Do you want me to anticipate works for Warlords?

well 80% v 20%...result is clear.

I've begun the conversion, and it's a real nightmare.
I spent last few hours fixing the countless errors and crashes. Mercenaries mod is complicating things. And I even haven't touched the dll... :crazyeye:

Its funny, i never have the cash on hand to make hiring a mercenary worth it.

Amen, brother ...

Good luck for the work :goodjob:

And if you restart from scratch ?

Quite true! They cost way too much in terms of original payment, as amassing even 300-600g in the early game is difficult and their cost per turn going as high as 150gpt (if it has like 10 promotions) is simply too insane to make it worth keeping one.
What I would like to know though is how AI with their misarable empty treasury always seem to be able to hire and keep sometimes up to 5 mercenaries in the same turn. And I don't mean the cheap ones with no promotion. They are most of the time units they can't even have and that have at least a couple of promotions. Is the mercenary system cheaper for the AIs?

Wow, I go both ways on the mercenary issue... I can only name a handful of times (all of which "emergencies") when I have had to hire mercs... I do like the merc system because it allows me to rush my research while I still expand... I just dump crappy units into the merc system and, though only a few will actually get hired, the major money boost really helps out... If the merc system went away, it'd be a small loss to the mod and I'd have to adjust my strategies a bit, but I'm not going to cry over it...

Send them to my email.
:D Just read that...

One problem though, Rhye, just today I realised I have a problem with my High-speed internet. I'm back to Dial-up now (it's killing me), and might not get High-Speed internet service until next week, I hope this won't be a problem for you.

As soon as I get my DSL, I will send you the Mesopotamia assets :).

Yes Rhye, please work on Warlords.

Your mod is the probably the reason that so many people have not bought Warlords yet.

XD
I am one of those people who hasn't bought Warlords because -- just in the nick of time, actually -- I discovered this mod. Frankly, I'd rather that Rhye continue saving me money and perfect the details of the current mod.

Tha kind of hurts Firaxis though, and from what I've heard, they aren't in a good situation right now... financially.

For those of you that havn't bought warlords, I was in the same boat... With having this mod to play with, I did't see much of a point... But it's not just the new features/civs/wonders in warlords that makes it great, it just RUNS much better... It doesn't tie up your entire system and slow down when alot is going on... It just seems to utilize memory better... With the amount of system resources this mod requires, especially in the late game, I welcome a warlords version...

Go buy Warlords... If anything, it's good to do a "play now" game with Warlords every once in a while when this mod fustrates you one night... :)

Great! I hope that the patch comes out soon...

One word --> :D

They have NEVER been in a good situation financially. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I recall Atari and Microprose were bleeding cash, too. Is Sid Meier bad at financial management? Maxis/EA Maxis rakes in cash, so it's not a systemic problem with up-market computer games.

I will buy Warlords whenever the mod goes into the W phase, but I'm really in no hurry and I think it's better to slow down, polish things up in the vanilla-flavored mod (as far as balance; debugging goes without saying), and start the move to Warlords when we feel satisfied about the features already in the basic mod. But I see I've come too late to voice this opinion, and moreover that the masses are anxious to combine RFC and Warlords goodness...
So it goes.

start the move to Warlords when we feel satisfied about the features already in the basic mod.

The only problem is 'waiting until we're satisfied' is rather ambiguous. Surely best to make all the compromises for Warlords before Rhye gets involved with fine-tuning?

I am still waiting for babylonians assets, and I'm converting the DLL.

If everything goes fine, the ETA is immediately or shortly after the release of Firaxis patch.

If it comes much earlier than expected, I may need some more days.
If it comes much later than expected, I will ask Firaxis permission to release the mod that contains the fixed DLL before them.

Did not want to post a thread just to suggest this... , is there a reason why religions are never founded in your capital i see no reason why they shouldn't be, especially if you are playing as Rome..

Religions are often founded in your capital, but why do you think they should be? Hinduism and Buddhism weren't founded in Delhi, nor were Daoism and Confucianism founded in Beijing. Jerusalem isn't a capital city and Christianity certainly wasn't founded in Rome (even if the city's important to Catholicism).

Really, the only holy capital that deserves its status is Mecca.
