Credits to snafusmith for the MP40 sub-machine gun, and also to asio for his British WW2 Helmet (I modified it to a German helmet shape). Thanks and enjoy!

BTW I like the other Waffen-SS unit by snafusmith, but I liked the black SS uniform better, so I decided to create this one.

Looks great, and the trench coat is prefect. Great job!

Great unit = it's going to the 1939 Mod :)
Now with Yours, wotan321, Snafusmith's and Bernie14's units i have whole unique infantry set for Germans :)

The model looks great! :goodjob: And it’s wearing a trench coat!

Do you mind if I “borrow” the base model for a unit or two? I would give you full credit of course. I always needed a model with a trench coat…

Sure, no problem.

Oh, I didn't mean to discredit the unit, Chugginator. It is a great one. :goodjob:

No problem. I just didn't know that Al Capone wore trench coats  (I'd only heard the name before, never really seen any pictures of him till I googled him)

The trenchcoat give them a sense of "We meet again Dr. Jones!"

Haha, they should have "-95% vs. American Archaeologist" :)

Seriously, though, nice unit model! :)

However I think the tie, trenchcoat and funny cross armbands are incorrect. As far as I can guess that's a dress uniform. In reality they should have camoflage/field gray uniforms etc. (I mean, the Marine unit doesn't have a dark blue uniform with red pipings, a sword, and a white hat either)

[EDIT] Yes, a google search verifies that the Waffen-SS did not dress that way, even their off-duty uniforms were grey.

I remember I had an mod for Civ 2 that replaced the old "Fundamentalism" government with "Fascism" and allowed a special unit to be build under that government called "Political Infantry" or something like that.

Could be a nice use for that unit model.. Design an addon unit (in addition to infantry) that can only be build under Police State and call it "Gestapo" or "Paramilitary Guard" or something and give them lots of nice (well, unpleasant actually) bonuses and stats (reduce chance of revolt in city etc.). Just an idea :)

Thanks for the compliment :) However they did dress that way (it was one of their dress uniforms, as I said before - I like it more than the field uniform). The field uniform has already been made by snafusmith as well.

In fact, here's the picture I based it off :

P.S. You need to google-search better, and the "funny cross armbands" are the traditional swastika armbands.

According to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waffen-SS), the picture you based the unit off is described as the "Dress uniforms of the SS-Verfügungstruppen, a pre-war Waffen-SS organisation".

Still, I like that they are black, that way they stand out more from the regular German soldiers.

Yes I said it was one of their dress uniforms.

And black is nicer :)
