NAFAIK, your best option is to try an destable your poor vassal by making them change civics and giving them crap cities, until they collapse. Weirdly if they respawn I'm pretty sure they keep the dynamic vassal name but are no longer vassalised

well, a vassal might break away when he's sorely mistreated. to many demands he finds unreasonable, dragging him of in wars with his friends etc. he must despise you
He can also break away when he has a certain powerlevel (I'm not completely sure about the numbers, or indeed if it is completely true

and, again I think, he might break away when you don't protect him during war time and he loses a lot of cities.

That kind of sucks since their power level is likely never to be sufficient and I think I might have too little options for arrogant demands.
At least there should be option to peacefully (royal marriage? coup? public vote?) incorporate them given some conditions which would be:
- equal civics,
- excellent relations,
- same state religion or one side has none
- share a border
- is in the same tech "age"
- vassal's power x% or less than master's power
- master has good infiltration on vassal (espionage)
- possibly more
Now, can I turn this into an improvement suggestion?

jup, now modders who think this is a good idea can pick it up and do something with it and create a mod or something for it.
however; I forgot to mention. if it is your main pupose to have it included in RFC of one of it modmods. I suggest you post it also in these subforums.

Could declarations of war from defensive pacts ignore peace treaties?
For example, in this scenario, I'm trying to get my ally Spain into war against Russia, Khmer, Britain and Japan. Since Japan just made peace with Spain around 5 turns ago, how am I supposed to get them back into the war?
Also, if I make peace with Russia and/or Japan, would my DP with Spain instantly get me back into war against them if I bribe Izzy into attacking one of them?

Can I turn off the limit on the number of vassals(5, methinks)?
I don't think peace treaties prevent your DP allies from joining your wars.
Your plan should work, then. You don't even need to bribe Spain because the DP reaction of Japan's/Russia's allies will draw them in anyway.
Not sure where exactly, but it's definitely in the DLL.

Just not to confuse: since one of the latest patches vassals-and-def-pacts limit was changed to 6. But yeah it's also 5 for not updated version in BTS.

2. Not at all, they are have everything of RFC they need already contained, so they can be used without even having RFC. You need to be on BtS 3.19 for both, though.

You have to manually get the downloads from here rather than use the auto update.

About the Arabian UHV, do you have to spread Islam to 40% of the world cities(regardless of the population of the city); or do you have to keep the city pop. in mind? Like in the former case a 1pop and a 20pop would mean the same. I thought of this problem because the Arabian and Khmer UHVs are typed in differently. The Khmer says: spread buddhism to 30%; whereas the arab says:spread islam to 40% of world cities.
