At last, legislation has passed after heated debates. The Abhorrents have been a topic of debate, given their status as some bizarre mixture between Kaetif and feral beasts. What few have been captured have been rigorously studied, but research has been restricted due to the legal limbo of "rights."
The Legislature has duly decided that, more or less, they are enemies of all Sentients, and lack the sufficient mind to be given rights. They are akin to demons of ancient lore, being made flesh - their sole purpose is to be destroyed. In that regard, extensive studying of them shall have no holds barred, as research will further their extermination.
So far, findings have been non-intrusive, given the lack of dissection.
Section A: Diet
It would appear they are omnivorous but almost always prefer meat, fittingly enough; however, their adaptability to vegetation means they are always a threat, only able to truly die out from starvation if they pick the land clean.
--Their diet, therefore, has a hunter-gatherer effect. It is theorised that they spread so virulently because, like early nomadic humans, they become too much for an ecosystem to handle, so they must ravage another. Unlike humans, however, they do not seem to have any intent of settling down and adopting civilisation. They are to be treated as beasts and nothing more.
Section B: Lifestyle
-No information on sexuality or reproduction, or life cycle. Attempts to study reproduction resulted in the evisceration of one Abhorrent by the other; it appears that they have subspecies rivalries that would put human ethnic rivalries to shame!
--Some have theorised that as the Abhorrents are a warlike species, perhaps they could somehow be tricked into attacking eachother. If they mauled eachother like cats and dogs, they would be weakened, in turn enabling swift extermination.
Section C: Genetics
-This area has been a blank due to ethical concerns, as well as the fact it's bloody hard to capture these beasts. Now that dissection has been fully legalised, however, it is expected demand for new specimens is to increase.
--The government is increasing funding for "exploration." That is, obtaining as many Abhorrent subspecies as possible. Identifying variations and commonalities will help in combatting the threat.
Section D: Culture(?)
-Limited research due to limited subjects. There is also a fear of putting them in more than groups of three, so as to avoid swarming, not to mention the fact they tend to murder eachother just as quick as they would a human.
-Many subjects commit suicide rather than be researched or captured.
