I'd like to be surprised by all this, but it's Riverside county, so...

Riverside is part of the "Inland Empire", it's basically the stereotype of the deep south moved to the desert. Lot of bible thumping, lot of racism, homophobia and the like. Certainly not all parts of it are bad (Indio is pretty nice) but by and large I avoid going there.

I guess I'm a bad person for having no qualms to cheer about dead people if said people are in my blacklist of People Whose Death Would Actually Make The World A More Pleasant Place To Be.
