I was searching through channels until i came across Cops.

This is how it happened, The cop pulls up to the scene (we have a theft call)
And the other guy (the accused) goes to to shake the cops hand in a friendly gesture. The Cops Went to shake his hand, and all of a sudden the cops threw him down and slapped on the cuffs. Like WTH? don't be jumping to conclusions, Porky!
Then after a short fight to the back of the police car, police finds out this guy is innocent.
stuff like this is going down in big cities, or small cities with a corrupt police force.

We don't have all that much crime where I'm at, but I've never experienced/heard of any police brutality.

Brutality isn't an issue, but constant pestering is. The problem is, that Munich has loads of policemen but hardly any crime. This results in squads of 8-10 policemen hiding in the pedestrian zone and jumping out at any cyclist who dare to drive at more than walking speed.

Anyone care to guess what my feelings are?

Actually, the place I'm currently living has more of a problem with corruption than brutality, but it is most definitely still an issue.

Right here, A fine example of police brutality. Thanks for your input.

Corruption is just as deadly as brutality, they know they could get away with doing whatever the hell they want so they do it. Things are even worse if the sheriff is corrupt, Because The Police Could Be their own form of mafia, But with more jurisdictional power than the average citizen.

And Tarjan12 is right,

'with power, comes corruption.

Yes, but not always, it's actually dependent on the person who got that power. Who's gonna save your butt without some cops around?

Cops don't have a responsibility to "save your butt". They act as a deterrent. With police response time around here, you could prepare a meal for the cops. And give the criminals a doggy bag.

Funny, I don't recall them saving that girl I came across them raping back in '05.

And I prefer to save my own butt. Specifically from what cops would like to do with it.

Sharwood proves a good point.

we live in a police state, living out a big war

Authority Vs citizens
Authority Vs Liberalism
Authority Vs Drugs...

The funny thing is, they only winning on one of these wars. The liberalism war, we can't do anything on our own unless it's labeled as crazy or weird. you know what im saying?

Woah, the situation in America about police brutality differs on so many levels from the situation here in Europe, that's all I can remark after reading the posts so far.

I live in a quiet neighborhood.

Eastside, your lucky to be in europe

The Cops Need to Put People in jail to keep their jobs, what do they do to solve this?

Arrest a small time criminal, Put back out and repeat.

---------------------------------------------------------

Rich people can commit crimes since bail is so easy these days, if you want my opinion they are arresting the wrong people.

Not only that, you can RAT Some one out just to save your self.

I've known a b&e artist who gets busted like once every 3 months and hes back on the streets next day. That Happens to be the day my weed man goes missing :(

I have a question: Is the usage of such exaggerated force by the police quite common in America, at least in the major cities? What about it in Canada?
@Warhead: I've read your last post with amazement. Sorry about your missing dealer too.:mischief:
