Cannabis and Poppy "Commodity Units"

I made these Cannabis and Poppy "Commodity Units" as special units for Ozymendias and anyone else who can use them in their games.
This is all for Fun additions that people need for their games so please...spare me the "illegal Drug" comments :lol:

They can be set as "Capture the Flag" units to make the AI capture them.
I am sure there are Gangster type games as well as other game situations where these "Units" would add what is wanted.

The Cannabis Unit is animated with sounds and the Poppy is a still flc, using one frame.

Cannabis
Commodity "Unit" for special game use.
Animated Civ Specific colored Flag was added.
CannabisDefault.flc, CannabisFidget.flc, (Fortify and Attack also uses CannabisFidget.flc) and CannabisDeath.flc (CannabisDeath.flc is also used for Capture).
Large and Small Civilopedia Images and Civ Specific Colored units_32.pcx file.
The animated Flag is the Civ Specific Colored area.

Note...I intentionally did Not place the Civ Colored Flag on the Civilopedia Images in order
for those images to work for either Cannabis Unit, with or without the Flag and Animations.

Alternate No Flag Cannabis_units_32, Alternate Large and Small Civilopedia Images with Grassland backgrounds
and a single frame Cannabis Unit Flc with No Flag or Civ Specific colors if prefered.
Adjusted the .ini files.

Sounds: CannabisDeath.wav, CannabisFortify.wav and CannabisFidget.wav made from sound bytes of the songs
"Layla" by Eric Clapton and "Breath in the Air" and "Breath" from the Album "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd.
Special Thanks to "themanuneed" for providing me with the Sound bytes from the
Two Songs used for this "Unit".

Set the .ini file and the Flcs and sounds for the way you want to use the Unit.

Poppy
PoppyDefault.flc, Used for all Flcs.
Large and Small Civilopedia Images and Civ Specific Colored units_32.pcx file.
Adjusted .ini file.
The Left and Botton Lines are the Civ Specific Colored areas so the Poppy stays Red.

Extra Files:
For Civilopedia Poppy Luxury Resource- Poppy Large and Small.
Poppy Resource and Shadow- PoppyResource.pcx and PoppyResourceShadow.pcx.
For TerrainBuildings.PCX file- StrayPoppyDrop.pcx (can be used in place of Barbarian Huts)
For Buildings Large and Small- PoppyBuildingsLarge.pcx and PoppyBuildingsSmall.pcx.

Edit: The Poppy Flower that I Remade and adjusted was originally from Harlan's resources.

The Extra Files for the Poppy will allow you to use this Unit in several ways as you like.

OK, odd question time. Is there a way to make either/both of these do damage to surrounding units on their destruction? I mean, set fire to that much canabis and its bound to cause some 'problems' for people in the surrounding area:crazyeye:

MJStark, yes... I have the .ini set up to use the Fidget as the Attack and all works very well in game. I almost fell off my chair laughing when testing the Cannabis Unit in my EFZI2 Game because the Zombies and Zombie Dogs were sometimes Killed by the "Weed Smoke" :lol:
Note, I did not place a sound for the Attack (IF Used) because that would be too repetitious.

Edit: Both the Cannabis and Poppy Units can be used in several ways but the Poppy Unit is a non-animated Flc and does not use an Attack. It is intentioned mainly as a "Commodity Unit" where it will be captured by the AI with setting for "Capture the Flag" in the Editor.

I included several extra Files that include being able to use the poppy as a Resource or "Building", etc...

IF you want to be creative...just edit the .ini file and mix and match the flcs or sounds to obtain the way you want to use these units :)
 
I have no idea why I would throw an "illegal drug" comment at you... cannabis is legal here in the Netherlands ! :D

not that I smoke it though >_>
 
This is Great can you add cocaine I would like my Civ to high when they go to war or work.
also some production plants to make tar heroin.
Please add Porn Movies for trade like the play boy mansion and some xxx magazines so we can trade with other nations.

Well, Ukas DID make a "Playboy Mansion" and "Playboy Bunny" Great wonders. :rolleyes:

@ Vuldacon: I may have to make a "Street Preacher" and/or DEA Agent unit to denounce/combat these evils. :lol:
 
Nice job Vuldacon, although the perspective on the poppies seems to be off. @Geay that particular image is all over the web and used by allot of people. Quick google search provides.

Actually, both of these Resource/Commodities were made as very simple "Units" in order to have the ability to set the Editor and game where they can be captured. The Cannabis can also be used as a stationary, non-animated unit if preferred.

Hikaro Takayama...Yes, a "Street Preacher" and/or DEA Agent would be a good addition for games that use this type "Unit" :)

BadKharma... The perspective for the Poppy was placed so it would remain evident and I wanted it to stand out differently. Seems OK in game.

xbeanerx.. how would you set that up in a game? Just trade with another nation then cut off that trade deal so they are angry?
 
Looks great ! I have to game-test them so that I can hear the extracts... many people will be amazed when they hear "breathe..." with such a big sound ! That was the intention at least... good work mate, very creative and filling a niche in Civ units.
 
Actually, these would be perfect for my ill-fated and now abandoned Gang Wars scenario. Used kind of like the Raw Materials in El Justo's AoI.

@TG#3 - My intentions precisely, although I'm calling them "medicinal plants" ( :D ) which will require either a Plantation or Refining Plant to produce.

Oh, I've always suspected that that stuff isn't tobacco.
