. As of now, the dominions remain unaffected.

While the political changes have been significant, the more noticeable effect has been the establishment of the “Security and Secrets Service” or SSS as it is commonly called, recruited from returning Black and Tan veterans from Ireland. Theoretically supplementing the regular British police, the SSS is formally charged with assisting in policing duties and to help sniff out foreign intelligence. However the reality seems to have unleashed a reign of terror, particularly in working class neighborhoods. Reports of random disappearances, vandalism, and intimidation have been more or less suppressed, and in particular, socialist and other liberal pubs have gone up in smoke. A particularly noteworthy arrest saw Oxford students arrested for distributing anti-Fascist literature, an arrest that the university protested vigorously.

Even more significantly has been the street fighting between the Socialist and Fascist groups, and now even the SSS is intervening. A particularly brutal fight saw 120 arrested in Manchester, and follow up efforts saw Edmund Burke, leader of the opposition, arrested while on his way to Parliament due to connection with the uptick in street fighting. His deputy, Henry Taylor, has fled to France where he has actively denounced the “illegal and unjust arrests”.

Despite all of this, the upper echelon of British “old money” society still supports North’s party in the coalition, though use of private guards has increased as needed. Other first time Fascist voters have become increasingly nervous, and some are worried that the changes Black is instituting may not easily be undone. Others though are comforted by the fact that Her Majesty the Queen has given her support to the new government, which has lent some popular support to the new government.

Irish, others, arrive in France and apply for asylum
Calais, France

With the rise of the British Fascist party, the English channel has seen a trickle of migrants headed towards France. Though the French government has been seen as hostile to the Catholic church, many Irish Catholics fear for their lives now that Black is Prime Minister. The French government has actively encouraged the Irish migrants, and have begun to resettle some of them. Along with the Irish migrants, socialist English and Scottish asylum seekers have also come to France, and many are hoping to be resettled as well. For now, the French government has been able to provide for the migrants, though has not yet given word on whether or not they can stay.

Netherlands begins damming project
Amsterdam, The Netherlands

The Dutch government has announced an ambitious and wide reaching program to implement a series of dams on the Zuiderzee in an effort to reclaim land. Dutch engineering and construction firms have begun working on the dams, though so far only some of the smaller dikes have been completed. The project has been lauded for the increase of jobs it has provided Dutch workers, not just in construction but also in the steel and concrete factories. However, a team of engineers have proposed that the current dam project would be much more profitable and significant, though also more expensive, if the dams were hydroelectric. The projected output for the hydroelectric dams would be significant, though some argue that the cost would force the government to dedicate its entire attention to this project for years.

Steelbahn versus Volksbus: The future of German infrastructure

Munich, Bavaria

Despite the calls for the German states to come closer after the Frankfurt summit, it seems that the German states are increasingly diverging, with infrastructure becoming the latest battle between the two. Transportation, while significantly repaired compared to the end of the Civil War, can be disconnected and make travel between cities and smaller towns difficult, not to mention travel to one of the other German republics. Two competing infrastructure proposals have gained traction in Germany; the Steelbahn and the Volksbus. The Steelbahn has been championed by the Bavarians, who have already begun work repairing the existing lines within Bavaria. The proposal also seemed to gain traction in the GFA, who is also looking at routes within its territory. The major benefits for the Steelbahn argument is that most of the existing infrastructure connecting the major cities is there, just in disrepair. However, the Ruhr has decided to go another route, with its new engineering universities creating prototypes for large scale autos capable of transporting a large number of people. The initial prototypes are loud and prone to breakdowns, but the idea of having a much more flexible route not tied to train lines is very appealing, and it would be much easier to access smaller towns not on a main train line. However, for the Volksbus to be successful, a major road network would need to be created, something that would be of a significant cost.

Prince William of the Netherlands, Danish Royal Family, arrive in Britain for party, rally
London, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland

For the birthday of the young heiress to the British throne, Queen Marie invited both the royal house of Denmark and the Dutch prince in exile to London. Along with the party, the royals made some appearances at parades, nominally pro royal but clearly organized by the Fascists. The reaction has been somewhat mixed though. In Denmark, while the ideals of pseudo fascist thinkers are gaining traction in the populace, the aristocrats are more in favor of the status quo. For the Dutch prince William though, his lack of actual standing in the Netherlands has made him more open to anything that might restore him to his throne.

Military rule at an end in Germany
Berlin, Germany

As the new decade begins, the last vestiges of active military rule in Germany has ended. The Collectivist Republic of the Ruhr and the German Federal Alliance have both formalized a transition of power from a military to civilian government. The move is slightly less popular among the cabal of former Imperial officers in the GFA, but in both systems, many posts are held by veterans of both armies. A particular example showing that the military is still a force to be reckoned with is the Security Police that is staffed heavily with military officers. Already in both the GFA and the Ruhr, they have showed their teeth in political dissent crackdowns.

A Collectivist split?
Essen, The Ruhr

The Collectivist Republic of the Ruhr has long stood out as perhaps the most “radical” of the various socialist republics, eschewing democratic elections, opposing syndicalism, and advocating violent expansion of revolution. However, until recently, the Ruhr has seemingly stood with the other socialist states in the International led by France. Now though, the Ruhr seems to have forged its own path with “The International Red Collective”, called “The Collective” for short. Almost immediately, what had been planned as a secret conference became widely known due to the variety of invitations being sent. In spite of this leek, he Ruhr security police were thorough in ensuring only those with the proper credentials were able to attend the conference, which seems to have been quite packed, though Ruhr officials continue to deny the conference has even happened. After the conference, an uptick of new Collectivist parties have been organized in various countries, and while they are well-ran, they are lacking in membership. Collectivist parties are still in the minority in socialist countries, most of said countries choosing to follow the French model.

German-Russian trade deal stuns!
Warsaw, Russia

In a shocking report detailed by Bavarian papers, it was revealed that the GFA and Russia are engaged in trade! The allegations were confirmed when photos were published of GFA and Russian border exchanges of goods being exchanged into each other's countries. The GFA continues to deny the allegations, and the GFA state security apparatus has imprisoned several “Bavarian saboteurs”. While the story has not seen the light in newspapers in the GFA, it has become news in both the Ruhr and Bavaria.

Hungarian generals issue white paper “Quality over Quantity”
Budapest, Hungary

Hungarian generals have issued a white paper calling upon the necessity of “quality over quantity’ for the coming generation of Hungarian warfare. The Hungarian generals have opted that to ensure that Hungary can stand toe to toe with other major militaries, a significant amount of government attention and spending must be directed to improving the army and air force. The white paper indicated that an increase in training exercises, longer training and service periods for soldiers, and the purchase of better equipment would all go a long way in improving the capabilities of the military. While the government has yet to budget for these improvements, the report has been cited as an excellent piece of military research and many nobles are hoping the reforms can start in 1932.

Turkey invades and occupies Bulgaria; Bulgarian government driven into exile
Sofia, Bulgaria

The Balkan region was thrown head-first into the throes of a new crisis as the Sublime State of Turkey, without any warning, launched a full-scale invasion of the Bulgarian nation in the late weeks of August. The Bulgar army was caught completely off-guard by the attack, and efforts to regroup in the wake of the Sublime State’s devastating first strike were met with utter failure as Turkish armor cut a swath deep into the Bulgarian heartland. The invasion took only a matter of days, with most Bulgar units deserting or fleeing into the countryside.

The result was an absolute coup: the final defense at Sofia ended in surrender as over 5,000 Bulgarian soldiers were captured by the invading forces, spelling the end of the Bulgarian army and very shortly afterwards the end of the Bulgarian government. With the exception of the Bulgarian royals, who have been interned by the Turks in a government prison, the entirety of the national government and all military leaders above the rank of Captain have been put to death by firing squad on the orders of the Turkish military authority. The brutality of the occupation has been spectacular, and by late December, a series of bombings against Turkish military checkpoints indicated the beginning of a true resistance effort. The situation is deteriorating rapidly for the average Bulgarian.

With no official declaration of intentions, the action has been declared “roguish” by several top political commentators. The Russian army has been on high alert since the invasion and the Black Sea is teeming with several close encounters between Russian and Turkish interests. The Russian Orthodox church, while not officially condemning the invasion without the Tsar’s permission, has spoken criticism of Turkish conquerors returning to Christian lands. Italy and Serbia, two nations with close ties to Bulgaria, have been thrown into an uproar, with several demonstrations already taking place in Rome demanding for a “new crusade.” Perhaps Bulgaria is only a short-lived gain for the Sublime State, but for the time being they reap the rewards of an undisputed conquest.

Casualties- Turkey: 721; Bulgaria: 1423
[Turkey loses 1 Reserve Division. Bulgaria loses 1 Reserve Division and is fully occupied. 5,000 Bulgarian soldiers captured by Turkish forces, remaining forces flee to countryside - possibly, say some, to join the growing resistance against the Turkish occupation.]

Italian irredentist campaign gets new target
Rome, Italy

At the outset of the year, the Italian press made a targeted appeal to nationalists about Italy’s “natural right” to the Adriatic Coastline. While the initial campaign seemed promising, the news of the conquest of Bulgaria by rival Turkey has redirected the public’s fury. Many are demanding that Italy goes to fight the Turks once more, and the calls for the Adriatic have more or less fallen upon deaf ears.

Controversial Illyrianisation program underway in Serbia!
Belgrade, Serbia

In an interesting development from the Balkans, the Kingdom of Serbia has launched a new Illyrianisation program, attempting to tie the various ethnic groups of the Kingdom together. In calmer times, this might provoke a stronger reaction, but with the Turks at the gates of Serbia, there is a sense of unity among the people of the Kingdom in face of this threat. Only time will tell though if this program can lead to the long term unity that the Kingdom desires though.

Spanish reforms shake nation!
Madrid, Spain

The Spanish Republic, not content to die quietly, has embarked on some ambitious reforms even in the face of parliamentary discord. With some hand wringing and arm twisting, the Spanish government was able to pass a wide reaching land reform bill. While resistance was expected, much of the aristocracy was willing to take the offer of compensation to repair their battered finances. The social reform bill that was passed with the Socialists, over the objections of both Conservatives and hardliners within the Socialists, though it has not yet fully taken effect. Many are expecting it to be an expensive undertaking, though workers argue that the reforms are necessary.

The military, long seen as antagonistic towards the Republic, was also given a shake up. The Republic has reoriented its doctrinal focus on policing the state. The new style of Spanish military policing got its first test in Barcelona, and while the strike breaking got bloody at times, it was successful. There has been grumbling though about this new force, ranging from how it makes Spain seem weak compared to its neighbors, to how it will become easier to suppress those with opposition to the state.

Russian royal marriage harbinger of events to come?
St. Petersburg, Russia

Many Russian nobles and German expatriates lifted glasses to the new marriage of Prince Peter, heir to the Russian throne, and Princess Wilhelmina, daughter of the former Kaiser. Prince Peter had attempted to woo some expatriates and met with limited success. While some would support a return of the monarchy even under Russia, others are still wary or prefer a republic. One notable absence was Prince Wilhelm, who many consider the rightful heir to the German throne. Wilhelm has taken up residence in London, where he hopes to find sympathetic ears to his own plight. Still though, the nobles assembled in St. Petersburg consider Russia the only nation capable of returning the natural order to Germany, and are willing to support Wilhelmina and Peter if that is what it takes.

Asia

Persia establishes control over Straits of Hormuz
Abu Dhabi, Persia

Persia turned heads in May when it announced its intentions to annex the states of Abu Dhabi and Oman, a promise it made good on when Persian forces occupied Abu Dhabi without meeting much resistance. The news was met with much celebration back home, but much begruding throughout the Arab peninsula and Turkish Arabia. Persian authorities moved quickly to establish control over shipping in the Straits of Hormuz, a control that is tenuously established by a pair of new warships which constitute the entirety of the Persian navy.

With Abu Dhabi under control, the Persian army wasted no time in arranging the occupation of Oman as well, an occupation that has met with considerably more resistance. Although Persia has announced Oman’s annexation, many Omani resent the occupation and, outside of the ports and cities, Persian authorities find it very difficult to control the Omani people.

[Casualties - Persia: 692; Oman: 314. Abu Dhabi and Oman occupied by Persia and Omani army disbanded wholly. Persia enforces annexation on them.]

Turks grumbling in Central Asia

Verniy, Russia

Perhaps inspired by the rise of a Turkish nation and its recent victory over Bulgaria, Russia’s Turkish minority has been grumbling more than usual as of late. Pro Turkish independence posters have been seen around town from time to time, and there are reports of minor fist fights between Turkish and Russian youths. So far, the local governor has seen no need to act drastically in fear of inciting moderates against the Empire, but has sent the report to St. Petersburg to his superiors.

Chinese Ceasefire ends: Republican forces attack the Qing!

The Chinese civil war has kicked back into full gear as of this year, as the Republicans walked away from negotiations and declared their intentions to take Beijing once and for all. The Republican army, much larger and better equipped than the Qing, and bringing to bear unheard-of scores of heavy weaponry, launched a massive offensive with the intention of spearheading a corridor on Beijing. However, Qing defenders, ready for the Han aggression, dug in and held the line. After a long-winded and unsuccessful offensive campaign, by September the Republican forces decided to pull back and regroup. The Qing defense was dogged and facilitated by several strategic fortifications, and it is said even the Qing chiefs of staff were surprised by the fight their men put up. By the end of September, the Qing, feeling that they had repelled the best the Republicans had to offer, launched their own counterattack, expecting to break the Republicans’ weak morale. What they encountered instead was a ferocious fight against the Republicans’ numerical and materiel superiority as Republican planes hounded the offensive until, finally broken, the Qing command issued a full retreat. Although the year has been long and the casualties heavy, Republican forces seem invigorated by the recent victory and are on the bite for a renewed offensive.

[Initial Force Strengths]
HAN CHINA:
2,350,000 soldiers
13,900 vehicles and tanks
735 aircraft

QING EMPIRE:
1,630,000 soldiers
3,300 vehicles and tanks

[Casualties - Han China: 1,120,852; Qing: 751,098. Stalemate until August when the Han offensive finally lost all its steam. They pulled back onto the defensive provoking a Qing counterattack. The Qing counterattack failed to produce a breakthrough, with staggering casualties, allowing the Han to gain ground at last while Qing forces regroup. Han China loses 65 Reserve Divisions and Qing Empire loses 69 Reserve Divisions. Han China also loses 8 Autocar Divisions, 10 Lt Armor Divisions, 8 Md Armor Divisions, 6 Biplane Squadrons, 1 Monoplane Squadron, and 3 Triplane Bomber Squadrons. Qing Empire also loses 5 Autocar Divisions, 1 Lt Armor Division, and 1 Triplane Bomber Squadron.]

Three students killed in Saigon!

Saigon, French Indochina

In an increasing sign of trouble, three Vietnamese students were murdered in Saigon. The victims, students attending a Socialist-run university, were dragged into an alleyway and beaten to death. Currently, the perpetrators are at large, but are suspected to be hostile Buddhists heavily opposed to the French. In a sign of defiance though, over 300 students marched through Saigon, waving French and Red flags and shouting slogans, daring the reactionaries to go after them.

Factory-Fortress Towns sprouting up in Indonesia

Jakarta, Australasia

The Indonesian landscape is changing rapidly, with the advent of the new Australasian “Factory Fortresses”. The blueprint for these towns is the model of a modern castle town, complete with high walls, a market, housing and a factory. The project promises to be ambitious, and has put many of the locals to work in construction already. While none of them are created yet, there are hopes that the first few will be completed by the end of 1932.

Fascists and Socialists find audience in Australia
Sydney, Australasia

While the acquisition of Indonesia has done wonders for the British and Australasian factory owners, many working class whites have felt a pinch in their checkbooks. Immigrants from the archipelago have been coming to Australia proper to find work in some of the industrial towns, offering their services for much cheaper than white Australians would. Some White Australians are finding their voices though in the form of Socialist and Fascist parties, be it demands for worker rights or for deportation of Indonesians. While both of these groups are still buried in Parliament as a fringe minority group, the recent rise of the Fascists in Britain has caused some alarm for Australasian elites.

The Americas

Ignacio’s Raiders strike! Raiders spill into Grand River, wreak havoc on countryside.

As the Mexican Civil War drags on with light skirmishes on other fronts, the Raiders of Zacatecas were among the most active combatants, invading Rio Grandese territory for plunder and mayhem. The raiders, fast-moving and difficult to pin, successfully burned and looted a number of small villages and farms before a Rio Grandese detachment was able to catch up with them in early July. In the ensuing battle, the raiders managed to make good on their retreat before the Rio Grandese forces could coalesce. Over the next several months, a few further skirmishes occurred, but no battles as great, as the Rio Grandese forces have withdrawn to the cities and fortified strongpoints and carefully watch for the opportunity to counterattack. In the meantime, however, the raiders have free rein.

[Casualties - Raiders: 3,903; Rio Grande: 3,135. Raiders loses 3 Reserve Divisions and Rio Grande loses 4 Reserve Divisions. Rio Grandese flock to Ignacio’s gang, granting Raiders an additional 5 Reserve Divisions.]

South America bracing for new round of conflict!
Montevideo, Democratic Republic of Brazil

Tensions are on the rise in South America, as the two Brazilian states move their forces to their respective borders. The DRB has decided that it will no longer fight as a decentralized partisan force. Instead, they are transitioning their force to a doctrine that allows them to better take advantage of the impressive war assets they have accumulated. The BRD forces are adjusting to the new doctrine, though it has been going slowly, much to the amusement of the Bolivian generals. Bolivian and Imperial Brazilian troops are on high alert, as are other South American nations.

Africa

South African policing keeping people in line!

Cape Town, South Africa

The South African Dominion has noticeably ramped up its policing efforts this year, particularly in areas with a heavy Black population. It has become increasingly difficult for Blacks to meet privately, and in particular, Black religious leaders have been noticing police presences near their churches and homes. Crime rates are down, but it feels that the communities are on edge.

Culture

New state studios established in France!
Paris, France

The French film industry received a welcomes boost this year with the establishment of multiple state funded studios. At the moment, the state has done little to actually interfere in the running of the studios, and instead the studios have been more or less taken over by some of the Republic’s most prominent film directors. Many French artists and actors have embraced the sponsorship, and while the studios have yet to release any new hits, 1932 is anticipated to be a major test for the new policy and the studios when their films hit French theaters. The studios have not been embraced by all though, particularly by left leaning anarchists who want nothing to do with the government.

OOC: What an update!

Orders will be due March 3rd, 11:59 PST. Please have orders in by this date so we can continue with timely updates

I WILL BE GONE from February 20th to February 28th. In the meantime, please direct all questions to Crezth

A Year In Review - editorial by Franz Gutenberg of Zurich Seminary University, published in die Zuricher Zeiten, December 17th, 1931

As the nights grow long and we raise our glasses to toast our mutual health on the eve of the anniversary of the birth of Christ, we take a step back to view our lives in a new perspective. Here at the Zurich Times, we celebrate the good and pay respect to the bad, and invite you, dear reader, to join us as we look at a Year in Review.

This year saw excitement in the international markets as the icy wall that had formed between the Socialist internationale and the Imperial world seemed almost not to be there. The Germans and Russians struck up a fresh round of trade, one that the Russian government, to everyone’s surprise, immediately invested in its nascent industries. Will the serfs stay on their turf? What reason have they to do so when anywhere in Russia is only a train’s ride away?

Further east, we saw an interesting behavior in the Persian nation. By the scores, they are translating western scientific writings into their native language - Farsi - with the translations made available in all Persian universities freely. I didn’t even know the Persians cared about Christian science!

Meanwhile, in Romania, we saw a growing preponderance of government schools and rural roadway projects. An ambitious effort, if only they did not have to fear from the rogue Turks!

And that, my dear reader, is what is most important as we look back on this year. Isn’t it refreshing that the Christian nations of the world, socialist and imperialist alike, can join together despite their petty ideological struggles? Indeed, I say, it is. We have been at war with one another for so long that we are due for a recovery. Not just of our nations’ material wholeness, but our spiritual wholeness as well. We are all, after all, God’s children - and we all have a duty to Him and to each other to drive out the infidel wherever they seek to do their mischief. When God asks, and we his Christians obey, no force on Earth can stand against us.

It was, many times before, in the vaunted Crusades of Old. It can be again. The hated Turk has declared war on Christendom. It is time to purge them, once and for all. I say unto thee: Deus vult.

OOC:

Please ignore the industrial growth rates for this year - due to an artifice the true values were obscured. The actual global average was between 3~4% growth, not the constriction/stagnation that the stats suggest.

I'm also working on setting up some spending sheets for each country - basically onepapers that show exactly what all the units cost in your own Base Cost for each country. I'll try to get that out soon and hopefully it helps make your guys's life easier. Also, starting next update, I'll include spending receipts at the end in this section (for all objects whose purchase is a matter of public knowledge, of course).

All of your orders were fantastic! <3 Thanks for getting them in. Here’s to a successful first update!

We just experienced 1931; please send orders for 1932.

Country Stats (1931)

Wow. Impressive start.

No advance on Hubei? D:

No advance on Hubei? D:

The vast majority of your available forces for performing offensives were committed to the push on Beijing. I'll try to be clearer about this kind of thing in the future.

My stats still read that I'm using mixed tactics when it really should say Police.

Stats should be up to date now :)

Edit: Also the map; Bulgaria was completely occupied.

From: The Kingdom of Italy
To: Turkey

We condemn your illegal invasion and occupation of Bulgaria. On behalf of the Italian people, the beleaguered Bulgarians and on the basis of peace, the Parliament of Italy, Prime Minister Luigi Facta and King Victor Emmanuel III submits the following ultimatum to the Turkish state.

1. Turkey shall immediately withdraw all forces from Bulgaria, and retreat to positions no less than 80 miles from the Bulgarian border.

2. Turkey will provide reparation payments to The Kingdom of Bulgaria totaling 500 (ep) over 10 years.

3. Turkey will demilitarize their military, which may not exceed the following figures for a period of 8 years: 5 rifle infantry, 15 trencher infantry, 10 assault infantry, 4 autocar divisions, 6 light armor divisions, and zero medium armor divisions.

4. Turkey must agree to permanently reduce the size of their navy. The may either sell, (at a below market price) or decommission their navy to comply with the restrictions, which will be as follows: 10 gunboats, 15 destroyers, 0 submarines, 3 light cruisers, 5 heavy cruisers, 1 battlecruiser, 1 battleship, and 0 dreadnoughts.

5. Turkey will agree to demilitarize their borders with Russia, and Greece for a period of 10 years.

6. Turkey will reduce its tariff rates on Italian, Russian, Serbian, and Greek goods.

The Italian government implores the Turkish state to accept these lenient demands within the next [48 real life hours] or further consequences will result.

To: Greece, Serbia, Romania, Russia
From: The Kingdom of Italy
We ask you all to denounce Turkey's unwarranted aggression in the Balkans, and urge all the states involved to join with us, and demand Turkey step down.

To:Greece
From: The Kingdom of Italy
We would like to propose a defensive pact with your nation, to assist in your protection from any unwarranted Turkish aggression.

I bought two sqoadrons of bi- planes but their not in the stats. Also romania declares a full mobilization of all of its forces. They will defend our nation against those wannabe ottomans. We also demand that Turkey retreats all of its forces from Bulgaria, immediatly. We also ask Russia to give us acsess to their baltic ports, since the bosphorus is obviously not secure anymore.

The government of the Netherlands strictly condemns the aggression of the Turks. We stand in solidarity by the government of the Bulgars.

Elections in the Netherlands are scheduled for next year, as always, any party may be involved in the elective process.

The damming projects will hereby continue. We will not use hydroelectrics in these dams as the land is unsuitable for it, and this would cost too much.

To: The UK, Australia
We wish to negotiate the status of the east indies with you. RSVP at your earliest conenience for a meeting in the Netherlands?

From: Russia
To: Italy and Turkey

Russia will stand by Italy in that matter and supports Italian terms. If Turkey does not withdraw from Bulgaria and stop it's illegal occupation, Russia would be willing to intervene in force.

As for the matter of Greece, Russia already has a defensive military alliance with it and we are protecting it's sovereignty.

Spain shall demobilize to 50%.

To: The UK, Australia
We wish to negotiate the status of the east indies with you. RSVP at your earliest conenience for a meeting in the Netherlands?

The Governor General of India would expect to be informed of the proceedings of any such meeting.

The UK will be increasing mobilization by 10% so that our parades can be grander!
