The Marians' intentions are clear. Since they failed to bully Cantabria into submission, they have turned on an easier victim. We will commence exodus to Konchasa, assuming the emigrant caravans aren't "integrated" as well.

The Republic respects the Brazzaville government for taking the bloodless decision and peacefully accepting integration. Troops will remain in the area to ensure order in the wake of the integration process, but Brazzaville's status as an autonomous city of the Marian Federation has already been approved and citizens will be asked to elect a representive in a by-election in the coming weeks.

The border has been opened with Konchasa; any former residents of Brazzaville not happy with the annexation will be escorted to the border.

In light of the situation, the border with Cantabria has likewise been opened - humans who'd prefer Cantrabrian society may leave, and Kaetif who seek to flee Cantabria are welcomed. Of course, refugees will be protected the moment they cross the border, so any Cantabrian attempts to keep them from defecting will be met with resistance from the Republic's own border guards.

German forces engaged in West Pomerania encountered what looked to be some sort of Abhorrent-built device, and managed to record what they saw in a heavily-distorted image.
SDI set to begin 'real world conditions' test
With the Lacuna Project's first delivery arriving safely, the SDI now has the necessary material to begin 'real world conditions' testing, meaning live-fire exercises with fully-functional missiles. A lot is riding on these tests: success will mark the first stepping stone toward global deployment; failure, a potential nuclear catastrophe in one of the most developed regions left in the world. After the peaceful capitulation of Brazzaville, Marian forces have begun the process of moving in. Most police of the small city - Brazzaville's previous reliance on the Federation keeping their military near non-existent - haven't bothered to fight the professional Marian forces, knowing its futile.

The city government still remains in power, though now they work for the Federation lest they be forcefully deposed, and are working to prepare the city for full integration.

Candidates are already petitioning the Marian government, and they are all being accepted as candidates for the upcoming special by-election, to take place within a week after Brazzaville's formal accession.

With the annexation papers - and granting of autonomous status therein - already drafted, it only requires a formal, likely unanimous signing.

In other news, the tensions over Cantabria have fizzled in the interest of international peace. Many Federation vassals have returned to the Congo; the reports of mass mooning of Petrograd sailors en route are false.

The open border, however, has become more scrutinised after reports of ethnic terrorism. As humans are not included in those able to cross into the Federation, they are often given warning shots upon being spotted. While the policy is naturally controversial, the Border Security Agency states that, "In the Red Zones, life is a constant war. As numerous states, fearful of Marian aggression after the Brazzaville incident, sign pacts with the Federation, the Marians focus inward. They are currently battling a new threat - eco-terrorism.

Eco-terrorism existed prior to the Second Cataclysm, but the staunchly environmentalist views many Kaetif have has not only stifled various means of industrialisation in some countries, but has also given rise to a "The Earth cannot protect itself; you must protect it!" sentiment. Eco-terrorists are being focused on for the fear that they could sabotage the SDI program, or rather, will stop at nothing to ensure the destruction of Pacifistan.

The German Republic has started to undertake it's own research and development on anti-Abhorent weapons that would make them weaker and give the humans an edge in combat. On the side, they also look into removing radiation from topsoil and returning them back to normal.

The Germans know that they can't do this alone and began to reach out to other scientists who are developing their own radiation removal tech. The Germans of course are only reaching out to nations with positive reputation for obvious reasons. The final goal in this scientific endevor, the recapture of the black zones away from the abhorents.

The Federation would be willing to assist the Germans in their research program. More Abhorrents are due to be captured soon, and extensive dissection could yield more information about their biology and its weaknesses, if any.
