Revolution IOT

That's a Corp. Not an Army. The only nation ever to pass off Corps as Armies were the Soviets between the beginning of the German invasion and before pushing back west.

Then let's use corps instead of armies :crazyeye:

Then let's use corps instead of armies :crazyeye:

Because you don't worry about the enemy raising "corps". The only thing I'm really thinking about changing is "Navies" to "Fleets" since you have only one navy but can have multiple armies.

If you have 4 corps you have an army. It's just changing the casualties.

The Soviet Union Celebrates

This year, 1967, is the 50th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, and there are year-round celebrations throughout the resurrected Soviet Union to honor Lenin and the heroic peoples of the Soviet Union who rose up in 1917 against oppressive tsarist and capitalist rule, and the struggles and sacrifices of yesterday that made possible the flourishing Soviet Union of today.

The Soviet people have seen many trials in the past 50 years, from the brutal Civil War, the tragic death of Lenin, the hardship and chaotic fraternal fighting that accompanied the Transition, to the fragmentation and continuing reunification of the Soviet Union. The Soviet people and the noble communist ideals have survived corrupters, traitors, counter-revolutionaries and invaders stronger than ever.

Gone are the days of the Terror, of the Transition, and of the chaos of Fragmentation. The Soviet Union, though as yet still incomplete, once more stands proud and free among the most powerful nations of the world. The people enjoys security and equality regardless of race, gender or nationality, and a higher standard of living than ever before. And better days are ahead.

First Soviet Atomic Bombs

Earlier this year the first Soviet atomic weapons were tested at [secret location]. The tests were successful and we can now proudly announce that the Soviet Union is finally a nuclear power.

The Soviet Atomic Weapons Program began in the 1940s, but was not completed due to the chaos and fragmentation of the Soviet Union by 1955. The program was resurrected a few years ago and was given high priority by the Red Army.

The World's First Satellite

The Soviet Union confirms the successful launch of the world's first man-made satellite. To celebrate the Great October Socialist Revolution, and the triumph of Soviet science and engineering, Sputnik was launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome on October 4, 1967, on board the new powerful R-7 rocket, designed by an extraordinary team of engineers. The silver sphere contains a radio transmitter, which sends a signal for all the world to hear: "beep, beep", to herald the beginning of the Space Age.

This is a great triumph, not only for the Soviet people, but indeed for all the people of the world. The Chief Designer, [name withheld for security reasons], had this to say: "this is the beginning of an amazing new epoch in the history of humankind. This is merely the first step in our conquest of space, but it is a great, glorious leap for all mankind."

The Soviet rocket and space program, like the nuclear program, was also founded in the 1940s but its development was delayed by the Fragmentation of the Soviet Union and the upheaval which swept the country and the world in the 1950s. Nevertheless, our engineers kept the dream alive, in the meantime perfecting the designs and calculations and conducting occasional tests in the Amurian Soviet Republic. As soon as the Soviet Union was reconstructed, the rocket program was refounded and the engineers went to work with what must be described as revolutionary zeal, eventually completing the R-7 which was conceived back in the early 1950s.

Sputnik was closely followed by Sputnik II, which carries a dog, Belka, the first animal in space. Sputnik II featured revolutionary design which enabled the capsule carrying the dog to be ejected and parachuted back down to Earth after 15 minutes in space. Belka suffered a mild concussion but otherwise is healthy after her little trip into space. Sputnik III followed at the end of November, carrying sophisticated scientific instruments and returning a wealth of data on the conditions in Earth's orbit. Comrade [name withheld] plans to send more "Sputniks" into space, to be followed by probes to the Moon in the very near future.

Then just cut it off after they launch the rocket :p

Well the US is pretty "bwahaha we're the US and you can't do anything about it!" than "buy our stuff or stfu."

the Soviet union launched Sputnik huh? the Spanish Emperor congratulates the Soviet leadership by beginning the space age.

when questioned whether Spain would try to launch a similar spacecraft, the Emperor stated that Spain has no plans to launch a space craft of some sort any time soon. the Emperor stated that it is a waste of perfectly good money that could go to improving the Spanish Economy, which still sucks, believe it or not.

Uh huh. You only make, what was it, 54LP a turn?

Uh huh. You only make, what was it, 54LP a turn?

yup. and we only want to claim like 2 additional provinces next year... so Spain will be among the smaller powers, unless we buy additional provinces.
